Does anyone know of a program for Mac that allows you to convert avi files to mov or mpeg? I need it to make an animated gif. If someone can find one, I'll make an animated avitar for you (of whatever you want)

TMPGEnc will allow you to do it. You need the QT plugin to convert QT files to MPEG or MPEG2

You should be able to import AVI into Quicktime player and then export it to MOV.

Either pay the $30 for it, or find a serial number using Google.
