Ultradavid saying that active posters in rkappa would beat Neogaf on Ultrachen.

It's probably true regarding Capcom fighters at least. lol

I would bet every single thing I own that rkappa would destroy GAF. But that's only because reddit is easier to get an account on and more top players (or should I say all) post there.

Ewwww, my light kick button isn't responding much anymore. Feels like 1 in 3 times it just doesn't work. Maybe it's just online eating inputs, but I doubt it.

Well, we have fleeting glimpses of top players in FGW. Like they post once or twice and completely forget that they have an account here, do they count?

All GAF mostly has are theory fighters that may or may not have the console or game. lol

I'm kidding
sort of

There are good regularly posting FGW players, they just don't post here.

But they too would be considered average in the grand scheme of things. No need to sugar coat. Out of all the FGC places we suck the most at actually playing the games. But that's okay. We're more like journalists and supporters.

It pretty much comes down to fleeting glimpses of top players on r/Kappa vs. fleeting glimpses of top players on FGW, and by the nature of GAF membership, they probably have more, especially considering they do AMAs and shit there.

Though I'm fairly confident UD probably hasn't seen more than one or two GAFers play anyways.
And one of them was FSP lol

We don't have time to play videogames too much because we're too busy with med school or being actual doctors. Everyone knows this.

Well, if we're considering Smash, I'm fairly confident I could go head to head with anyone that isn't a Falco in Melee. I'd require a few weeks of solid prep time, though, which is a caveat.

I'll take on all comers in VOOT.

I'd argue that I was top 3 in the US when that game was hot on 360
in a scene that was maybe 30-strong at its healthiest, but whatever
.

how does 4 stand up? I kinda want it
You mean Force?

I only ever played Marz, which was basically a neutered console port of Force in terms of content, and I wasn't too hot on it. Everything just felt too sluggish, and I think level-grinding reared its head in a pretty ugly fashion, although I've forgotten how that actually came into play.

From what I've heard, the Gundam EXVS games do that particular concept (team-based 3D mech fighter) considerably better.

Yes, Force is awful, IMO, in that they slowed & simplified the game substantially. (Okay, not awful if you just want to play around and have silly fun, it does that well. But as a competitive game, ugh. The difference between competitive Force and VOOT was on display in the Winter tourney at Super Arcade and the best way to describe it would be like comparing Brawl to Melee.)

EXVS is so much better. It's simpler in many ways that any VOOT game in that you don't have to jump/cancel to retarget & don't have crouch/boost variants for every move, but it's fast and has a lot of depth.

I'll take on all comers in VOOT.

ever run across my buddy Schooly D on 360?

ASW doesn't want UNIEL hitbox and frame data made public https://twitter.com/dantarion/status/502017516349440000
Reading those quotes... they don't even want any gameplay on Youtube. Which is so ass backwards it's amazing, but :japan:. If they really want any footage up on Youtube, they can C&D it themselves. If they ever ask me to take down anything from anything I have control over, I'm just going to openly say now that they can go pound sand. If they really want to shut down my Youtube channel over it or send copyright notices (of some dubious standing -- I would make the argument that trying to copyright frame data and other raw performance data is akin to copyrighting statistics in sports) to my hosting provider, then they can go do that.

For all my criticizing of Mike Z the other day, I must admit that...

@dantarion I don't understand JP developers not wanting that info available THAT badly; I went to great lengths to show that stuff in-game.
... this is a pretty good answer to all of it.

Yeah, but a pretty obvious one, because why the hell would ASW care about hitboxes and frame data being around?! I can't see the reason why

Maybe it harms casual play by demystifying the process, or something? We're all technical here. We love numbers and boxes. Finding a new frame trap or blockstring earlier is wonderful for us. But casual players might just get annoyed faster. Just a hypothetical.
