PS. Don't use MTUI -- it's garbage compared to DarNified (listed there).
Yea now that there is a new release id go with Darns definitely.

Ah.

So i think im going to finish the game with my Lone Pacifist tonight. Here are my latest stats..
24yqpw3.jpg

Quests Completed is at 41 but i dont want to do a second screenshot just for that :lol

Latest thoughts.. im incredibly hard to kill. With my huge HP pool, super quick running, and very high stealth i can go just about everywhere with no problems. im also 100% positive that i will hit level cap without even getting any combat XP. Thats pretty impressive for a modern game, imo. i think ill be done either tonight or tomorrow so ill post a pic once i hit Level Cap and then again when i pick the wasteland dry of skill checks/locks/computers :lol

MTUI - Standard interface mod. Must have if you have a display running higher than 800x600.

Revelation - A great interface mod that makes things look like the original Fallout 1/2/Tactics GUI. The only reason i dont use it is because there is noticeable lag with it on my machine.

FOOK - Lots of little fixes and tweaks.. but personally im holding off until it becomes a little more comprehensive.

New Vegas Mod Manager - Timeslips is coming soon.. use this in the meantime.

Bobblehunt - A balanced mod that adds Bobbleheads to the Mojave. There is an in-game hint file that is downloaded to your Pipboy once you find a bobble stand. So far this is the first content add-on that seems worth it.

About the perk every level mod.. id stay away from it. Otherwise its like Fallout 3 where you have every single perk by end game. Its much more balanced now, imo.

Thanks. I got the manager, bobbleheads and MTUI. Should be OK for now. And I am leeping an eye on FOOK, it seems it will do textures and a lot of visual stuff in addition to bug and balance fixes, so it should be nice when its meatier.

Edit: after reading more above, I swapped MTUI for darnified.

What does your perk selection look like? I built my "shotgun justice" character kind of similarly; lots of "base" DT, Travel Light w/ light armor (there is some decently high DT light armor in the game), high sneak (not tagged). I can't stand playing in medium/heavy after this build.

Either way is fine. Companion kills give you XP so you dont have to worry about that.

Thanks i might go back and get him.

I didn't want him killing any Nightkin as i read their was an optional mission you can do for them.

Sounds a lot like my character minus the shotguns. Here you go..

I had
Victor
randomly show up in my room once, for seemingly no reason at all, when I went to sleep in some town (I think Novac) and he nearly gave me a heart attack. That happen to anyone else? :lol

I had the same thing happen to me, went to sleep in Novac and boom, he pops up out of nowhere. I thought he was going to kill me. :lol

New Chris Avellone interview
Have you ever written a quest or character that you loved but for whatever reason could not implement in the final game?

Yep, it happened in Fallout: New Vegas. There’s a character on one of the trading cards, Ulysses, who was supposed to be a companion. Oddly enough, tearing him out of the game was almost as hard as putting him in because companion scripts touch almost everything (and he also was a complicated character in terms of some of the hooks into the storyline). Maybe he’ll come back at some point. I miss him.

You’ve written for some of the most beloved franchises in video games, from Fallout to Star Wars and Dungeons & Dragons. Is there a dream project you would love to work on someday? Or an original idea you’ve always wanted to try?

The Wire RPG, a Harry Dresden-style RPG, an ‘80s High School RPG (although Bully covered a lot of this already, so I’m less enamored of this idea than I was), and Alpha Protocol II (which would be an original idea with where we want to take it, IMO). I’d be interested to work on a Shadowrun game as long as there was less dice-rolling in the system. I’d also like to lead a Fallout title, just once.

Haha, something like this happened to me in the
Boulder City bar
and it was mega awkward. Partly because he just randomly bust in the door behind me and started that conversation. Then he just stood there in front of the door. I kind of had to like push my way around him to leave, like "uhhh, yeah... right, man I'm just... going to leave. OK? Erm..." :lol

Where can i get one? I used all of them when i was in the Casino with the
cannibals.
That's a good question. I just grabbed them when I saw them. I think Repconn Test Facility should have some though, if you haven't already been there.

Bethesda, give Avellone what he wants and make him the lead on the next Fallout game. Just have Zenimax buy them already and turn them into a Fallout Factory. More Alpha Protocol would be awesome too.

A question about Arcade Gannon:
So I told him to fight alongside the Remnants and he left my party.
Is there a way to get him back?

–This is a little random, but marketing support from Bethesda, and how it changed my opinion on game development marketing and how much it can help your title when they are involved early and they understand the title. They didn’t just meet us halfway, they did more than I’ve ever seen a marketing department do in all the companies I’ve worked with. As an example, one of the first marketing meetings I’d had for the game was very early in the development process, and during the meeting, the head of PR/Marketing said “I’ll start playing the builds so I can demo this myself,” which amazed me. Then he did it. You’d be surprised how often marketing doesn’t want anything to do with talking about or demoing a title, they leave that to the developers. Bethesda really stepped up in all these aspects.

This kinda makes me feel bad about some of the things I say about Bethesda sometimes.

I've tried this and it's so horribly optimized..makes graphics look way worse and hurts performance. Maybe others will have better luck...

Really? That's a shame. Well, NMC's high-def textures and URLW will do for now.

I was playing and
was in Caesar's main camp. I had a moment of impulse and got pissed off at Caesar and how annoying he was, so I slaughtered everyone in his main camp, including him. I was with Boone so it was more hilarious. It means I can't do any more missions for him, but whatever.

what exactly do the options do? Its a bit tedious to set it up, run around that structure to the top, then run out to
find ignacious. I can't even remember what I just did - I think I sent power to vegas + Mccaren
and nothing seem to have happened...

random question: How does the pc version works on Imac i7 and 27 inches monitors?

Since I'm not playing the game to finish the main storyline, and pretty much playing to have fun and kill stuff, Tonight, I shall try to invade and destroy the Legion's camp, killing everyone in my path, to scavenge and resell their armors and weapons. This way, I'll buy those 10k caps cybernetic implants at the New Vegas Clinic! ... Actually i dont think thats possible, dont we have to take a boat to return to the main map?

(I'll probably die after 3-4 guys and lose interest)

Basic rundown:

McCarren + New Vegas: NCR Fame. You basically help the brainless shithead keep his "job" and in turn get a little recognition with the NCR. The other surrounding areas do not benefit, only NCR interests.

Freemont + Westside: Followers of the Apocalypse rep (medium) and some items. Ignacio commends you on the choice, though the overall benefit is still narrow.

Full region: Followers of the Apocalypse rep (high) and more items (including one of the only +science books). The entire region benefits, though output will be affected by brownouts to combat the load.

Full region (overload): Followers of the Apocalypse rep (low), NCR Infamy (low). The NCR cannot discover more about the true purpose of the facility but none of the surrounding areas benefit (the plant essentially goes to waste).

Arm ARCHIMEDES II: NCR Infamy (high). Implications more obvious.

I bought this on launch day for PS3 and it's still sitting in the wrapper, kinda debating whether or not I should return it. What's the state of this on the console after the patch(es)?

The general recommendation is go for the PC version.

I'm stuck

I'm on the quest where I have to find those
'demons' in Novac in the basement of that missile site. I've gone all the way down and killed this one with a flamethrower. I've also found a few keys. But I haven't been able to find a door that leads anywhere. I did open one near that flamethrowever one, it seemed like a small collection of cells for imprisonment.
But the quest still isn't complete? He had a key and I got it off him, and I also found another key near by

You're in the wrong area.
You're actually supposed to go there after you talk to the ghoul in the basement. Work your way backwards a bit and you'll meet two people. One ghoul, and one Super Mutant that can talk. They will help you complete the quest. Keep in mind the super mutant will attack you if you have killed all of his comrades.

Can't speak to the PS3 version, but I've had few problems with it on 360, at least compared to what everyone's been saying. Froze up twice in about 25 hours of playtime so far and I lost one of my companions while running around in Freeside. Reloaded a save from about 15 minutes before and there she was.

The worst thing so far is when I was sneaking around crouched and going over really bumpy terrain, my girl's rag doll went a little nuts and my gun ended up up pointing strangely straight upward. Bringing up the Pipboy didn't work then and I basically had to holster the weapon a few times and then draw again. (Or go into VATS.)

Happened quite a few times in a row in the same location, but only one other time in another spot.

But yeah, if you have a choice, go for the PC and the potential for mods. If PS3 is the only way to go (and you don't mind remembering to save often), it's one of the best games of the year. That means it's worth it.

When you first enter the basement
there's that first big room where you encounter the first enemy. Turn left at the corridor there and pretty soon you should see a short corridor branching off to the right that leads to a room. There will be a Nightkin there that talks. You need to interact with him and the Ghoul in the room further down the hall to the left.

Heh, ran across a Lakelurk lair on the other side of the river, which I though was completely off-limits (as Obisidian has put up a lot of natural borders everywhere, and even a not-so-natural fence in the goddamn river itself). Had some decent loot, too. Nice little surprise, way out in the middle of nowhere.

:lol Yeah, stumbled upon that place the other day as well. Holy shit at the amount of lakelurks! Good XP grind spot though.

Aye, too bad I just hit level 30. I'm in desperate need of more Microfusion Cells, though. A lot more.

how can i proceed? I've already obtained the passport for the strip, but i don't know if ...

You can't get all of the achievements in one play through.

There are no quests given by Benny, so kill him.

There's a bunch of deathclaws around there, so look out.
