Fallout 4 - Multiple E3 Gameplay Demos, Releasing November 10th, 2015

There's also the settlement building segment where the door was opened. If those locales existed in F3 or FNV they most certainly would require cells. And in the montage towards the end of the presentation I'm sure the player was inside while shooting raiders that were coming from the outside.

Nice catch. I'm really hoping this is true! After The Witcher 3, I really can't go back to loading screens when entering buildings.

You know, I will give Bethesda some credit for this: I like the environmental variety they've shown so far and the crafting system looks pretty neat as well.
Base building could be interesting and there's a lot of weapon variety.

Oh, and the Power Armor looks good. I don't like how it's pretty much implied that you'll be getting it early on though.

Pro-Tip: It's because of focus testing. People didn't like having lines read back to them.

That's extremely stupid if that is the case then. They could at least make it an option that's off by default. No point in wishing for something that will never happen though.

I love how it fits in more with the lore now. Supposedly power armor is what allowed American soldiers to decimate entire squads of Chinese in the defense of Alaska, it'll be nice to finally have that kind of power in our arsenal.

Have you played Fallout 2? Because when you got power armor for the first time you started to feel that you could screw anyone up

I like how big the power armor is now.

I really hope that's how all the power armor in the game is; it just makes it feel more special, and like actual power armor. You shouldn't be able to just put it on and off at any time. It's a fucking huge, fusion power hunk of armor that requires special training just to wear, doesn't feel like it makes any sense to just carry it around in your backpack and put it on whenever you feel like it.

Hell has frozen over............

So did somebody else notice the badass androids from the Intitute (MIT)?

I'm sure there's going to be some meaty (hehe) story behind them.

They are easily the greatest potential in terms of story and setting. I hope they do it right. There's so many cool and interesting things they could do with them. As well as the other factions associated with them like the Railroad and the Minutemen.

BoS could be interesting again due to how they may view the Institute and Androids, but I hope the newer factions get more development and screen time.

Hope is the right word. I'm expecting something hamfisted and cliche ridden.

Howard just revealed that the main character has over 13000 lines of voiced dialogue.

Edit: Can't get the timestamp to work on the live stream.

I looked at the actual Pip-Boy being shown in the post show, to the one presented on the ads, and the real thing seems considerably cheaper in quality.

I put together a comparison pic in photoshop:

Like, look at the differences in paint alone. And the screen window has a less attractive frame around it in the real thing. What do you think?

Mods on ps4 is a relief. I was worried for a while.

I'd wait to see what the final product we get looks like before reacting.

MC is an android, explaining how s/he survived 200 years inside a Vault. The character you play is a replication of the man or woman who made it inside Vault 111.

Believe.

Yeah I've been expecting a Blade Runner/DADoES for a while now. I again hope they do something interesting with it.

Getting used by one or more of the factions in the game to find some prewar cache or something. Our family is long dead, I really don't want to see them alive as that will be cheesy as fuck. Maybe your son's great great grandchild, but not your actual spouse and child.

I hope power armour customisation will mean we have a greater control over our normal outfits as well.

We at least know there's layered armor now, so we'll definitely have a lot more customization of our appearance assuming the number of wearable armor stays in line with previous games in the series.

Why? I genuinely want this to be a good game and I'll give Beth credit where credit is due.

Because you spent your entire time in this thread complaining about the game, numerous times. One of the "loudest" detractors. It's a bit surprising to see you be positive now. Well it's good to see there is something here you can enjoy too.

false advertising lol. you need to chill

So my first lunchbox had butch the tunnelsnake member.

He has a ten charisma. So of course I had him be the father of every single child in the vault.

We're up to seven pregnant vault mates.

Definitely my favorite moments from Fallout 1 & 2. It was basically game over for anything barring groups of Super Mutants or Enclave once you got the power armor. You could easily break both games and get power armor very early too.

I was disappointed with the power armor in FO3 and New Vegas (ended up with the Chinese Stealth Suite (yes, I know it was overpowered) and Ulysses Duster), but I wanted to use power armor. It just wasn't worth it. I hope Fallout 4 makes them special again.

What? using a power armor without training? I don't know how to feel about this.... The new dialog system can go fuck itself, too. Please, don't butcher the Fallout lore, Bethesda. Still getting it.

So I guess that demo at the Xbox show is just more confirmation that that leaked script is legit.

Yep, noticed that too. Preston Garvey and several lines from the leaked script were shown exactly as written during the Microsoft conference.
