Fighting Games Weekly | Jan 12-18 | DaiGOAT

I thought Kitana looked very Asian. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just that she's never appeared that way to me before. I really liked her MK 9 look. With the mask on of course.

I swear Kitana is a different ethnicity in like every MK game. Unless Im mixing her up with someone else

I will eventually. I'm still here until I finish my job/projects. We got work to do. :)

I'll be around for at least another 2 years for sure.

Did you guys get around to doing the karaoke competition last year at EVO? I kept looking for it but never saw it. Are you planning one this year?

I finally have an FGC-Gaffer that'll play the new Naruto game with me when it comes out on PS4/XBOX

Battle High (indie fighter) has some elemental stuff that's kinda airbenderish.
Interesting. I shall look into it. Thanks.
Just wait for DMC4 Vergil...
Papa Vergil will be official.

I will actually play the Naruto game on PS4 because now that the series is over and I watched/read it all I don't have to worry about spoilers. I never played the other Naruto games because they were always ahead of what I had seen in terms of story content.

It was a late thought/idea just before EVO last year. Rest assured this year there will be planning put behind it.

Can you guys please quote Shinblade properly?

The original quote is "Who bitch this is" NOT "Whos bitch is this"

Thanks.

Stop watching Naruto once Shippuden started. I still play te games occasionally. Broken but fun.
Also because Lars from Tekken was in it.

If people are this bothered by shinblades pop offs...imagine a world where twitter and the internet caught on like 6 years sooner.

imagine the state of things if dark prince, smoothviper and pretty much the entire mvc2 era happened but with twitter...

o_O

Those times are called the dark ages for a reason.

forgot about the smoothviper incident lol. I remember seeing that one vid of sanford punching a wall

I guess it says more about the state of gaming culture apparel

It's more internet meme culture. This kind of stuff happens all the time for non-gaming incidents too.

An editor for the Boston Globe’s Boston.com who wrote an unverified story accusing a Harvard professor of firing off a “racist” email is facing scrutiny for peddling T-shirts mocking him for a flap over a $4 Chinese food charge.

Boston.com deputy editor Hilary Sargent designed the T-shirt, which was posted for sale for $20.95 on Internet shopping site Zazzle.com, Boston.com confirmed yesterday.

Serebii.net: "the next batch of information for the upcoming game Pokkén Tournament is to come on January 23rd within the Weekly Famitsu Featuring online series on NicoNico."

It seems the next event for the next tournaments is Apex, happening in New Jersey. I can't find anything after that perhaps it's too early. Hopefully Apex is streaming.

So, how many games is Harada working on right now? T7, that VR waifu game, TxSF(lol), Pokken and that f2p WiiU exclusive game announced yesterday off the top of my head! Kinda looks like they're just sticking his name on those games for publicity.

Me and my girlfriend rewatched the MKX trailer 3 times in a row. She loved Kitana and we can't wait for the game. Nice job from NetherRealm. <3

Topanga announced all the players taking part in Tokaigi on Feb. 1st. Looks like it's a random (teams, not char.) 2v2 tournament.

Daigo
Momochi
Bonchan
Mago
Tokido
6
Itabashi Zangief
Choco
Kazunoko
Fuudo
Sako
Haitani
Uryo
Pepedai
Matsuri
Nemo

edit: I was wondering about Haitani participating in this. It was thought that he quit, but he was recently on mix up monday playing with Dogura and Uryo. Now he's participating in this. Maybe he's back?

Hannibal is on this now?

Is this the blowup we were waiting for? Is World Star gonna be the FGC kingmaker?

These videos make the community look like a joke, but who cares as long as we get a good laugh and can make a t-shirt from it.

It's sad that we care more about a pop off or what makes it over to WSHH versus how we treat one another or how the community is portrayed to those on the outside.

So apparently I have no place to stay at for APEX since my friend blabbered about all of us staying in a hotel room or at a friend's house and the hotel room ain't happening for him. Additionally, he's the only one staying at the friend's house so I bought my ticket that might go to waste if I don't have anywhere to stay at, I don't have enough money to pay for a hotel room by myself, jobless for now. When I mentioned it to him yesterday he avoided eye contact with me as much as he could, knowing the only reason I bought the ticket is cause he mentioned we could stay somewhere, got pretty awkward when I brought it up to him and acted like he didn't know anything. Since he already has a place to stay at, he couldn't care less where I'm at when they didn't even bat at eye when I told them I had nowhere to stay and he was the one telling me to go. I would commute, if it wasn't 2-3 hours to get there... where did I go wrong in my plans? I should have probably talked to the other guy (the one letting the hypeman who got me to buy the tickets stay at his place) next time and see if this guy is BSing or not. I was really excited for APEX since its the second tournament I would have ever gone too, tournaments rarely happen in NY and NJ is once a year but now that dream is almost dead. Hell I couldn't even stay the entire time at DTN cause I didn't have a place to stay at and it was also 2 hours to get there. Any opinions to my situations? I honestly don't know how to feel cause if I left my negative emotions get the best of me, I would call the living shit out the guy who pretty much made me waste my money.

Edit:

Horrible english, too lazy to edit.

Anybody who thinks that these popoffs are representative of the scene as a whole arent worth bothering with. Caring more about popoffs over the well being of the community...really? If thats what you think this scene has become maybe you should spend less time immersed in popoff news. We have people of all colors ages and backrounds playing together at tons of tournaments and these incidents dont happen all the time. Who cares about the people that think angry popoffs are what the scene is all about?

It is in my opinion that the pop off itself was pretty tamed although I can admit he was obnoxious. Still no different from how justin Wong acts when makes an Akuma come back. The only reason why people are talking about this is because an audience member decided to get involved.

The context is pretty clear that the pop-off was because of the side bets, so I think it doesn't seem that excessive. Even spooky was like "lol, the dude was like wtf and why was someone grabbing him?", when he talked about it yesterday.

Heh. I had the same thought yesterday:

So how many projects does Harada have on the fire now?

Pokken
Tekken 7
Wii U exclusive F2P/co-op game
Virtual Reality thing

Rise of Incarnates

Tekken X SF is hopefully cancelled but I doubt it.

Though I don't think it's a publicity thing. Probably more like he's got a more senior, Miyamoto-type role at the company to oversee a lot of projects.

This is why I'll probably never get to play a One Piece game.

It's what I think is the case with some folks. It's more about the drama than the positive aspects of the community. I also feel that this is a problem in some corners of the FGC, though not the FGC as a whole.

I do think each FGC is different in terms of culture- the SC comm is not like the SF comm is not like Anime comm. It's much worse in certain communities than others.
