Fighting Games Weekly | December 24-30 | How will we free Lando now?

Oh yeah forgot they had their own youtube channel. I was gonna work the old panda magic and put them up sooner but they'd get taken down anyways.
 
And it's snowing like crazy out there. I imagine it's worse up in NY. A typical 30 minute drive took me 2 hours today. For some people, it's like they forget how to drive when it starts snowing.

I would prefer if people drove slow as hell after it snows though, black ice is a bitch.

No one gives a crap for the tech I discovered for DmC. :(

Mostly cause no one cares about DmC even if it turns out to be a good game, most of the omg it's donte/dino people will spew putrid shit all over it. Oh and the Ninja Theory hate crew.

As for me I'm getting the pc version for sure :D
 
They took the Just frame charge from DMC4 and applied to all weapons even the handguns. I guess that mechanic officially goes DMC4 -> Darksiders 2 -> DmC.

The just charge Ricoshot is freakin' hilarious, it bounces enemies around like rag dolls.

Demo was received decently well from the looks of things especially to people completely new to the series. It's too bad this discovery was made very late and people didn't incorporate it into their game. By now people have moved on and look forward to the full game if they are interested.

I would support you but I really dislike the game, even from a control standpoint, so I haven't played the demo in weeks. Wanna talk DMC1 instead? :D I finally got past DMD Vergil 2 and now I am stuck at Nightmare 1. I don't think I will ever beat DMD given everything from Nightmare 1 on is all boss fights...

Basically you want to equip the Grenade Gun and Ifrit. You want to figure out a combo that lights up the dial in 1 string (I forgot the exact combo I think you need to charge the 3rd hit and Kick 13 the last hit or something like that). A lot of the fight is Grenade Shot -> Roll -> Grenade Shot to build meter. Always be on the move but be warned that the move that Nightmare does is dependent upon your position compared to his. If you are in front of him he will do those mini lasers and the giant Ice beam attack. Any attack you are unsure of avoiding, just do shallow jump around with Rolling Blaze. If you are on his side he will do his Spikes and Boomerangs. You want him to do these 2 moves because if you time your Rolling Blaze to the Spikes and Boomerangs... the Rolling Blaze "parries" the 2 attacks which leaves Nightmare vulnerable and his core exposed. If you see him charge up the Ice beam, do the highest jump possible and use Killer Bee to home him into his core and start smacking the core while his ice beam is active.

If you are at his rear he likes to do his Sludge missile attacks which as the name is described sends off sludges like missiles and they home in to you. The sludges can be deflected back by Rolling Blaze so you need to learn the timing on the attack as well (just do a bunch of jumps). You want to attack the core when it's above Nightmare because he doesn't really counter attack much. You can attack the core when he reveals it from his rear but you need to be alert for a counter. If it's above him just Killer Bee to home into it. The combo of choice against a fully exposed core is a fully charged PPKK combo. It does the best damage for the meter used surprisingly. If you have only a couple bars left, spend it on Inferno and immediately un-DT to quickly gain back that DT.

You can have Nightmare absorb you, it can take out a chunk of his health if you make it out killing the boss. I recommend this if you are starting out with him but at super high level no one does this because it denies the Special Bonus S rank (as it counts as the player being hit). Even at DMD mode the actual absorption does minimal damage so I say go for it. There is one moves with the core that Nightmare does where he lights it up like a disco ball. I don't remember quite what it looks like or if he even does it in the first fight but it's very lethal and you need to have an eye for what it looks like. If the core shines a funny color stay the hell away from it. You should know the time the core is vulnerable in certain states so you know when to back away from it.

One last important thing to know is that in the event that you get frozen from the ice beam... immediately Devil Trigger to break out of it. If you get frozen and if you don't have DT then you will most likely die instantly.
 
Thanks! Didn't realize Nightmare's attacks are relative to my position.

Is there a way to manipulate Nightmare's core color? I keep getting my Devil gauge sucked away. Also, why does Nightmare have this red electric thing surrounding itself sometimes? Is it the DT mode? Am I just taking too long with my attcks? Because I took away half of its health and was dodging and parrying like you mentioned, then those red thing showed up.

Those red electric things mean he is charging back up and you need to attack the dials again.

Don't worry about him absorbing your DT, just attack the core when he does it.

I get stuck there a lot recently as well.


Also trying out KOF13 (free psn). Mai's 3rd trial is a 1framer and I can't do fucking jump HK-HPxxsuper.

WTF I can do it in any other fighting game but not KOF13. Shit is hard rofl
 
I think i found the reason why the U.S. is by far the best at this game...

they never stop playing the frickin thing.

KOF trial mode is insane- often the 2nd or 3rd trials have 1f links, and the buffers aren't easy either. KOF is one of those high-execution + high-depth games that makes me regret not being able to do hard stuff.
