Fighting Games Weekly | April 1-7 | And after 0-3, he has risen

Why is Doom there? Thor/Strange is good enough by itself. Doom adds nothing.

I'm completely serious. FFVIII has an atrocious combat system and has a plot worse than what I could shit out on any given Sunday. I might be generous and put FFXII as the worst Final Fantasy, because FFVIII at least had characters, even if most of them were awful.

I am going to hurt you. >:|

I cannot fucking believe that SRK's joke theory team is what this guy is swearing by, LOLOLOLOLOL.

It's all come full circle now.

This is a solid team but Dieminion does not know how to play this team.

Thor has great assists backing him plus THE best assist Bolts. But you need to rushdown with it. Doom plus Bolts is great too.

Hidden Missiles is not a good Thor assist, and Dieminion needs to learn the value of Doom's j.H with Bolts.

Not if you fight anything like you play Marvel, you're not!

Ps Triforce calls it Gyromactic Shield, this is amusing to me, expect to hear Gyromactic on streams from now on

I control what you hear with your eaaaarrrrrrrrsssssssssssssss

Thor gets TODs off of Missiles and he can control aerial characters and go for an aerial command throw.

What I want to know is why Doom is second? Why not Strange second? I mean if he gets a hit with Mighty Tornado he can go into SoV XF if needed.

Nah Thor can definitely zone with bolts, you can get a couple hundred k out of call bolts, l beam, m beam from full screen. But I don't think zoning is what you wanna do against Nova

It doesn't matter, Thor can't protect Hidden Missiles. Hidden Missiles is for characters who can establish immediate momentum, and it helps them keep it (i.e. Morrigan and Dormammu). Thor needs assists that give him momentum. Hidden Missiles can never create momentum on its own. It's bad for him. He doesn't need aerial control, he's already the master of the skies. Thor needs ground control to scare people to going INTO the air so he can dominate on his home turf. Bolts of Balthakk is perfect for him, but Hidden Missiles is not.
LOL Nobody here knows shit about Thor. Except Panda.
I'm pretty sure I've smacked you around numerous times with Thor; my Thor is decent. He's one of my favorite characters to play, but he just doesn't go well with Morrigan.

I sincerely hope Dieminion sticks with this team and doesn't drop it. That's a huge problem with non-Chris-G-players. They formulate something advantageous but don't stick with it. Most are lazy and don't want to start the new time investment.

Awesome. Last I knew you were a desi but not what kind.
What are you? I kinda assumed you might be Muslim but nothing beyond that or more descriptive :lol

He also called Psionic Blaster "Sonic Blaster" earlier :lol

Yeah FF8 is one of the better FF games.
Whoa now, I wouldn't go that far.

Having recently played and beaten FF8 a few days ago, I can only slightly agree with you. The plot falls off a cliff around the last half of Disc 2, but the characters are very enjoyable. The combat system is indeed hit or miss.

FF4 is the worst one by far, though. Hell, not even Nintendo has enough in their warchest to convince me to play that pile of shit again. I'd rather listen to Fanatiq.

He has Bolts on the team already. I mean Plasma Beam would be redundant on the team. Maybe he can use Rocks, I think that will be much better on the team. But Hidden Missiles does get him full combos. And in the neutral he should be using Bolts more.

I'm as vanilla as they come. Born in Uttar Pradesh. Was a Hindu (now non-religious).First language Hindi. Second English. Learnt some Sanskrit in school but fuck Sanskrit.

Spent a lot of time in Mumbai. Moved to Dubai, and now California. Started from the bottom now we here.

I mean you can hit Doom while he's throwing HM with Mighty Spark+Bolts but you can't kill Doom with that, Morrigan can duck all of that, and there's the possibility of getting tagged by fireballs from behind.

Also Thor's fat

DESI-FGC-GAF GROWS.

I recently found out most of GAF-Hop is brown or part brown too, which is super weird as well.

I agree that FFVIII starts off good, which is part of why it's so terrible. It's one thing when a game was just under poor management, like FFXII. I can kind of excuse that going poorly because focus groups took over. But when creativity actually makes all of these dubious plot choices...
-"We all grew up together but forgot lol"
-"Edea is Ultemecia now Rinoa is!"
-"I want to compress time because why not?"
-"Edea is married to Cid!"
-"Garden was secretly made because we knew this shit would happen."
-"There's a monster in Garden's basement for some reason."

Some of the characters are good, some are bad. Seifer is goddamn awesome. I loved him through the entire game. I never had problems with Squall. Quistis, Irvine, Selphie, and Zell are all kind of just there. Rinoa is your female romance interest in a bag. What really made me sour about the characters was Laguna. Was a piece of shit character. I sighed every time the game warped to a scene with him. I was with Squall on that guy - what a loser.

I can't even see how the combat system could be considered a "hit", since it's a downgrade from FFVII in every way, which didn't even have a good combat system.

I stopped playing FFIV, so I can't comment. The game was brutally difficult after the twins died, and I just didn't care. I'll play the DS remake at some point.

Rocks are boss for Thor and Strange. You can do c.L, rocks + Mystic Sword with Strange for safe blockstrings, AND you have enough time to lay Eye of Agamotto afterward. If it hits, you can go straight into jump loops. So hot.

Wtf! My dude!
Do you still play this game? I thought you just commentated.

That's awesome. I'm glad we're not Pop-GAF. Kappa

I'm pretty sure Viper just isn't as good as we thought she was.

Like she's good but not top 5, maybe not top 10.
Morridoom dominance making people crazy. Viper is definitely top 5. Might even be Top 3. Take Morridoom out and Viper won't let you play.

Thor gets optimized combos off of HM, Bolts sets up mix ups, and HM lets Thor gets started.

Thor's mighty strike makes it where Morrigan can't zone. Bolts also make it harder for Morrigan to rush.

I don't get it. Wtf is Thor/Doom/Strange even supposed to do vs MorriDoom/Vergil?
Go for hail mary Mighty Strikes while calling Bolts. Mighty Strikes go through Soul Fists. If he gets near Morrigan he can go for aerial command throw. Plus Bolts plus Mighty Spark can punish Doom for a ton of damage. If Thor gets Morrigan to block Bolts near the ground or at least be under her he can get in go for a command throw.

What I want to know is Doom's role on the team.

I'm pretty sure Viper just isn't as good as we thought she was.
Viper with Jam Session/Vajra is a top 5 character free.

Like, you see what I mean. Players like RayRay get in the hot seat, lose a match, switch back to their old teams. They have to grind it out in those high pressure situations, in tournament.
