What it comes down to is: Which is more important? The "newness" of a game, or the amount of players willing to compete in a game? Do they both have equal weight? If not, at what quantity does the number of potential applicants for Melee trump Smash4's newness?

I don't think so.
Ah
moneyhatting budget went to Tomb Raider, Quantum Break and Platinum Games
lol
Rog's retired bruh
He said he'll retire this year, so he's still going to EVO and trying to qualify for Capcom Cup.

Ono will show up only wearing a loincloth, then people will realise he's announcing Urien but won't be able to get hype because deep down they are just embarrassed there's a overweight Japanese man half-naked on the stage

HYPE!
The best is when he throws his arms up and a wall of glass slides across then shatters on the stage.

Too anime

Then again sf5 is almost as anime as alpha already

I remember when I first started watching streams in 2011, I used to think all anime games were shit, anyone who played them was weird and any streamer who dedicated time to anime over Mahvel/Street Fighter was stupid.

I assume this is how the majority of stream monsters feel.

I feel like I'm the only one who's Xrd sticks are yet to be shipped. No reply to my tweets by markman or madcatz and now their twitter mentions are filled with folks unboxing their brand new sticks. Support ticket was answered with 'sticks are back ordered' which is weird because markman said they had about 90 in stock and my order was placed before they sold out

First and last time dealing with the Madcatz store. I'll go through Amazon again since all my triton headsets were delivered on time and I went through Amazon

Didn't LK already do this a few months ago? I haven't seen your yet(I hate twitch archives).

LK went over what it was. We went over what happened to the meta-game around pressure as a result. People watched LK's video and as good as he did explaining what it is, people didn't seem to understand application and the results of what would come later.

If you enjoy modern fighting games outside of KI/MK/IJ, odds are you already enjoy anime. Just accept it. Kappa

I'll post it over here too cause I find it interesting. We did an hour and a half long thing about defensive OSes in P4U2 and how they shape the current pressure game. Neat stuff. http://www.twitch.tv/anneifrank/c/5868495

Cool, will check this out later.

From this quote in the arcade stick thread it sounds like your order got eaten somehow. :/

Clearly there is confusion / misinformation. There is no preorder for GGXrd sticks. The 100 units we put up last week were ordered/shipped. If you never got an email confirmation for an order or have an order number, then the order didn't go through. Simple as that.

You might have had a hold/authorization on your card when it tried to go through, but whether or not that has been fulfilled is another story. I just got off the phone with the head of customer service at our warehouse and if there are any questions, feel free to contact them again.

I understand the frustration here but I'm going to make it very clear.

There are no pre-orders pending at this time other than those for P4U2 TE2s.

Everything else has already shipped.

I apologize about your experience. Please PM me your order number and I'll look into it for you. Thanks.

Online sucks ass in Xrd almost everyone is shit at the game :l

I have over a 70% winrate in my first GG I've taken seriously using what is apparently a difficult character. It's completely bizzare; I never get to throw a lot of people because they just never ever block. I find it difficult to believe there are so many people in online GG who have never played a fighting game before.

Why would a new fighting game not grab completely new people? Also all fighting games are terrible at teaching their players.

Yeah it's honestly really strange how few people block on wakeup in this game. It's hard to get used to normal play if every single one of my pressure strings lands...

Are you saying only GG people would play Xrd? And what I mean as terrible at teaching people is people with no fighting game context, no vocabulary you'd need outside help unless you are a natural.

Sounds like an anime convention tournament.

I can't imagine Injustice being at Evo 2015 after the clusterfuck that was Injustice at Evo 2014. Not anybody's fault, really, just the nature of hot fixes and the XBox 360. Makes the game a huge pain to run at large offline tournaments.

Also, Charlie has a mark on his forehead?

Oh my god he's Harry Potter.

Guilty Gear Xrd teaches you a lot. It even has a tutorial on option selects.

I seriously hadn't messed with Injustice lately so when I was told "hook up the xboxes and make sure you set them to a hotspot" I was like "oh boy this can't possibly go wrong".

Lmao woooow

so his job is just to say things on camera?

from what i hear, people just give me him money to say dumb things.

oh curly...

I am mainly talking about true non fighting game people. But maybe those things work but they need to be put in a way just outside of training mode to get the most engagement.

Um, have you played KI's tutorial?

There is pretty much no way KI could simplify its tutorial more while encompassing more areas of Fighting Games. I believe if anyone went through KI's tutorial they would be well equipped to go into any non-anime fighting game.

also /fuckanime.gif lol
