So what characters have won AE majors (or high profile events like Topanga/SF25th) this EVO season? Here's the list I was able to put together:

CEO - Xian - Gen
UFGT - Alex Valle - Ryu
ECT - Justin Wong - Rufus
Topanga - Sako - Evil Ryu/Ibuki
NCR - Infilitration - Akuma
SF25th - Infiltration - Akuma
FR - Infiltration - Akuma
SEA - Gamerbee - Adon
WB - PR Balrog - Fei/Balrog
SCR - Infiltration - Akuma/Hakan
Dreamhack - Popi - Cammy
Canada Cup - Xian - Gen
Civil War - ChrisG - Sakura
Season's Beatings - KBrad - Cammy

Decent variety for the winners (1/4 of the roster represented) and that doesn't even touch the top 8s. Of course the main point here seems to be if Infiltration attends, he wins. Edit: not really - seven tournaments, four wins.

If it indeed was RayRay that was the player that was rooting his GF his spot will get blown up on this weeks On Blast Show. Personally Noel should have let it go plenty of women in the sea. Not worth going to jail.

Also, kotaku article is a bash up. Come on now him being a FGC top player has as much behind this charge as him being fucking black. So, lets cut the bullshit and admit the wright up is for hits and to further paint the FGC as a disfunctional animal zoo.

I agree that they are playing it correctly, I disagree that the game is defensive, boring mess.
But I liked CvS2 and Soul Calibur 2 and those 2 games would bore crowds into a frenzy.

I'm pretty sure people are complaining more about the distinct differences between the way Kotaku (and other sites) cover eSports and fighting game events.

For all the talk about Cammy being top and Cammy beating Akuma. That's a lot of Akuma. Then again, it is pretty much Infiltration winning most of the events he attends.

Kbrad isn't going to do it again. Is Popi coming over to beat Infiltration again. Can he? Or is Infiltration like Doomsday where you can beat him only?

I think I remember he said he wouldn't come, but then there was some kind of donation drive to make him come. Don't know if it was successful or not.

It was a dude that caught his ex-gf with a "co-worker" and overreacted. It was hours after CEO, not during.

Same thing happens everywhere everyday and nobody bats an eye, unless it happens in the FGC. Then it gets turned into something bigger than it is. This would have blown over by next week. But not anymore. Kotaku made sure of that.

It'll blow over now that the full story's out. The Kotaku article wasn't "bad', but they wrote it because they're sleazeballs.

It's really unfortunate things played out that way, but domestic violence is really serious in Florida, he might be tied up for awhile. Whether he intended to hurt her or not, the state itself will likely go hard on him. I know a guy who was in similar situation in FL.
