I guess the network is still a thing.

I would pay $150 a year for perfect quality HD streaming of WWE PPV's, $200 if it included Live HD streaming of Raw/Smackdown etc.

Did WCW have a Women's wrestling division? I don't remember them having one.
i think they just fought eachother with no belt or anything. what i mostly remember was this one black lady running to the ring and her boobs fell out. first boobs i ever seen (outside of baby time).

They started one in 1991 that ended by the end of the year, and then they started a real one with a title in 1996-1997 which was basically just Madusa vs Bull Nakano and Akira Hokuto. Hokuto won the title and went back to Japan, but they still recognized her as the champ despite her not being on WCW shows for like 6 months. So they dropped it without any fan fare. They tried it again in late 99 and the first few months of 2000 with Oklahoma heading up the division.

That kind of died out and they had Nitro girls wrestling and involved in stuff, but no official division or title.

Don't forget Luna Vachon randomly showing up in WCW for a PPV in 1997 too.

There wer a lot of random Japanese girls showing up, Sherri Martel showed up in 2000, random GLOW women on Thunder. They stopped having actual female wrestlers and instead would have valets wrestle.

Yeah, when the Russo/Bischoff era started, they cut all the actual lady wrestlers and just started making the valets wrestle. Kimberly Page said this was why she quit. She said Russo kept insisting on her wrestling and she got sick of telling him she's not a wrestler. Miss Elizabeth also quit over this I think too.

Having went to that Bound for Glory in person (no way on Gods Green earth I was missing seeing Liger in person,) I can say that night was in a word hype. I mean that crowd was on fire. I guess that is what it must have felt like to go to an ECW show back in the day. I've been a tna fan from day one and I've stuck thru some Grade A shit (bubba the love sponge) because of how good the early days were

That's what they say, but Kim was taken off TV when Bischoff was taken off TV and didn't come back after Bash at the Beach. She wrestled I think 2 matches, one of which was a mixed tag where she wasn't involved at all. Liz was taken off TV around the same time because Russo was off TV for 2 months and Lex took time off, so it didn't make much sense for her to be on TV without Lex or Russo. She had a handful of matches, too, but she went off TV when Russo and Lex went off TV.

She didn't come back when Lex came back. They didn't even have matches, they had physical angles. WCW fired pretty much all of the women around the same time anyway.

The story I heard back then was that they showed up to Thunder one day and saw "Luger/Liz vs. Awesome/Kimberly" on the board. Kimberly bitched about continually being asked to wrestle, so she left. Then, an issue came up where Russo wanted Liz to get put through a table and she said, "Uh no" and left too. Then Luger refused to job to Awesome in a one-on-one match and Russo sent Luger home. I know that last part is true (at least it happened) because Russo went on the WCW.Com radio show and totally ripped Luger for it.

That doesn't really fit with the time line, though. Kim was off TV a few weeks before Liz and Lex went off TV. The "Russo makes Liz wrestle" angle kept going even after Eric and Kim were off TV. Why would Russo send Lex home weeks after he refused to job to Awesome? Anything that happened or was said on WCW.Com by anyone should be suspect.

Yeah, you're about to hit the part where they cut costs and start doing Nitro and Thunder on the same night. Those Thunder episodes are seriously the worst shit ever. Even worse than TNA at it's highest Russo delirium.

Actually, the next show I'm about to watch is the first of the double tapings. They started it with the last shows in Australia, so the upcoming Thunder is the first one. Thunder already is a heatless, effortless mess of a show full of production errors and everyone phoning it on. Not even phoning it in. Texting it in. An additional 2 hours for the crowd to sit through with guys working double or triple duty? Fuck me. Fuck Mark Madden. Fuck Konnan.

The good news is Mark Madden gets legit fired from WCW soon because he keeps breaking a company directive to stop mentioning Scott Hall's name on TV.

Inching closer. Managed to grab a Bo Dallas on Community Creations before it shit the bed. There were only 3 of them out there! With very few downloads!

I think I got trolled into buying a Daniel Bryan shirt today at Hot Topic by two fat, wet-looking dudes one wearing a Stone Cold shirt where he had Rattlesnake arms and the other wearing a slipknot shirt with a big ass hole at the lower-end of the shirt.

Stone Cold being "fired" is amaizng. Such emotion, the crows throwing stuff at vince, cheering for Austin, plus taker and Kane had an amazing match.

Crowds today suck except for a few cities

I'm surprised Vince still books shows in NYC, Chicago and Philly. You'd think he'd do absolutely everything in his power to distance himself from those great wrestling crowds... at least for live TV and PPVs.

I suppose only Toronto must suffer for the sins of the others.

Maybe they won't go to Canada because of all of that free health care and marijuana that Canadians are always smoking. We can't have that Socialist stuff in a PG environment.
