What some are missing on this subject is that there have been enormous improvements in women sports in the last 10-15 years.
So much more money invested, more interest, more professionalism, steady improvement of quality.
It's not the same standard as the men's and in most cases never, ever will be but can still be enjoyable to watch, entertaining and skilful and it keeps improving in a virtuous circle.
We just had the Football (Soccer) European Championships where I live and it was great, stadiums were full, lots of exciting games, some great skill from the best teams and a lot less playacting.
Young girls watching things like this and getting into sports, dreaming of being pro, on TV etc. and being able to play as Caitlin Clark or whoever in video games is just a part of that.
I've no idea why this is a bad thing, it's not a zero-sum game.
