Fighting Games Weekly | April 1-7 | And after 0-3, he has risen

Late reply, but don't most of fighting games skimp on anti-aliasing to reduce rendering lag anyway?

Yes, forms of traditional AA add to render lag which also in turn has a negative affect on controller input response.

Though, you can use fast FXAA algorithms that do not cause such lag.

well to maintain 60fps on these ancient consoles they would have to skimp on it. Tekken did a good job in hidding the jaggies by using object motion blur, but it's fairly demanding on it's own so it can't have both.

UE3 is cpu intensive so I don't know if they can afford AA without sacrificing some graphical detail. So to answer your question, lower fps = input lag.

This will not be a problem next gen.

So Tekken Tag Tournament 2 ended up having 219 people at Final Round.
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 results still aren't up, but I wonder if it managed to get more than Street Fighter.

EDIT - Ahh, I see that the pre-regs were greater than Street Fighter's final number.

Yeah Marvel should have more when they finally release the numbers. Probably around 350 if it increased by around the same amount as SF4. What I find kind of interesting is that numbers are down across the board. Last year their were 6 games with over 100 players and two with over 400. This year only 4 reached 100+ while none reached 400 with the two best reaching 300+. What was it about FR last year that made it so much bigger? Was it the 15th anniversary thing or what? Attendance was still huge this year, but I think it had a noticeable drop though.

I'm going to chalk it up to Easter.

Easter.

Somehow I completely forgot to factor in Easter. Hell I only went to FR on Friday and then spent Saturday with 3 of my sisters(all live in GA near ATL) and their friends and family doing a Easter party.

Like, shit. It doesn't even have to be a good training mode just give me the opposing character with regenerating health and infinite time and that's decent enough to figure stuff out.

And to think yesterday I held off posting more of my criticisms of Injustice because I didn't want to be overly negative!

Such a great game. Have it on my Vita via PS1 classics.

---------------------------------------------------

Not a fighting game but Smash is at EVO so I'm posting it:

Battleblock Theater is out today. The versus modes are fantastic. Played a ton of this at PAX and the murder/basketball mode is hype. If anyone wants to take a team into versus on Live hit me up.

OBS will put anybody on the show for viewers.

And the Lex infinite might not even work at launch. The build is out dated and some of the frame data is wrong I think. Batman light attack is 6f start and 8f on hit... you can't even link it

POCKET FIGHTER, MOTHERFUCKERS! Why you no link this ponpo?!

Nobody cared about that series sadly.

It's good. All the goodness & limitations of Capcom's PSX 2D fighting games generally (long load times & the animation isn't as good as the arcade version or Saturn). I think it's worth snapping up all of them, especially for Vita because they look great on that screen.

Yeah I'm thinking of grabbing for playing on DAT OLED screen and the occasional times me and my bros or friends have get togethers and play stuff on the PS3.
