I just played some pussy using a 5-1-4, that was more like a 6-0-4 because of how deep the CDM was.. somehow I created a million chances and still lost 3-1.. all his playing consisting on just booting it away all game long and hope to catch a chance.. then one corner goal and a rebound from my player that deflected after the goalie already dove.. so fucking frustrating ugh.. how is it even fun to play that way when all you do is boot it from your defender and hope it goes to Neymar..

Does anyone else here spend a good proportion of their time with FIFA screaming at the television, or is it just me? Playing this game online right now is like trying to thread a needle wearing boxing gloves. I'm getting very, very fed up with being on the shitty end of the p2p connection in nine out of ten games. Feels like I'm playing on rohypnol while my opponents are on Red Bull.
I always forget what it feels like, though. Every time I boot up FIFA 13 it's with eager anticipation about the good competitive fun ahead. Shame it never seems to materialise.
I seriously question why I even still own this game.

Move implementation is a joke.. don't misunderstand me, the Move controls are very good, but you can use them only in a Move mode that is a local match. I can "understand" -_- that they were so lazy that they couldn't implement it in online modes, but even in the offline career mode? Seriously? Talk about false advertising. And the funny thing is that this little "detail" isn't mentioned in any review I've seen in the web. And as I said, its a very sad situation, because the Move controls are great. But yeah, EA blahblah you know ;_;

Just got the game and love UT, never played it in 12 or 11 before but it's great.
So am I assuming correctly there is no legacy defending in FUT/Online? I play tactical anyway but just want to know as that changes competition a lot...
And if there are GAFers that want to play occasionally (I am yurop gmt+1) I'm just gonna throw my XBL GT in here

I think I'm done trying to only play with my 4 star 76 rating American team for a bit.
Made it to first division and have snatched a few wins, think Im 4 and 2 currently.
But...Im almost certain that if I spent the money and did the work creating a blockbuster team like every opponent I face has I could just steam roll the competition. Seriously, I have never encountered so many bad FIFA players then those I face on FUT with 80+ 5 star teams. I feel embarassed for them when Grahm Zusi has a hat trick...
Its like these kids spend all thier time devouted to FUT yet never play versus a human opponent. Take away thier super high pace strikers and they couldnt score if thier life depended on it.
But..its frustrating as shit to work my ass off, dominate the game in passing/shot attempts/tackles etc.. yet lose due to my players lack of finishing or skill.
Jozy Altidore and Eddie Johnson have a bit of a problem finding the back of the net FAAAAR to often.
Havent decided yet what squad to make, thinking about a Bundesliga squad.

Just played a cup final where the guy scored from 45 yards with David Luiz, just blasted it. And he kept trying it with loads of players and was always getting corners or almost scoring. His team had an average of 77 yet all his guys were stronger and faster than mine. We both had Diaby and his Diaby was about twice as fast, he looked more like Ronaldo. His other goals were also blasts into the top corner from crazy angles with pretty average players.
Massively confusing. Sometimes I swear player ratings don't mean anything, your team will either be faster or stronger or slower and weaker and you just have to deal with it. So why spend money on big players when a 77 rated player is just as likely to have a good game vs a bad game?
I suppose that's why so many people are pace a users cos even on a bad day they should still be able to run fairly fast.

haha, I'm so dumb. I just spent all this time and coin converting players I bought for a team to a 3-4-1-2 when I actually wanted to change them to a 3-5-2. Silly me.

Just won one of my toughest matches ever with a winning goal in the 89th minute followed by an injury time penalty save...... "EA servers can't process my request" and its now a DNF, winning matches is hard enough without being handicapped by the game and losing 3 points.

So many frustrating things I have no control over losing games for me.

I'm still using the 4 star, 100chem, 76 rank team but c'mon its like I can have a great tight game versus a 5 star 100 chem team one minute then my next 3 games a 50 chem team can play ticky-tacky all around me, have defenders who run my forwards down from 20 yards out, and keepers make MUTIPLE saves...while Tim Howard (my keeper) shits the bed on weak shots.

Congrats! For my first Div 1 UT win yesterday as well, felt like I HAVE COMPLETED FIFA 13
7-1-0, undefeated too.Regarding the "big games" like the further you progress in a cup, I think people start spending on training cards. I think goalkeeper +10 all on Casillas will one day cause me to get a rage-induced stroke. I had 10+ shots first half with him stopping everything, although 2nd half switched to crossing across the goal and leaving him stranded. But it's ridiculous how those cards affect gameplay. A +15 pace card is another killer.

So, I dont know if the game could sense my frustration...but it decided to be nice to me while opening packs.
I blasted through about 10 to 15 packs last night and this morning...and wow, some good cards for once!
And it doesnt look like he goes for a bunch of coins (I could be wrong) but I have more Vangners then I know what to do with! lol

I only play unranked one-off matches against randoms, no UT, and nine out of ten matches are like this for me. It's fucking bullshit, it really is. EA can fuck off with their lies about outside influence as well. If I'm winning 1-0 I can fucking guarantee my opponent will equalise in the last minute by just walking through my defence and passing the ball into the net from 25 yards while my goalkeeper acts like it's smeared with dog shit.
Every fucking year I kid myself that FIFA will be great, and every fucking year I'm left £45 poorer and £45 dumber.
I know that feel, bro... And next year we're gonna buy it again...

I just red carded for "being" tackled...dude slid tackle me, all game, my players were flying in every direction...I get a red cause my guy knocked him down while we were both getting up...Couple yellows too, and I never even touched the slide button, just my players running into his.
I gotta come up with a new plan, some way to score also while also getting a new keeper.
Lost 3-0, 25 shots on goal vs. 5...he had 5, I had 25..
I've hit the rough patch, on a 0-5 streak right now.

So I just got into FUT built up a decent team with 2-3 gold players and the first game i played my first online game. Got matched against a 100% 5 star team. needless to say got hammered 6-0. Thought ok maybe its a one off. Next game same thing happens. get hammered 7-0. So i guess i aint playing a matchmaking game until i manage to get a pretty strong squad myself.

So I've decided to scrap my 100 chem teams and just build a team full of players I like and enjoy playing with. My set up:
4-4-2 (weird, I haven't played this since Fifa 10 but it just feels right again)
De Gae
Walker
Kaboul
Vertonghen
Ekotto
Lennon
Fellaini
Ozil
Schurrle
Reus
Berbatov
So no real superstars other than the two German boys Reus and Ozil but so far Berbatov and Schurrle seem to be getting the goals for me. It's only an 89 chemistry rated team but that would probably shoot up if I got Reus converted to ST and Kaboul to 4-4-2 but I'm not bothered. So far I have won 2 and drawn 1 with them and it got me promoted back to division 1.
Only change I'd make to the team is Lloris in for De Gae but can't afford him so not bothered. Other than that the team feels solid. An IF Fellaini might be nice (had him when he was IF first time) not sure what the SIF has improved but yeah just got to try and get some luck in division 1 now.

My bench is solid with Gotze, Moralez, Muriel, and a few other beasts available for subs. Havnt played in a couple of days though because of Halo

But this doesnt seem as effective in ultimate team, I don't know if the extra params on the cards and chemistry come into play to fuck this up, or if the players I'm up against are simply too good to be stopped when this thing kicks in.

screaming full volume at my screen... rarely helps though
no seriously, i try to switch my formation and use all 3 subs... Most of the times the 3 new players get some kind of "joker"-boost and score after that... (mostly through ridiculously lucky 'enemy defender stumbled over the ball -> SHOOOT' things - but it ALWAYS happens for my subs...)

I'm shit at defending. I've been playing this game for so many years I just don't get as mad any more.
I mean I do get mad but not to the degree as in the past. shit will drive you nuts lol
I am playing a 4-5-1 now so I do feel that helps me at least maintain possession and not turn it over as bad as when I played 4-3-3

Started playing Seasons instead of UT, first time booting up any single player mode that isn't UT and it felt soooo different. For for last 30 games of fifa I feel like I've slowly forgotten how to play the game. First game of Seasons and it all came flooding back to me.
Bear in mind over fifa 12 and 13 I won the last 10 or so seasons I played including a bunch of division 1 titles. Then all of a sudden I have a gigantic losing streak. I'm still in division 1 in UT but tbh I've been playing cup games trying to get my confidence back and can't remember the last time my UT team played well.
Feels like UT has some extra AI influence or something. For the first time in ages it felt like I actually had control over my players. Gonna stick to that more often now and if I still get more joy then will try and recreate my top team in UT to see if that helps.

Wow dude, that's nuts, I have like 30. Sell them all off, you'll be able to make an amazing team or two.
Then if you want a player back you can just buy him back for whatever you sold him for, it's not like you will sell someone for half the price you will buy him for. Use websites like futhead.com to work out average prices for really valuable players.
You won't miss them anyway, you'll make a team and identify the odd improvement here and there and buy them as and when you need to.
