I've bruteforced my way through the glitches.

Killed everyone at The Fort.

Did stuff in a strange order.

It seemed the mark of Caesar and the Platinum chip were both glitched. Everything seems to be working fine though. Didn't need to use console commands, so I still get achievements :)

Do the Sniper and Commando perks stack? Will I be able to snipe enemies from a distance with them both?

They do... and they're also broken.

Just put a bullet in old Bobby H's head with my mysterious Magnum. Hearing that tune when you draw it play when the message "The House has gone Bust!" pops up- PRICELESS.

so 'I'm basically finished with the game. One thing I'd like to know is how many Wild Wasteland encounters there are. Probably it's hard to notice the difference between a sneaky subquest giver and a crazy NPC but I really don't think i've encountered many of them. What say you , Wild Wasteland Gaf? Is there a list about crazy WW encounters? How's going for you?

I finished my 2nd playthrough and quite frankly. Had that weird face twice in the 2nd run and I saw nothing. Similarly on run no.1, I said I didn't see anything.

Its a terrible terrible system. New Vegas wild wasteland fail.

Pretty much but its about how you interelate to the various factions of the wasteland and hence the voice over blurbs to explain the impact. Which is a lot more interesting that the main endings.

I'm contemplating run no.3. :O But I might wait til they fix the perks/game.

I was pretty disappointed with the Wild Wasteland encounters, all but a few of them are pretty tame and would've been just fine being in the game by default.

wow. I missed this post. That is pretty bad..

one is a radio one, and I don't even use the radio at all.

This kind of explains why I never seem to see anything when I should be seeing WW. The beyond the beef one is SOOOO stupid. And a bunch of audio cues? and dialogue lines?!? You can't even tell that its meant to be a special line.

WTF IS THIS SHIT!

Vault 11...

Holy fuck.

Up to exploring Vault 11 I had felt that New Vegas, whilst a great game, was missing its spark, its raison d'être and such felt it lacking in comparison to Fallout 3.

No more. If New Vegas is the Orange Box then Vault 11 is its Portal.

If Fallout 1 and 2 is anywhere as good as the story, writing and atmosphere of Vault 11 then I need to (somehow) play them.

be sure to play Fallout 2 with the Fallout Restoration Project - it brings back lots of content that were cut and adds more depth to some of the current contents as well.

I see good things with the mod project for FO:NV, the New Vegas you play in the next few months or so will be so much richer and fuller (and less buggier) than the current one. :D

Is there a way to change the settings to lock this at 30 fps?

I dunno whats going on but this game hurts my eyes. I think my fps is up and down and annoying them or something.

For people who are specializing in energy weapons, what ammo/energy weapon are you using to take out deathclaws consistently? I've finally gotten my BoS gear and even with a tag of 90 energy and using the gauss rifle they shrug off my attacks (even with maxed out MF ammos). Unless I get a critical (and stupidly, I chose the perk that makes enemies explode when you kill them with an energy weapon, which means I've been killed by splash damage more times than I can count), I just can't kill these things. Is there another energy wep or ammo type I should be using? I don't need to kill them in one shot, but I'm tired of seeing that damn red shield next to deathclaw life bars. I'm level 30, playing on very hard and hardcore. My gun skill is 17, so I really need to stick to energy weps.

To open the Overseer's room you need two passwords I believe. They're both on the bodies of Vault technicians in the flooded parts of the Vault. Hope you have a rebreather! This is sorta from memory, so it might not be 100% accurate.

I mainly used the Plasma Caster for tougher enemies, when you add the upgrade that gives a faster fire-rate it becomes deadly as all hell. You can steal one easily from the counter at the Van Graff energy shop in Freeside.

Where do I use them?

There is a computer in a room next to the medical center or something. You can use it to remove the flooding in one of the areas, and then when you go back down there, a previously jammed door should be open. Have you already done that?

The keycards are used for computer terminal access iirc. There are a few terminals you need to use with the final one being a huge blue computer terminal instead of the standard ones.

Here is a video walkthrough http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ECkvXVM2YQ. Between the rads and the enemies and the dim lights its harder than it seems.

OK, thanks. I stole mine from the Van Graff shop, but I haven't found the upgrade mod yet. Is it sold at the Gun Runners or is there someplace else I should go to find it.

Bleagh, energy weapons. I wish they hadn't nerfed them so badly in this game.

Try to make that overcharged ammo that does 3x damage or whatever, and get the unique YCS gauss rifle variant. And yeah, I think that exploding in your face perk is a bad idea as well. But try to suggest otherwise and you'll get a certain clueless person running around calling things shit and worthless pretending that their vulgar language somehow makes them correct.

Yeah I bought mine, I think the Gun Runners had it when I played.

Questions about the strip.
So I talk to House. He gives me his spiel. I then go to the Tops and talk to Swank. My speech is high enough for all the stuff, so I get to go up to the 13th floor and snoop around Benny's room. Talk to Yes Man and get all that business, then go down to talk to Benny and get him alone in the Suite. After I talk to him, I decide it's best that I make his head explode. I take the chip, and go back up to the room. Where did Yes Man go? Can I no longer pursue his quests? I kind of liked his plan, but didn't see the need for Benny to be alive for it to go into effect. What's the deal?
Ring-a-Ding, baby.

Edit: Alos wanted to say that I'm 30 hours in, Level 14, Just got to the strip about an hour ago, and have yet to even encounter my first deathclaw or vault.

I'm using the overcharged ammo, but they're still shaking it off, unless I get a critical and then it takes off 50% of their health. Should have chosen all the critical perks. :(

Yeah, it's my candidate for "worst perk of the game" right now. I was sucked in by the "it makes all the other enemies explode!" bit. Which is nice, but not when you're standing right next to them. I've killed myself and my companions so many times I wish I could go back and delete that "perk" entirely.

started run 3. level 7 or 8 now. Started the game and ran all the way to new vegas. did a few quests and had double level ups in the strip :D Character has 9 luck and
jackpot on the slot machine
. Now... that's how you make money early in the game. used it to
upgrade luck to 10 + other SPECIAL stats

using arcade now. Man, I wish he had more dialogue because the guy is hilarious.

Vault 11 was amazing. Found it on my second playthrough while wandering.

Probably one of the best Vaults, along with Vault 108 (from F3).

Should be just outside of the Tops casino

Where is vault 11, anyways? Would I eventually be directed there via a quest, or is it just a 'self contained' location?
There's no quest involving it, although there is a skill book down there. Most of the appeal is reading the terminals and slowly making your way down to the bottom, where a special surprise awaits.

I just wanted to point out to anyone playing on the 360 with a USB stick as a memory card. Move the save to your hard drive. I played FO3 on the PC, so I thought it was just because of the platform difference was the reason for the ridiculous load times. No, that's not the case, and I cannot stress enough how much better the load times have become using the HDD instead of a USB stick. (Before someone asks why I did that in the first place, I alternate between 2 machines.)

Are you still pretty early on? You can find a good amount in the
Repconn HQ
You should be directed there once you started poking around in Novac.

The surprise for me was that when I got to the bottom a message popped up saying I'd failed two main story quests. That's not supposed to happen, right?

Did you destroy
the four Turrets on the ceiling in the hidden chamber? They are technically allied with Mr. House, so destroying them is against him.

No, that's a bug.
The turrets are sometimes incorrectly faction-aligned with House, so killing them made him your enemy.

Oh, for fuck's sake... My two last saves are busted.
When I try to load them I get this message:
"This save game relies on downloadable content that is no longer available. Some objects may be no longer available. Continue loading?"
I choose "yes" and then it dumps me back in the main menu. What the fuck? Any solutions?

Did you disable some mods? Thats the message that comes up when a mod was present in a previous save but isnt when that save is used again.

I was on a roll last night and finished most of the missions in Freeside. I love that feeling of juggling three different missions and completing them at the same time.

Also for anyone who has a decent sneak and an interest in Plasma/Laser weapons, hit up Silver Rush in Freeside. They have a bunch of awesome junk on their counter and they don't seem to pay much attention to you. Best of all, it doesn't give you negative karma.
