I just wanna thank Juicebox for that writeup earlier and for that footsies vid he put. As well as whoever posted that SRK link. Totally opened my eyes on another side of SF that I had never noticed before. It's like I'm learning a different game now.

That being said, I think I wanna put some time into ST and a KOF game to help with my focus on footsies. For those that play the KOF games, which community would you say is the most active? 98, 02, 98UM, 02UM, or KOFXIII? I would naturally lean to KOFXIII, as there was a time when I tried to actively learn how to play, but it seems as if the community around the game has fallen off a cliff over the last year :/

The fun in watching Chun is the tension and and outside of mirrors watching the other character outplay her (and sometimes aggressive players like MOV). Nobody can honestly say they enjoy watching her fish with cr mk and have 100000 years to confirm sa2.

Time for some love/hate speeches this week...
96t1uWx.jpg

SF4:
Like: (3S too) Makoto (Haitani is awesome)
Hate: El Fuerte, Rolento, Blanka

Vampire Savior:
Like: Lilith (Kaiji made that trash character amazing)
Hate: Fish and Sasquatch

GG Xrd and AC:
Like: May (not many Mays anyway), Potemkin
Hate: Sol, Elfet (most generic characters ever)

I had my Evo Ticket since February, but I finally signed up for P4U2 and Xrd.

Not signing up for more since I've definitely been slipping in both games lately. Alternating between the two while playing UNIEL and dealing with school is compromising everything.

See you guys there.

Hopefully we don't run into each other in pools for that lol

Honestly though, I've been neglecting those two for Smash so much that I kinda start to question why I even signed up (at least for p4 specially considering how utterly destroyed I was last year).

They're all small enough online that you're best served just finding people to arrange games with. Ranked is hopeless more or less.

Offline, the biggest versions in US are 13 and 2k2UM as far as I know.

I enjoy watching people play her. Heavy footsies matchups are just plain fun to watch. Chun v. Ken/Akuma/Dud etc. Akuma and Ibuki have so low HP it starts to get anticlimatic.
Chun v. Ken tho <3

I would think that XIII is probably the most active.

Just find some ppl to play with regularly and you should be good to go.

I usually just turn the game on in the background and minimize it while doing something else until I hear a 'new challenger' sound go off, it's not too hard finding games this way in XIII.

Problem is finding people to play with regularly, heh. Is anyone from the KOFXIII thread still active besides you? That thread hasnt had a new post in a long time.

And the game doesnt pause while minimized like SF4? that's good to know.

between 98 and 02UM on Steam, 02 by far. XIII was never very active on Steam, and had near unplayable netcode (UM netcode is about equal to Blazblue)

98/02 on GGPO were more active back in the past than the UMs, but lots of laggy Brazilian/Chineses, and most of them had terrible fundamentals and tried to get by on execution.

FAB's Xrd 1.1 Tier list exists:

S+ : Zato, Millia
S: Elphelt, Faust, Axl
A: Sol, Ky, Chipp, Sin
B: I-No, May, Venom, Leo, Bedman, Slayer, Ram (left -> strongest, right -> weakest. only for B!)
C: Potemkin

New Page and junk

That thread has been dead for quite a while, best post here.

Another way is to add people you come across from just playing randoms online, I've received quite a few friend requests this way.

And yeah, the game keeps going when minimized (I use window mode though, not sure about full screen).

That is simply not true, XIII's netcode on Steam is really good actually.

As someone who has missed every major since Final Round, and all the smaller events inbetween (my broadband still hasn't been set up in my new place since March 23rd), has there been any new emerging players to look out for in USF4?

I just got into an argument because one guy was saying that tiers don't matter in Xrd. I'm so mad because of real life stuff that I couldn't argue anything so I "lost" the argument. Bleh.

I had no idea Axl would be rated so high. I never see any top level play from him I will have to try and find some to see what he is all about now.

It's okay for delay based netcode in a 2D fighter. I'd say the same about BBCT. Delay based netcode is only ever going to be okay at best. Next gen fighters should have moved onto rollback netcode with customizable delay settings.

Ive given up on new fighters ever moving to rollback netcode.

You best believe SFV isn't. Delay based until the end of time.

Didn't they say that V is using an improved version of cross tekken's rollback?

I havent heard anything regarding SFV netcode. If that's true I'd be pretty happy

But they're blatntly lieing about it.

It's not MK1 Liu Kang.

The real thing had plain pants, white shoes, and no headband.

*lying

this is the only Liu Kang that matters to me <3

they said that-
well ono said, that they were proud of SFxT's netcode (which was rollback if I remember) and wanted to improve on it with V.

Why is it that ArcSys always has to use cork when hitting a character with the nerf bat.

This isn't Ram salt at all what are you talking about

I can play you in any of those 3 games. Granted I really don't practice them anymore but if you need someone to play with, I'm willing to go. steam id simsiriphanh

Maybe they used Aluminium and that's only how far they managed to bring her down.

I mean Just look at Norn in Maxi Boost, multiple rounds of nerfs and still top tier.

Sure, I normally play during the night but there are some exceptions, like maybe today pending on some circumstances (I fucking have to stop to the post office because they said they delivered my wii u controller but it wasn't in my goddamn parcel box. FUCK THE USPS).

Join the club.

Arcsys always manages to nerf my characters to the ground while keeping the real bs characters relatively untouched. #fuckElpheltZatoMillia

Added. The journey to learn KOFXIII will be hard and arduous.

UK's Infexious just blew everyone's mind this weekend at FFM Rumble in Germany using Hugo. Got 3rd place and beat Tokido's Akuma. It was super hype.

You guys should make sure to check out vids for your characters in Juicebox's channel (he didn't cover the entire cast but still quite a few), the vids are really thorough and helpful.

The system/mechanics/tips vids he has done for XIII are also really good.

The Dreamcancel wiki is also worth checking out.

My team will 100% consist of EX kyo, EX Iori, and either Terry or K'. Unfortunately Juicebox doesnt have vids of K' or EX Iori and I know K' is hard as shit. Might just force me to go with Terry.

Terry is definitely easier than K' but K' isn't so bad tbh, you can do well with him without getting too complex because his kind of pressure can be very effective.

I'm still trying to figure out who I wanna play.

I'm trying to break it down from Benimaru, Joe, K', Leona, King, Kula, Mature. Maybe when I learn more on the character's I'll have a decision.

I don't think there's anything confirming this. There's lip service that's talking about improving the online experience... but they also said they were proud of SFxT's netcode, which, much like the game itself, was half-baked at best and a travashamockery at worst. The only positive thing I can say is that they are planning on putting online modes in people's hands before they get their hard-earned money with the beta, which shows either some real confidence or some real arrogance. Then agian, given how Sony tried to launch USF4 on the PS4... who knows. So, in short, receipts.gif.

Maybe they need the budget of six months of a bored college student hacking away at a game (with no source access, no less) to create a better online experience... but then again, given how most Japanese publishers treat console releases, maybe they can't justify that expense. -_-

Okay, here is my first upload on the Elgato HD60:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0CZ4ACZ6lA

Would y'all give me feedback on the quality? My PC stutters at 1080p, so I don't actually know how well it turned out. -_- Any and all feedback is appreciated on the video quality, upload title, description, and tags - I am new to all of this.

Looks fine, maybe edit the replay selection part out, have future videos start right before the match begins.
