Vergil's round trip? LOL! I got a good laugh out of that. Good write-up for Rise. Got any impressions of the YRC from GGXrd?

YRC is silly stuff, but it was really fun to mess around with. Time slow didn't bother me as much as I would've thought (neither do Dust cutscenes).

For the usual use of YRC, it's just like FRCs without being strict and applicable to almost everything. I mostly used it on Ky's different stun edge like in Accent Core. They really should lower the amount of moves that can be YRCed though. Stuff like DPs can't be YRCed which was a good choice, but the idea to YRC jumps should get cut out.

Because of Japanese vids of Xrd, I tried messing around with YRCing jumps to whiff punish moves during the slow down. Ky can just YRC into 3H 214K into VT loops or whatever, and I'm pretty sure other characters can do a lot scarier stuff.

Overall, YRCs are actually fun and don't disrupt the game flow that much imo. It just needs some tweaks that'll probably be in the next Xrd version whenever that is.

In other news, I want a JoJo game that plays less like a traditional fighting game and it is more about setting up unique win conditions and landing debilitating strikes. I've been a JoJo manga binge and it's all I've been thinking about. Personally, I don't like how ASB translated several stands into play, but that may be because a standard health-bar game isn't right for it.
Oh wow, that would be interesting.

Like characters could spend meter to set up props, and the props would be used to make their actual damaging attacks harder to avoid, but could also sabotage the opponents' props.

Yeah, I hadn't even gone that far in thinking about it like that. You could get really crazy with it, like having "find the stand user" as a main objective to win a fight based on how characters match up. For example, there's a stand user who's stand is basically untouchable because he resides in reflections (which is the only way to see him), meaning anytime a reflective surface is looking at you, it can reach and attack you. Meanwhile, as a person, he's weak as fuck. So imagine a fight in a bustling city where a player must avoid reflective surfaces while trying to find another player (who needs to be relatively nearby IIRC) who is hiding himself while controlling this stand. Hell, imagine a mirror match like this. Imagine a four-player battle with all sorts of crazy stand powers along these lines! And that's just touching the surface of how crazy JoJo can be.

Admittedly, this moves it rather far away from what's expected of a fighting game. To be honest a game like this doesn't even need to be very well balanced, as a fanboy and someone who likes interesting mechanics, it would be really fascinating to play.

Also wanted to say YRC jumps can also lead to taking advantage of landing a CH too. I've seen matches where the opponent blocks on the other guy's wakeup in case there was a DP. Two outcomes I've seen happens. The guy blocking eventually does a non-meaty 2P and the person getting up YRCs his jump and then CHs the guy. So the guy doing 2P is basically forced to YRC his 2P startup.

The other situation is the guy doesn't press 2P. Then the person getting up YRCs their jump to safely start a blockstring.

I thought YRC only worked on certain moves or something, otherwise your get PRC.

YRCs work on almost anything. Certain moves like DP can't be YRCed.

PRC happens when you RC on your whiffed recovery frames.

Seems like their mentality was opposite with Xrd. Like in AC's case, it feels like they started off seeing what moves should have FRC properties. Xrd basically made everything YRCable and then they decide which shouldn't have them.

If you mean what tweaks, it's pretty much the stuff I wrote above. They need to be more specific on what can be YRCed. Jumps or Chipp's teleport YRCs should be taken out imo.

Yeah I meant the former.

Yipes and CJ played a long set at FGTV a while back. Yipes started the game with a 24-0 lead which was the 3rd highest someone streaked on CJ.


But better than Nemo he definitely is not and even he knows this.

Yipes won Summer Jam.

It wasn't a win with team Nemo but he did win Yomacon against PRBalrog with team Nemo.
 
I don't know the list of streaks but there was one ridiculously streak that some player had on CJ. When the long streak ended, CJ stood up, popped off and just left the game.
I mean, I have had win streaks twice as long against GB, but the fact that there is a record being kept makes it amusing.

Sounds like a lot of stupid fun. You know there's going to be a rebalance. Arc puts out an arcade version. Arc announces a console version, Arc announces console characters. Arc adds console characters to arcade version w/ rebalance later. Arc makes us wait months for rebalance.

We all know how this dance goes by now. At least with their own IPs.

They didn't remove his landing frames. It's the same as in AE2012. Yun's divekicks arent the problem, it's everything else lol.

Unfair divekicks would be Rufus pretty much having Yun's AE divekick in terms of landing frames.
