I saw this posted on Twitter and wanted to share since I saw the thread here about Colbert going in on Trump. The FCC is going to look into whether Colbert's remarks can be considered "obscene" via three-tier Supreme Court test, which means it must appeal to an average persons prurient interest; depict or describe sexual conduct in a patently offensive way; and, taken as a whole, lack serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value."
Late night talk show host Stephen Colberts controversial joke about President Trump drew the attention of the Federal Communications Commission. The agency received a number of complaints about Colberts commentary earlier in the week, according to the FCCs chief.
FCC Chairman Ajit Pai promised to take the appropriate action following a comprehensive investigation of Colberts remarks.
Colbert on Monday unleashed a flood of insults at Trump, satirizing an interview with CBS news the president cut short the day before.
