FCC to investigate, 'take appropriate action' on Colbert’s Trump rant

Trump was sitting at home repeatedly dials the FCC complaining as an "anonymous tipster."

After several calls, the line assistant said "please go to bed mr trump" at which point the president made an D: face, hung up the phone, and demanded Pence stop sucking his balls and take over phone call duty. The line assistant did not call out the VP after multiple calls, but instead took pity on him and his terrible ball sweat breathe.

It's almost as if Ajit Pai is Drumpf's cock holster.

I smell a lawsuit.

yep, this is happening more and more, people are getting so flustered and upset that things are happening "now that Trump is in office" when it's just normal stuff that happened all the time

Like, I hate Trump with a passion, but if liberals are going to be champions of truth, actually learn to fact check this stuff, otherwise you're no better than Republicans when it comes to "alternative facts"

I mean, when was the last time we had a dictator light in office?

People should be flustered. People should resist.

I remember when people said V for Vendetta was a joke of things to come..... this was literally a plot point except he doesn't yet have the power to just straight up get people murdered.

Speaking of which, where the hell is the anonymous hackers. They stole the logo and icon but when shit became real I haven't heard a pin drop.

Meh, the FCC had to investigate Family Guy when it was implied that Stewie ate a bowl of cereal with horse semen instead of milk, and as far as I know neither Fox nor the Family Guy production staff got in trouble for it. So yeah it's more than likely nothing will come of this.

Probably half of them turned alt-right and they can't organise shit now.

Given by the news emerging in the Fake News ad thread, he will probably be publicly shot or something.

I agree, what I bunch of snowflakes

I would never be outraged over a minor thing and I am wearing my "nasty woman" tshirt

Yes, we all clearly think the FCC should have gone after that too!

And naturally the two scenarios are entirely comparable.

TV has always had weird byzantine rules about this stuff that is pretty outdated these days.

Worst case is CBS gets fined, but I can't imagine them being too sad with all the publicity and views this probably got.

Those Simpsons complaints are hilarious. You'd think you might just think if you wanted to be taken seriously you would make sure at the very least you spelled everything correctly in your compliant.

Would it be in poor taste to invite several famous gay celebrities and have them all call Trump a cock holster for Putin? I can see almost anyone in Hollywood being happy to do so. Jim Parsons said he enjoyed 'learning the phrase' during his interview this week.

I think they should do that. I think they should take this as far as it can go.

Yeah, I'm curious as to what the actual penalty is for Colbert, here.

Saying cock-holster on a syndicated Network is probably a no-no, just on the 'obscenity' ruling, and while I'm sure there's been equally bad stuff said before now, that doesn't (necessarily) exempt it from that portion of the law.

That being said, I'd think a fine would be the worst of it, but I'm sure CBS will get a ratings bump to compensate if they can work the optics well.

Also, for the 3-tier system...

- It must appeal to an average person’s prurient interest;
- depict or describe sexual conduct in a ‘patently offensive’ way;
- and, taken as a whole, lack serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value,

Appealing to an average person's 'prurient interest' makes something obscene, now?

Where are you all alt-right assholes who kept crying for free speech now, huh?

A fine, at worse.

This will probably inspire Colbert to make jokes about Cockholsters™, his new rooster carrying harnesses
That's how it was clearly meant to be taken.. Colbert has long closely covered bird related topics. For example, his series of segments about the Superb Owl

I have seen conservatives and homophobic people claim that this was homophobic with a straight face...

Guys please I want off this ride.

You can tell them that you a have a gay friend and he doesn't think it's homophobic, so it can't possibly be homophobic.

Also, you can say something like...

"What's it called when you take an image, make it transluscent, and then shine a light through it to make it bigger on different surface? You know, like they do at the movies?"

If they interrupt you with "projection,". follow up with "Yeah, that's what I'm seeing right now."

Has anything come out of this so far? lol

My girl Sam Bee is probably super jealous of Colbert right now. She's been insulting Trump since the beginning of time and she hasn't even received attention from the FCC. She should bring this up in the next Full Frontal and kick up the notch with her insults. :p

She's shielded by cable, FCC doesn't have jurisdiction over her. Only ones that can punish her for saying something on tbs is Turner Enterprises and it's owner Time Warner.
