If you have high luck skills, Blackjack is your game.. Though, Caravan is super easy. Why not stick to that?

surprised that flarkminator thinks that House is a good guy. Anyone talking about the reaching of the stars for mankind and utilising super armed robots against humans to do so, is a despotic mad fuck imo. THought a lot of his spiel was like the ravings of a psychotic egomaniac.

ok :0, thanks. Where can i findluxarific said:Casinos or repairing good weapons and then selling them. Caravan was the fastest way to earn money for me, though. Just go toand play the bartender. I won 6000+ caps from her in one game of Caravan. :lol It's so easy to win, I just bet all my caps everytime.the NCR Outpost

BeeDog said:Is there a "...For Dummies" guide to Caravan? The game seems awfully complex, and with my current university situation (and after Demon's Souls) I'm in no mood to study the rules like it's an exam. Any simple-as-fuck explanation would be great.
I'd just add that you can, and should, also start a deck with a high card (up to and including 10) and work down. The second card determines which numerical direction you have to go with that particular caravan.luxarific said:Safest way is to start with low value cards like aces, 1-3. Then you can add cards in order of increasing value (either alternating black or red, I forget :lol) or all of the same suit.
Timber said:RE: caravan
i personally don't bother with everything between aces and fives, nor with queens and jokers. a deck with sixes through tens, jacks and kings makes for an easy win.
fuck your opponent over by placing jacks and kings on his pile. the game is broken in this regard since no opponent i've faced seems to do the same to me.

X26 said:yup, high luck + slots = 30K jackpot each from the tops and gemorrah in no time at all

Dresden said:Well... the Legion ending was as negative as it got. Pretty much the only "good" thing that happens is thatCaesar gives the Courier some cash as a reward. :lol
bhlaab said:Yeah but even then the argument is made thatwithout the beaurocratic red tape of the NCR the legion can introduce actual order to the wasteland in a way that allows it to thrive
Dresden said:The Fort was a pretty accurate representation of what "order" was going to be like in this new Legion-conquered Mojave. Like that merchant said, the roads are safer and the Legion deals fairly with him so long as he obeys their laws--that sounds good until a slavewoman lurches up the hill with a heavy burden on her back. It's a society where not being male is going to block off every opportunity and where petty crimes are punished by crucifixion. That's pretty bad, man.
bhlaab said:Well that depends on how you look at it. I didn't side with the legion because of that, but choosing them won't get you the evil bastard ending like poisoning the water in Fallout 3 or killing a little sister in Bioshock.
Politics and ineffective leadership along with sometimes questionable methods (as the Great Khans are fond of saying).Jerk 2.0 said:Also, is there a dark-side to the NCR (other than the standard fare)? So far, they are looking to be a pretty generic 'good' faction.

I have yet to get to Vegas, but how many factions will I have a choice in joining? I heard that the game forces you to choose.
bhlaab said:The NCR doesn't help its citizens unless it also serves the governments interests. The only reason they're in the mojave is to suck the dam's electricity back west. They don't massacre people like the legion but they are still conquerors, they just work dirty and pull strings behind the scenes. In Freeside they regulate the food and water that comes in to pressure the citizens into submission. They don't protect caravans effectively because their only interest is in the dam and the strip, meaning that the settlements they are supposed to be helping out don't get the supplies they need. Keep in mind that nobody in the Mojave asked them to be there.
Also they impose high taxes.bhlaab said:The NCR doesn't help its citizens unless it also serves the governments interests. Kinda.By the way, is it possible to choose to not join any of the factions?

Kinda.

The Brotherhood is, well, let's just quite ... unpleasant - definitely nowhere near as sadistic or cruel as Legion obviously, but enough twistedness where it makes you think twice on trying to help them more than just standard fare quests.Jerk 2.0 said:My thoughts as well (so far. I have yet to meet the Brotherhood).
