I think FChamp did it first when he made Hidden Missiles standard in his team and then won EVO with it.

Hidden missiles doesn't really force a character change, though. You can beat it with pretty much anybody, it's just really strong and versatile. It wasn't an MVC2-style shift. It's not even like people didn't know how good missiles were before champ, it's just that they liked invincible assists better. Noel Brown was using missiles, my EVO 2011 team was Magneto/Doom/Phoenix. For very different reasons than why Champ plays that team, though.

I actually went through six of them. Launch system, first Elite, Halo 3 model, white Elite, latest black elite and then the Slim. All of them malfunctioned except for the Slim which has it's problems now and then too. That model right there refuses to open the disc drive and the ethernet port for some reason died on it's own so it needed to be taught a lesson. As for me, I'm done gaming on the 360 for the rest of the generation.

I'm luckier. I've gone through 3 consoles, yet I'm only down $145.
- won the first one in the Pepsi contest at launch
- sent in a year later due to RROD, they sent me back 2 by accident
- both eventually RROD, go to repair shop and pay $30 to fix one
- breaks down again a few months later, go 360-less for a few months
- awesome deal on Futureshop - buy $199 console (redesign), get $100 gift card

For some reason all the thread titles mention BC but the news is that Durango won't be always online or block used games, which ties into what SuperDAE has been saying before and what another leak implied as something specific to dev kits and not the final product (probably to avoid leaks), which the source also mentions as being the source of where the always online rumours are coming from.

The add-on thing is dumb if it means it locks out existing 360 owners though.

EDIT: Also would explain why the GameStop exec suddenly had good words to say about Durango. Still, this is far too up in the air and kind of unclear because the same unclear terminology is being used throughout.

Unfortunately a horribly written article, but suggests that "always online" really means "if you want to use any entertainment applications (other than local gaming) you'll need to be online" - which is reasonable. Open question what local gaming content means in terms of stuff you've downloaded from Live. Best case scenario it works like it does today on the primary console - you can play offline. Worst case scenario, it works like it does today on second/third/etc. consoles - the purchasing account must log in to play.

At the same time, seeing Viper get out with a double jump just made me hop back into the lab again. I have a online friend who runs the exact same setup and ANYTHING I can learn to get out of that nonsense is appreciated. For the longest time I thought I could take the guardstun - XFC when Firebrand was near and get a grab, but that was one of the worst ideas ever. :lol

Well the new rumors say you can actually play used games and play game locally without online (ie. single player games). Rumors are rumors but this is really the first batch of positive ones.

Neither Xbox nor PS4 will be having BC locally but at least the Xbox seems to be having some sort of alternative to having it.

I don't think Dark Hole lasts much longer than Jam Session.

Yeah Karst explained his set up but his set up requires one extra TAC guess for him to 3 for 1 your team. He needs to land a successful TAC to build the meter required for the whole set up.

Dark Hole works circumstantially, and it provides a true unblockable. The problem is that the number of cast members who do not have an answer to it are very small. Ways to escape Dark Hole unblockables:
1) Have an upward air dash.
2) Have a double jump.
3) Have an aerial hyper.

So, that's a huge portion of the cast. However, if my opponent is playing a team like She-Hulk/Haggar/Dr. Doom, I can chain unblockables forever between She-Hulk and Haggar no problem. Since everyone knows you're going for the unblockable, you can turn this into a 50/50 situation by letting go of the unblockable early.

Usually, after snapping someone in my Firebrand setup is to superjump Bon Voyage, and then air grab. It catches people frequently, and if it gets teched you can jump into another Bon Voyage to keep up pressure.

I actually have a lot of Firebrand/Dormammu setups, I just listed the one that 300%s a team from one touch.

Technically every game streamed on twitch is copyright infringement. Ultradavid explained this a while back. Game companies could DMCA twitch channels if they wanted even after a game is out. So it's in twitch's interest not to allow something like an early stream that might push a publisher towards legal action.
