Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time |OT| Level-5 Dragon Crossing Stardew Fantasy XIV

I thought that too, and bought the Switch version, but it's hard to play handheld knowing how great it looks on my PC

That's what I like about Switch I can choose to play on big screen or handheld.

Especially summer days in Canada I can play it on my house's backyard.

Slowly working my way through the game. Just got the ability to farm. Super fun and as stated, this game evaporates time. My god.

60 hours in, since Master ranks are a bit of a grind the hype is dying down a bit for me, though it's still the only game I play currently (Parked all others, need more Fantasy Life)

I feel Ginormosia is a bit tacked in. It would warrant a full game by itself but... as it's stands it's hard to find reasons to go "there" and the game doesn't really prod you to go. if it was actually interconnecting the game regions it would seriously be GOAT for me, no exaggeration.

Took me a while to notice your equipped life tool is visable and used when crafting.
You are not alone. I think it took me 20+ hours to realize that the next batch of commands appears in the top right corner. :goog_relieved:

Also took 60+ hours to realize that you can honk while on the mount by pressing the R shoulder button.

I'm going to start this to see if I can play some relaxing games after a stressful working day, after Claire Obscur and DOOM I need some light enjoyment :) How does it run on the Deck?

Heard it runs very nicely. It seems like overall the game is quite polished in the technical side.

How are you liking the game?
More than I was expecting to honestly. My only gripe with the game is how easy the combat is, which means that you don't really need to engage with the crafting up until endgame. Things do get hotter by the endgame tho so there's a lot of grinding for materials and crafting to do, which is nice if you want to spend more than a hundred of hours playing it.

Aside from the core loop, the story is simple but fun, chartacters have a lot of charm to them and the game while simple feels nice to play with a great sound design and visual feedback that make every action from opening a chest to mining some ore a total joy. Speaking of sound, the music composed by Uematsu is amazing, with themes that go from epic (the boss battle theme sounds straight out of FF) to others that are quite silly, like the Guild Hall song that uses dog barks as an instrument.

So yeah. Combat, easy. Everything else, great, charming and fun. I definetly recommend it, specially if you are in the mood for a short of "turn my brain off" game in which to get comfy and have fun for many, many hours.

Are people doing all the classes?

As with my playthrough of the original 3DS game, I'm starting with Woodcutter / Carpenter / Archer for vertical integration of the bow-making supply chain.

I expect to start all of the gathering and crafting classes, so I have a crafting pipeline for my combat class. I will probably try other combat classes, but I see a benefit on primarily focusing on a single combat class.

My only critique so far is the camera is a bit too close. The camera is like it was in the 3DS game, but on a big screen a more distant camera is better.

C Cfh123 if you are on PC there's a mod that unlocks the camera, increasing the vertical angle and letting you zoom further away.

Bit of a tip for levelling up budies.
The single room to the west in Depths B3, the 4 enemies and 1 ore have enough XP to take a budie from level 1 to 53. Great for the crafting guys

PC also runs great on Steam Deck for portability, and the loading times are SIGNIFICANTLY faster than Switch 2 if you have a capable SSD

I'm on the Xbox, so no camera patch yet.

The dungeons and town building remind me of the Level 5 classic Dark Cloud. I'd love a remake of that game. The town building is heavily inspired by (or borrowed from) Animal Crossing, but it has some Dark Cloud DNA in it.

They posted a Switch / Switch 2 comparison video on their Youtube

Even the Switch 2 load times here are significantly longer than they are on the Steam Deck.

You can play local with one copy on PS5/Switch. Other player just presses start and gets to control Trip (bird companion).

Ah sweet, thanks!

I don't think he or I would want to be a bird so two copies it is.

You can attack and do stuff, so you're not useless or anything - sort of akin to Cappy in SM Odyssey.

But if you both want full progression of your own characters, then yeah 2 copies it is.

Thank you to everyone who has played Fantasy Life i. We will implement the viewpoint that allows you to see the map from a long distance, which was requested by many people. The update will be implemented one by one from around mid-June, although the update will differ depending on the device. Please look forward to it! Below are comparison images. At the same time, we are also responding to some other requests.

They are putting the camera mod in the game! Good news for our console bros.

The Switch 2 update seems to make loads much quicker but I've not sat with a stopwatch.

Made it to Master angler. Now all the fish are in a place I haven't progressed the story to yet.

My son is a certified pussy bitch.

I offered to get this on pc and ps5 so we can play together. Get it on ps5 first to try it and im immediately sold this game is awesome!

I let him play on the island and do the tutorials while I read and make sure to learn how to play. Then I ask this clearly adopted mother fucker so should I get a second copy so we can play together? Are you going to want to play by yourself?

"Naaaah"

Christ held me back from turning that dual sense into a boomerang off his 5head.

Arsic Arsic I think kids nowadays are more into other stuff. :goog_relieved:

Just replace Pokemon with Fantasy Life.

This ding dong would rather play poppy playtime, Roblox, and Minecraft. Or among us.

The worst taste in games. I expose him to Mario , Mario kart, Sonic, and a million other cool things and he just goes back to this garbage.

His whole generation is cooked.

Feel like this thread has fallen off a bit with the new console and not-E3 hype, but they announced that it's sold a million copies! Hooray! Love to see the success for this great game and they continue to add little patches and content to improve it (notably announced that they are fixing farming to make it not horrible).

Admittedly I did take about a week off when Switch 2 came out messing around with new games for that but was playing last night for an hour and it's still super fun and I still have so much to do. I actually really like working on my town too, I think it's an underrated part no one is talking about. Lots of flexibility and options for decorations.

I would go as far as to say the native Switch 2 version of this is a must have launch game for the platform, especially if you haven't played it at all yet.

I bought this for my Switch 2 and I'm having tons of fun and messing around with different life (jobs).

I like the crafting mini game, is simple but very fun, same way the crafting mini game in DQXI was fun.

Really enjoying online Treasurer Groves. I almost gave up on the game because of the grind but a couple of online sessions and got massively boosted, well beyond my Life rank.
