LOVE MAX!!!!! won't be out for a while. Examu just started working on the console version. And if the trend is the trend it'll be a PS3 exclusive.
Phantom Breaker: Extra is region free on 360 Disc & DD! Now you know. And a easy 1000/Platnium if that's what your into.
Girl Fight may not be as bad as it looks. Maybe this changes after the demo finishes downloading.

Read my post just a few spots down. I basically said that you had to do it MOBA style, do it all the way or not at all so I was sort of supportive to the idea especially for weeklies first. That said banning has its pros and cons which I detailed in my post.
This isn't a new concept or a new situation... people have been dealing with SF3 Chun Li or MVC2 Storm for DECADES. The difference is that now with stream monster and online information being so instant... games get figured out faster and people want to see different stuff. For most other games... this is not an issue because they can just patch the game and suddenly you will see different characters being played. UMVC3 is in a unique situation where licensing issues are preventing regular patches so we are stuck with the game that came out 2+ years ago.

Looks like they're starting work on a new Arcana Heart. It will be using the EF-12 engine mentioned a few weeks ago, and is abandoning sprites.
Hopefully Love Max hits PC.
Pretty much yeah. The Deathstrokes nerf were cringe worthy to read.. As if Deathstroke was destroying people in tourneys...
They definitely belong in the MOBAs though as the games are balanced around drafting (ie. DOTA 2 is balanced around Captain's Mode not All Pick).

Ok.. Obviously in extreme cases like ST Akuma there's an exception.
Also if you need bans (on normal characters. Not God-tier characters like ST Akuma/Gill/etc.) to make a game "interesting", it's not worth playing or watching in the first place. Maybe if Merca! wasn't so fixated on playing Capcpom games and only Capcpom games this wouldn't be an issue.

This post is fascinating. By your own admission then, ST isn't worth playing/watching. Shin Akuma is a normally selectable character that has a lot over the rest of the cast and isn't just an insta-win button. People just respect the idea that he shouldn't be played because of how IMBA he makes things.
Mind you I'm not advocating for Marvel or any other game but the hoops you have to jump through to make that first amendment then the following statement are too real.
People would've put Dante every where even if Phoenix was unbanned because he built like 3-4 meter in a combo, perfect for Phoenix. Just slap Haggar with him and you have the best team in the game.
The reason Phoenix would've been banned was because she changed the way the game was played completely. Not to mention 60% of the characters couldn't even touch regular Jean thanks to saltu balls. The absurd meter gain and lack of other top anchors to counter (and lack of meter removal technology) made her the obvious best in the game.
In every precedence of character bans in FGs before, Phoenix qualified for it.

The base for Extra I'm not really sure about. The original PB was a 360 exclusive but let the trend tell it and the PS3 will be where the people are. For the next week.
I don't think that's what that is. I just think Heart being there is nothing more than a proof of concept of what EF-12 can do. From the video I saw of EF-12 in action is that Arcana Heart wouldn't be nothing like itself unless the case is like KoF: MI where experimenting with 3D is a side thing and not the future of the core franchise.
With EF-12 though it may be time for that Arcana Heart X BlazBlue X Daemon Bride game that was an April Fools joke some years ago. Or hell, just Daemon Bride. Still surprised that Examu hasn't released Additional Gain by now.

At EVO, the ST team tourney was ratio based. So for example, you have 7 points.
Ryu would be worth 4. Ken 4. Honda 2. Chun 3. DeeJay 2.
So you can have a team of Ken/Honda/DeeJay. Total of 7 points. A team of Honda/Chun/DeeJay would be 7 points. You cannot do Ken/Ryu/Honda as they add up to 10.
Back in the arcade vs console days, there were lots of arguments in regards to console exclusive chars. Basically chars that are in the home version but not in the arcade. Sometimes they were banned because the arcade didn't have them.
Most recent example would be KoF XIII (vanilla arcade).
In order for people to not just throw K' on every team, they had a ratio system for many tourneys for the sake of variety.
Top and high tier were good, but nothing like a Marvel game.

HDR Akuma is already "rare" enough. Air fireball locks to left, right, down mix up to air fireball lock to inescapable raging demon.....Which one is worst: being zoned out with full screen fireballs for 99 seconds or being locked down with air fireball up close?
