Reading a fan translation of Death Note back when it was new drove me insane every time I saw "Raito." That's actually the last fanslated manga I ever read. Now, I study Japanese, partly because I don't want to put myself through the awful experience of a bad translation ever again.

Depending upon what arc of Griffith Triforce sees himself... Gutts is either Justin or Sanford. If he sees himself pre Eclipse then it's Sanford otherwise it's Justin.

The new movies don't follow the format of the anime/manga by the way. For first time Berserk folks that works out better. The manga is still the definitive version though.

That's not nearly as bad as some of the things I've seen done by people who call themselves translators.
 
New fans should absolutely not watch the movies.
So much is cut out, and it's not like it's animated particularly well or anything either.
 
I just hate reading translations that keep japanese words in, have an editors note, AND the word has a direct english translation for it.


Edit: Both animated versions of Berserk suck.

Are they for the scene or do they care more about their fame??? So you guys can go to these majors and place well, that's fine and dandy but you know that fear of fame DON'T work in NYC. Ex. What place did Chris Hu get @DTN2014? What's the real reason why he don't enter Battle circuit @nextlevel but is always there that day to play casuals???

So people outside the B league might ask "why are you giving them so much attention? Why base a feasible venue, entries fee and take a loss just for their attendance?"

1. NYC IS HUNGRY AND WE DONT RESPECT PPL THAT DONT WANNA EAT! You would get BODIED in the B league and you know nyc will eat your food. You skills are slacking and out of date fellas. Yeah, those are awful. Worse is when it's not even a special term and it only occurs once in the work, and the English replacement drops in perfectly.

I asked him back in Nov when he was in Peru and he said 28.
Btw is Chris G really 23? I asked him last week and he said he was 23, I wasn't even drunk so I'm sure he said 23, he looks somewhat older than that, I am 23 and I look a lot younger.

I don't want to generalize, but why do all the FGC people who post stuff always write like if they are a 14 year old?

I'm not saying everyone should have proper grammar, but at least sound like an adult when you are one.

There are 3 reasons why it may be preferable to watch the movies:

*Many people like to watch anime but don't like to read manga. So if they want to get into Berserk without reading the manga then they have two options. They also prefer to watch 3 sub 2 hour movies over 24 episodes of 25 minutes each. It's an issue of time investment.

*The older anime has dated as fuck animation and a crap ton of stills because it was clearly made on a budget. And even at 24 episodes it manages to cut many parts of the manga (or in many places completely alter them) on top of neutering some graphic elements. The newer movies while heavy in CG still feature better and fluid action than the old anime. And what they show, they show in explict detail.

*Anime starts after major events have already happened. The major difference being that it doesn't show a ton of aftermath scenes that the manga does. So it's a half way between the manga and the movies in that regard... in that regard you might as well watch the movie which starts
events in chronological order and thus easier to digest (with the pay off being even more shocking if you are experiencing it for the first time).



Ideally you would want to read the manga and then watch the anime/movies. But people don't have the time for that so they are going to watch the shorter anime versions anyway. And people are going to watch what is most recent.

Also exactly what on earth is going on with folks in the NYC area? In passing I thought it was some Sanford blowup thing, but seems like folks in general are just going on about being hungry and calling out people who aren't backing up talk or what? Seems weird.

It seems like harmless competition but at the same time also reality tv-ish.
 
I just read that giant call out post.

Why is Andy putting Chris Hu and Aqua on a pedestal like that? Dropping venue fee in half just to have those two guys enter?

So what if they do enter and sandbag at the tournament? What does it accomplish?


If anything he should say that he would refund half of the venue fee if Aqua or Chris Hu win the B league.
 
No 3D games? Should change to 2D FG guide.

Edit: I made a joke about VF but it turned out no 3D games were listed so it has no relevance now.
