what makes you think that?

I don't know if the pattern is the same in the US, but in Sweden people are broke in January because they spent all their money on Christmas shopping.Strange pattern where February tends to be a noticeable increase over January for most systems; tax returns?
what makes you think that?
The existence of the Wii U port seems illogical otherwise.
Considering the Accuracy that Amazon Monthly Charts have shown since launch (100%), looks like PS4 should take February. Of course, Amazon is going to be wrong at some point, and the rankings are pretty close.

PS4 - 9th
XBO - 12th
For those that like that info, of course.

the wii u port could have been started even before the wii u launched.
and it seems weird if nintendo was offering that level of support when nis america of all companies turned out to be localizing it.
Looks like the 20 Million announcement screwed up everyone's predictions...
Note for NPD sales:
PS4 hit 20.2 million worldwide sell-through as of 2015-03-01.
PS4 hit 18.5 million worldwide sell-through as of 2015-01-04.
So that's 1.7 million PS4 consoles sold worldwide in January and February.
An interesting tidbit that may affect your PS4 estimates this month.
An update, now that we have Japan sell-through numbers:
1.7 million PS4 consoles sold worldwide between 2015-01-05 and 2015-03-01.
- 16716 PS4 consoles sold in Japan on 2015-01-05 through 2015-01-11
- 13074 PS4 consoles sold in Japan on 2015-01-12 through 2015-01-18

- 13971 PS4 consoles sold in Japan on 2015-01-26 through 2015-02-01
- 14812 PS4 consoles sold in Japan on 2015-02-02 through 2015-02-08
- 17981 PS4 consoles sold in Japan on 2015-02-09 through 2015-02-15
- 23210 PS4 consoles sold in Japan on 2015-02-16 through 2015-02-22
- 46495 PS4 consoles sold in Japan on 2015-02-23 through 2015-03-01
= 157772 PS4 consoles sold in Japan from 2015-01-05 through 2015-03-01
- 189000 PS4 consoles sold in the USA from 2015-01-04 through 2015-01-31
= 1.35 million PS4 consoles sold worldwide in January and February excluding Japan and USA January
The Last Story, a Nintendo moneyhat contracted out to Mistwalker, was published by XSEED Games in the USA.
Small companies can still publish Nintendo games in other territories. It's not unheard of.

Where is the new 3DS on that list? The list won't work for me....

EDIT: ah^^
n3DS isnt on the top 100 list, only the black 3DS is (83) though it must be because the new units are only sold right now by third parties at ridiculous prices
It's not on the list because Amazon doesn't directly sell 3DS systems.

Just look at all of these 1-star anti-scalper reviews:

Anyone willing to bet on The Order being in the Top10 for February? I'm thinking it won't be...
SCEA would have a real problem if it didn't enter the Top 10.
That shouldn't be a hard threshold at all to meet in February.

this isn't a nintendo game though. kadokawa published it and prope originally created it. nintendo published the last story in europe and japan.
Not sure if other stores ran into this, but we sold out on launch day and have yet to receive more copies.....

Isn't the Wii U port the only way to sell the Wii version in some form? Considering it's backwards compatible. I mean without a Wii U version the finished Wii version gets lost to history and possible leaks.
Also of all the 3DS games to pay for a Wii U port Rodea is not something I think Nintendo would care to add to the small roster.
Type-0 is in the top 20 of Amazon best sellers for a few days now. Hope this means we'll see it in the NPD top 10 for March.

I'm going to go ahead and predict that Evolve is a relative bomb:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2015-02/videogames#5
This can't be good, not given the constant barrage of commercials and press I've been seeing.
Shouldn't be too hard. I think it takes like 70-80K to enter the charts during this period of the year. Anything that's not down right bomba or very niche should be able to chart.
Well, maybe not *that* low, but you get the idea.
Didn't Sly Cooper 4 make it with around 100k?
Surely it has to at least hit the top 5 to be moderately successful?
