So I've been hearing about this game a lot, what is it about? I'll buy a 3DS next week and I'll buy some games for it

Get a circle pad pro or play the wiiU version.

You basically fight giant monster with your friends. Its about spacing, knowing your weapons, anticipating monsters attacks and proper punishes and getting loot. You get better not only by equipment but by your own monster/weapon knowledge. It ticks off that same sense of personal reward when you can fight a monster that used to destroy you not because of your gear but because you have become a better hunter.

We should get some lobbies going in the future. It can't be that hard for online. Seriously, I had a surprising amount of fun with Arcana when playing against an actual person. I'd hate for that to be my first and last experience with an actual player.

Most melee players don't transition to other fighters that well normally.

I find most Melee players to be stronger players in general. Dem anecdotes...
