Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Chunk 1 (CyberConnect2, UE4) Trailer, "PS4 Console Debut"

Yep. And that's perfectly fine.

What? You don't want bimonthly presentations with videos about half finished cities, 4 minutes of a car going to point A to B, random clips about all kind of WIP stuff, with non answers to all kind of questions they are clearly not allowed to answer? /s

Any ideas who the English voice actors are?
Going by their track record and the trailer I assume the AC voice cast will be doing the roles and are not just placeholders.

SE tends to stay faithful to their voice actors for characters, for better or for worse.

Steve Burton isn't a bad actor at all I just don't see it as Cloud.

Knew it wasn't going to be turn based but I'm still only midly annoyed, it looks fucking amazing anyway.
Hope for a turn based with these graphics in the future.

Good luck getting people excited about FFXV after this.
I have a feeling people will be buying all 3 KH3, FFXV & FFVII. Each game pretty much a gateway to the others.

I definitely am, I know a couple of other people who will as well.
Just because 1 new game has been announced doesn't mean the rest become irrelevant.

Now if they all launched on the same date, then this would be more of a discussion.

I think people are massively underestimating what XV hopes to deliver.

If they simply stop the information drip feed until the March event and then present the game with a stunning trailer and release date then people will get very excited again.

Yup, i'm expecting something like this
-FFXV = main spotlights for the company, massive presence from March till TGS with the release in Sept/Oct/Nov
-KHIII = small E3 trailer with 2017 confirmation, then a trailer with release date (may '17) at D23 Expo Japan
-FFVIIR = radio silence until PSX '16, trailer reveals 2017 release date; Opening section demo bundled with either DQXI or KHIII

Yeah, pretty much this. Although they are kinda treading dangerous waters with KH3. A late summer/early fall 2016 release would be ideal. Showing it again at E3, but not releasing in the same year would definitely frustrate people.

Yeah, VII Remake will help XV. Suddenly FF has entered the mass space again.

KH3 will do well regardless. KH fan seem to forgive the series for it's misdeeds, but FF fans are much more harsh in my opinion.

That was definitely Steve Burton as Cloud once again. Not sure about Barret's VA.

I'm not a fan either. He speaks with literally no emotion, like he is half asleep when reading all his lines in the same monotonic way.

That probably has more to do with the direction he's being give (See: The. Constant. Pauses. In Dissidia. Or the difference in performance for Laura Bailey in Neir versus her as Phyrra in Soul Calibur V).

I just hope to the old (Square) gods and the new (Enix) that we get the ability to switch between multiple characters during a battle.

Triple Triad should also make a comeback and become a standard in all FF games.

.

Yeah, their marketing reallllllllly needs to step it up.

Is it just me or it is that the PSX FFVIIr trailer had more voice acting than all the XV trailers we've seen combined? :/

A trailer (not necessarily gameplay) at Sony's E3 conference is far more likely tbh. SE won't leave us without anything for a year.

This is Square-Enix.

I think a mention at E3 that they will show more soon would be better for this game and XV. Like I said, constant information for SP and story focused games can really kill buzz. There is a thing as showing too much. (in the wrong way)

The game is at least 2 years off.

I always loved this.

I feel that is a minimal requirement. They wanted to do that with XV, not sure why exactly they backed away. Maybe they didn't the resources to scale it up, but the system is there for it.

The VII trailer certainly showed more gameplay than every XV one after the demo released. Lol.

Great idea but no need to bundle anything with KH III in the west. That game will do just fine. Bundle it with the western version of DQ XI and you'll easily sell a shitload of extra copies of that game.

Hehe indeed.

Dear Square - please go on radio silence now about 7R until at least E3 2016

Pretty sure that demo would be bundled with FFXV once it comes out.

That is, if it comes out before FFVII.... :lol

No way KHIII releases next year, i can bet on it.

Yeah DQ would be better i think, but i wasn't looking at it as a mean to sell more copies of the game.

Of course it'll release before, and in the past SE bundled a XII demo with DQVIII.

The VII trailer certainly showed more gameplay than every XV one after the demo released. Lol.

Kagari stahp.

How can a remake be my most anticipated title? Forget NieR 2 and Persona 5 and FF XV - THIS is what I want - like NAOW.

I can't believe I'm saying this because I hate DLC, but imagine the alternate costume DLC on these amazing models!

Sailor suit set
Costa Del Sol bikini/trunks set
Advent Children set
Snow set
Turks set

I could go on!

Everyone as Barret DLC.
Do you love Barret? Do you wish you had more Barret in your party? With the Everyone Is Barret DLC now every character model in the entire game is replaced by Barret!

Anyone else think the final game might cut some content from the original to "streamline" the experience?

I can see that happening. I'm wondering what parts of the game could be sacrificed without me caring too much too.

Town wise I could see them cutting:

-Fort Condor
-Bone VIllage
-Costa Del Sol
-Gongaga (probably not though due to the focus on Zack in post-FFVII productions)

Some dungeons could probably go too or be heavily abridged and I can see them cutting boss fights. There were some sections of the game where the pacing was weird because you were being thrown continuously into boss fights (Temple of the Ancients, I'm looking at you).

I don't think I mind this too much.

Good point.

To re-create 90% of the original's locations in UE4 would take a phenomenal amount of time and likely mean late 2018 release unless the dev team is 150+ people or something.

But on the other hand cutting some of these places would sadden me as well. I loved Fort Condor, thought that was such a weird little place.

They can't cut Costal Del Sol, there would be riots.
