A little off-topic, but is it me or is it surreal that we are getting Fallout 4 so...abruptly. It's a game I've seen clamored throughout for years and now, boom, it's coming. Almost makes me feel more cynical than excited.

Drago pls, get out of here!!
It's the opposite for me. I think I might be getting too excited and setting myself up for disappointment, but I can't help it. I honestly thought I was beyond getting this hyped up for game's release.A little off-topic, but is it me or is it surreal that we are getting Fallout 4 so...abruptly. It's not a matter of opinion. You won't get 60 bucks off of those collectibles ever. Special Editions exploit your feelings of hype to get you pay premium for cheap crap. It's an emotional purchase not based on logic but hype.
The hype is building up but I see these reselling for 50$ extra as a max.
PS4 sold out already![]()
After a year if there are no more in stock it could go for $500+ sealed, although that could change because months ago Bethesda said the stock was done and now they're restocking every other day.

Bethesda swears they are not restocking and they are just relisting canceled orders.
Edit: and they are all now gone.
Some of that could be because of canceled pre-orders and them vetting the orders finding people pre-ordering using multiple accounts.
This actually makes a lot of sense. I've noticed the problem people have with amazon and canceling is changing their address (as noted in that thread on GAF a few days ago). I wouldn't be surprised if scalpers are just now switching their mail-to address and getting canceled by Bethesda / Amazon.

I was thinking of getting something this or one of those cheap phones I see at the grocery store. Thanks. For those that need a cheap phone for the pipboy, this ought to do the job and it's only $10

Who's in the "duct taping my phone to my arm" club?
I don't even have a phone. :_:Who's in the "duct taping my phone to my arm" club?
Yeah I just feel like mid Deathclaw battle I'm not going to want to piss around with a touch screen. The novelty of having a robot hand from Metal Gear or an atomic bomb Fallout collection hasn't yet and this one actually has a use.
Admittedly, I'll use it like once before it lives on the robot hand, but that's fully expected.
To be honest I think the novelty of an actual Pip Boy will wear off pretty damn fast.

It runs on iOS, Android, and Windows phones is all the info I could find. I would imagine it'll run on just about anything, but I know next to nothing about smartphones.Donwe known the specs for the app yet? Will be looking to get a cheap phone that fits in a couple of days.
I could see how leaving the map screen open all the time might be useful. Especially if it updates in real time as you move around. Outside of that I don't see myself actually using the app.Yeah I just feel like mid Deathclaw battle I'm not going to want to piss around with a touch screen.
I ended up going with this one: LG Optimus Exceed 2. Best Buy had them for $14.99 and I had a little left over on a gift card, so I got it for about $1.For those that need a cheap phone for the pipboy, this ought to do the job and it's only $10

... I found this unboxing video of the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition (PC)
Holy shit, that thing is HUGE! There's no way to play the game comfortably with that thing on your armGod that pip boy looks so cheap. Is the case metal? Looked like plastic to me.
It comes with the season pass also?

So has there been any explanation as to how this thing will hook up to your game? Like will it be through wifi or would it be a steam-related app?

Most of these companion apps connect on your local network. I'm assuming it'll be the same.
