Slayer of Combofiends

This is too much.

Don't expect any fighting game news or any news from Capcom at TGS.

Capcom is frustrating.

Well, at least he's staying fit.

Just in case someone actually thinks this is a real thing: It's just a joke.

My Playstation died, so I decided to pick up Ultra for $11 on PC. After a couple of hours with it, I think I can say the only comparably awful online experience I have to this would be Soul Calibur 4. I feel kind of bad for anyone who paid more than fifteen dollars for this, let alone double dip on it. I guess I'll go try to learn Skullgirls or KOF.

I must admit sometimes it feels weird to be watching the evo finals or something, and see the word "losers" at the top of each corner of the screen. I just imagine what that must look like to someone who's never seen a fighting game tournament before.

Someone found an unused feature in UMVC3, basically it was called Fast Swap, that at the cost for 1 meter, you could combo with one character, use the move, and have your point character switch spots with your middle or anchor character.(This was found and used with the Save State Hex Edit Hack, and only usable in training mode) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-_EB440WNE

Holy shit this is like a remnant of the TvC TAC mechanic (which also cost a bar)!

Is the combo that happens after the state applying post TAC HSD or regular HSD?

From the looks of it its applying normal combo scaling which makes this unused mechanic 100000000x better than TACs.

If they ever patch UMVC3, this would be the ONE thing that need to change, switch TACs with this!

Seems a little broken, personally. Unless they were planning on scaling combos differently after the switch.

Unless I am mistaken, the HSD continues from the previous combo meaning it's different from the TAC system which effectively resets the HSD and makes it be "infinite" until you touch the ground.

Otherwise in the video he would've gone into the Doom TAC infinite after the Vergil combo instead of doing the Doom BnB.

The only broken thing about it is the fast switch that can be done in the neutral which means you can use it as a 1 meter safe tag although I don't even think that's super broken.

both that and tacs are dumb for different reasons relating to the management of character/team resources

its too low cost for a no risk char switch and any higher cost would make it useless

think about how costly switching chars is in mvc3 and why it's like that

also it encourages homogenization re: setups and teams given that it would make canned pressure and setups easier by the nature of its accessibility

really it just seems like it has the potential to be insanely stupid with bare exploration in the same way all of mvc3's bad mechanics are

The only balancing they need to do with this is to make this be only available during hit stun.

I 100% agree that a 1 bar virtually safe tag in neutral is too strong but this mechanic as a replacement to TAC is FAR FAR better.

Like it's pretty obvious this was the mechanic they had before TACs. People were suspecting it for a long time but this pretty much confirms it.

i think other dominicans here can share my pain when someone from el cibao speaks ghetto dominican.

i can't help but cringe.

I'm not dominican but I'm cringing with you. Hablen bien carajo! Kappa

EDIT: The commentators are starting to get really creepy with those girls...

have you disabled a lot of things? i could run it with my shit pc if i put all the settings down. sure it looked shit with no backgrounds but so smooth
I mean I guess I could, but I'd have to go through the bs of enabling my PS3 controller too. Seems SF4GAF is moving to PC so I might have no choice but to assimilate..
In reality if I had a good PC I'd play SF4 on that constantly.
edit:
COMP SPECS:
- AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core 2.2 GHZ
-6 GB of RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ 1024 MB graphics card

she got a perfect and ended it with a super with fei long mashing, and here sometimes i screw up rekkas :C

direct_quote what specs you got? i might be able to recommend a cheap alternative or maybe a cheap way to put it up to task

yea I definitely see it better than TACs, no stupid guessing 4-way mixup and doesn't seem to be any way to do an infinite, unless it suffers from the same bug as TACs
