Now that Switch 2 should be out this year (unless Nintendo is getting really stupid), it shouldn’t be an issue porting Remake over. Rebirth? Eh, we’ll see.

I think Square overestimated how much people like FFVII. They probably though this being FFVII would instantly guarantee high sales and they could get a high selling trilogy with minimal risk out of this.

Personally I like the games though, I vastly prefer this approach to a 1:1 remake and I think Rebirth is one of the best AAA games they have put out in ages.
But it's clear the overall audience hasn't felt as strongly about them.

Still haven’t started rebirth. Was waiting for the pro and going to jump in soon. By all accounts it’s bloated AF but I need a winter game to get me through the next few dark months before spring. This is a good thing, don’t really care if it comes to other platforms. Doesn’t affect my enjoyment whatsoever.
