February EGM Scores

Please someone PM me or post the screens at Opa-Ages. Hell, pretty much everyone here probably has an EGM digital subscription anyway.

While the images look good anyway, they are all bigger than the DSs actual screen size (well, except that tiny one), so expect it to look a bit sharper in reality.

No doubt... The DS screen looks totally fine to me. I am not really complaining, since there's no way to fix it.

Bah to this.

Is there a Japanese equivalent to GAF that will allow people to post American scans like we can Famitsu scans? :P

Pissed that I cant even buy the
Magazine, what with being Irish and all...

Damn this looks fine, really cant wait to hear it aswell, DS's sound capabilities will finally do castlevania's composers some justice. I wish that the action would take place on the top screen and not the bottom one though, but maybe that will change eventually like it did for metroid hunters.

Is AoS anything like HoD?
I lost interest in HoD when I hade explored about 60%... I lost the progression and the amount it backtracking turned me off.

The backgrounds in Castlevania DS look great, much more colorful and detailed than the GBA games, much closer to SotN.

They seem to be reusing a lot of sprites from the last GBA game though, seems a little cheap. Hopefully the animations on them have been redone or added to.

Castlevania DS = bleh

Wario64, we're going to have a little chat about this thing called dissenting opinions.

Wherein we surpress the voice of the common people. You being common, of course. :D

It better look good in motion cause this can be mistaken as a GBA game easily. I bet someone would take this as Aria of Sorrow if you didnt tell them it was a new Castlevania DS game

And they better have something more than connect the dots and simon says for the touch screen

Connect Four multi!

Pfff, some of you guys need to go back and look at Aria of Sorrow screens.

Symphony of the Night too, which it looks on par with.

I think your memory might be failing you. Aria of Sorrow doesn't look anywhere near as good as these screens. The character sprites are larger and way more detailed, and the backgrounds have more color, depth, and detail. When you see it in motion, animation and parallax will likely be significantly improved as well.

Aria of Sorrow right there. Not even close.

Ok, I was looking over the TOS and I don't know if this is directly against the rules or not... so just tell me to take it down if it is.

Yeah it is against the rules. -Mgmt.

Have you people NOT seen the pictures on the 3rd page of the EGM article? You have to be freaking blind to confuse that with a GBA game. It's *very* close to SotN.

"This is the end, my only friend, the end"

Actually, you might just get away with it.

Hey, the google ads want me to buy DJ Smurfs CD. That's thanks to me that is. God I'm great.

It looks horribly disappointing - and I'm not saying this to rile people up. 'Connect the dots' is an adequate description.

Heh.

If it's going over the line I'll take it off. I just thought it might not exactly qualify for one of the three rules, although it's playing it very close to partial-scan. I don't know. If they want me to take it down I will, but I thought it was appropriate.

welcome to gaf

mario kart DD is unveilled "omg looks like n64"
MGS TTS is unveilled "omg looks like psx"

gamers have warped memories or overloaded with nostalgia i tell ya.

I'mloving how it looks so far, especially after seeing the images at their normal resolution, the backgrounds look a lot more detailed than before and really stand out. Some of the enemies do look the same, but Soma has definitely gotten more detailed, plus they took out the aura. No need for it this time around! The boss seal mechanism doesn't seem to really hinder the orginal gameplay at all, as it's something you do after fighting a boss normally, so I'm not bothered by the addition, though I don't find it to be very necessary.

I wanna know more about this customized maps though, and the music! Props to Johnny Nighttrain though, I believe he did say we'd be getting CVDS news around now, and I think some news with Boktai as well? Can't wait.

Regarding old Capcom arcade games, there was Commando, 1942 and 1943, Ghosts 'n' Goblins, Gunsmoke, Section Z, Black Tiger, Legendary Wings, Trojan.... hmm, those are the only ones I can think of at the moment.

Question to the person with the EGM, at the bottom of page 84, apparently the final Castlevania page, there's an arrow pointing to the next page. That signifies the article continues, right? What's on page 85? Is it another page of Castlevania, more DS info? What's the deal?!

The article is about NintendoDS and/or handhelds. My guess is that it is another DS game or PSP.
WELL WHAT GAME IS IT?

Also, I'd like to know: What are EGM's Top 10 Consoles? Last month, they had the Top 10 Most Important Games, so I want to know what the consoles were this month. GET ON IT BECAUSE MY ISSUE DIDN'T COME YET.

I'd like to see some Final Fight and Captain Commando beatemup love.

*sees screens*

I'm not impressed (looks just like SOTN!) but at least it looks more interesting than DS titles. Saddened at the 2nd screen map copout but outdoor areas and possibly being to create custom maps with them may be good

I wouldn't mind knowing what other games were in the article either. Castlevania looks ace, 2D gaming's still going strong on DS.

Goemon looked fun too, plenty of nice Konami support.

I might try Boktai this time too. Haven't bothered yet, I don't like the sound of the sunlight mechanic. It'd be fine if I could just use lamps and things, but I hear the sensors can detect that it's not sunlight or something.

The other games past page 85 are Nanostray, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart DS, Touch! Kirby, Super Princess Peach, Pokemon Dash, Yoshi's Touch and Go, Atari Classics, Frogger, and Warioware Touched!.

They also showed PSP, GBA, N-Gage, Zodiac, and Gizmondo games.
