In your opinions, which Nintendo console system is your favorite, why, and your favorite game.

-NES
-SNES
-N64
-GameCube
-Wii
-Wii U
-Switch
-Switch ||

Personally, I love the SNES as it was my very first system that I got when I was younger.
I still love going back to the system to play Zelda: A Link to the Past and Mario Kart, but these days I find myself playing a lot more of the GameCube. Zelda: The Wind Waker is hands down my favorite game for the system, it was just so different to the 2D side scrolling adventure that I loved from the SNES and the story was just so gripping.

Favorite game? Probably Goldeneye/Perfect Dark.

All of Rare's output is absolute peak gaming to me. Plus the two best Zeldas in the whole franchise. SM64. The list goes on. Banger after banger. My favorite console of all time.

Thread should be renamed to "What Nintendo console did you grow up with?" instead. Nobody is willingly going to vote gamecube if your grew up with something that came out prior to that.

Hadn't really given this much thought before, but went GC.

There was so much riding on it and it delivered. Two Zeldas, Wind Waker was fire, REmake and 0, and arguably one of the best Smash Bros entries.

The Wave Bird controller. Good effing times.

SNES and it's not even close. The nostalgia is real. I still play SNES games. It was an amazing console with a lot of awesome games.

Edit: I obviously had to change my vote when PlayStation 1 was added as an option. It was, hands down, the greatest Nintendo console of all time.

This

Who needs dozens of 9/10 games when there's 10/10 bangers like…

Mario 64
Zelda Ocarina
Zelda Majora's Mask
Perfect Dark
Goldeneye
Banjo Kazooie

SNES for nostalgia and it was objectively the best piece of hardware of the generation with a massive library of good games that's not a bunch of first party Nintendo titles.
N64 was a flop, GC was a flop and my last Nintendo hardware.

N64 by a mile.

Not their best (though in my mind the games were), but those days playing Goldeneye and the wrestling games infront of 32" crt with my mates have never been topped.

Some of the best times I ever had.

n64 was peak excitement
was excruciating at the end of the 16bit gen waiting for the 32/64bit machines
you'd go to arcades and play games with mind-bending graphics/audio, then go home to your little 16bit 2d chode.

found it before xmas in my parents' car trunk while they were out on a dinner/date night.
snuck it inside, locked myself in a bathroom, meticulously unpackaged it like i was at a crime scene or something so i could perfectly repackage it without my parents knowing, and just basked in its glory

then you could go to a friends house and play their ps1 too, which was amazing in its own way.
what a time.

After seeing an playing Virtua Fighter 2 in an arcade 2D instantly died for me and it would be over a decade for me to get back into 2D.

Mario 64 dwarfed VF2 though in terms of being mindblowing, one of the top 5 most important games of all time, right there at launch.

Man, I think I've got to pick the Wii! The system had everything going for it. It was an affordable console that brought novel ideas and a new way to play, while still offering traditional controls. It featured great online capabilities and an eShop, fun channels to explore, and even an internet browser. It also had backward compatibility and access to virtual consoles. And let's not forget... the music!

I have owned them and enjoyed them all even the Wii U....... Which had the strangest launch from Nintendo ever. But I never look back as nostalgia is rarerly all that convincing in actual reality. So it's the Switch 2 for me. Loved the original and this improves on that in every way.

Any console that launches with my favorite Nintendo franchise, upgraded with an awesome open world to explore wins by default.

Wii. It got me back into video games after the PS2 to X360 transition/death of arcades sapped my interest in gaming. Loved alot of the big first party entries, the controller flexibility, the virtual console, and just the creative vibes of the library.

SNES or N64 would be second, if we exclude handheld, but to be honest I might have to say N64 since alot of my favorite games of all time turned out to be N64 titles.
