Not going to lie, I'm genuinely surprised at the number of heart-felt responses I've gotten today. I expected a few "Congratulations!", but nothing to the extent of what I received. It's truly surprising. Thanks again to you all.

Now, we just need Chilly, CCIE, and Shintoki to have their respawn timers expire so they can come back.
That said, I'm very worried about the three of them. As I mentioned a few pages back, I believe Chilly was hit too hard to warrant him coming back. Shintoki appears to be on a multi-month ban at best (he's been banned over a month now), and might be perma'd.
For CCIE, I kind of want to cry. I also just did a check to get an idea on what might have caused her to become banned and.... well... I'm unsure I've ever seen such a hateful reaction on GAF toward any single member. I don't know why she felt the need to defend an argument that would be extremely unpopular on GAF. But she definitely drew the scorn of the Poli-GAF community, which is pretty close to automatic account suicide. Still, the **things** that were posted about her when she was banned (and afterwards as they were dancing on her account's corpse openly in the thread), are the most shameful posts I've ever read on this forum (none of these people were disciplined for those posts at all). Complete and total witch hunt :/

Yay! Yeah those are two other base 5 stars that i have and I landed an Ace last week on a daily lol. Was really unlucky at the beginning. Went all out for Lightning, but I didn't get her. Then got Gilga and Elza (did a few 11 pulls), then tried my luck for Noctis, but it didn't work. I'm really happy of how it everything turned out though!
The way to get this trial easy is with barthundara-ga and barfira-ga
The 2 units that are ideal for this are krile and cerius
Cerius has innate both of them. And her MP pool is too amazing. Also, if you equip her Shiva ir carbuncle, you Will have dualcast cura. Cerius is the mvp of this trial
If you dont have cerius, then krile is the way to go. Equip her barfira and barthundara, also equip her HP materias and equip (2x muscle belts and hp+10% materia) and you are ready to go with any other units you want.

I'm really saddened to see this. I don't involve myself too much with Off-Topic GAF, especially political stuff. I don't know a lot about the situation, but from how you've described it, that really is truly unfortunate. CCIE is an amazing person, and I can only hope she recovers and returns to ExviusGAF as soon as she is able.
Damn, my Krille is only level 1. I never leveled her up. Generally, CoD is my bar- caster. I generally equip her with whatever bar-ga materia we'll need for the fight and go from there. Don't think I have Cerius, either. I'll have to check. Even if I did, I don't think she's leveled up at all. I don't have any muscle belts, either.

I've been posting on GAF for a LONG time. I've learned that if you have crazy political leanings, then keep them to yourself if you value your account. It's pretty easy to do so...just don't post view any political threads. Sometimes it's hard to avoid since our inner-warrior wants to reign down justice, but you have to have willpower or you won't make it. Seen many people get banned for silly things and trying to champion causes that are just not worth bothering with. On top of that, the establishment doesn't have a problem with letting those who are against the status quo get pounded on by everyone else. If you believe in limiting people's rights (as an example), then you can expect to get pounded on by people here and there's not much you can do about it. Keep that to yourself if you believe in such a thing. Nothing wrong with visiting other threads and reading all the stuff being posted. Lots of good topics to take part in on this forum. That's why I come here and post in multiple threads. You just have to be selective about what you want to be a part of.
Sad to hear about CCIE. I hope she comes back with a renewed perspective about things. She'll be missed, in any case.
Managed to get two trophies and do an 11 pull. Pulled a rainbow, and while not Yun, it wasn't a troll (Luneth). Also obtained Ling so that makes it a win, the rest of the pull? Very... sad >.>; gotta have some garbage somewhere right?

Cod is a good replacement. The problem is her MP pool is very límited. And omni veil is a expensive spell. Also, only 30% resistance could not save your weaker units from death

Ok, everything is clear in the new dungeon. The item kill was a total PITA.
Agreed that CoD's Omniveil was a bit too weak, especially once the debuffs land on the party later in the fight.
Event is a goldmine for megacrysts. First (behind the house) and last (right before Nian) nodes in the 5 EN exploration drop a bunch of random megacrysts, making the event quite farmable for them.

I maxed out my CoD's MP with pots. She should be able to handle it. Still, I can give her one of the bar-ga spells. I have the Winter one we got for fighting Frosty. I can give another to a different character to take care of that, too.

I got a couple week ban for the same exact sort of thing. I took the side of cops in a certain topic and was attacked and banned into submission. Maybe CCIE isn't perma banned? Lesson learned though, its dangerous being the minority when it comes to that side of gaf.
Anyway, for this event boss Ive been using CoD and the omniveil skill to lesson the damage. Whats better, Omni veil or Barthundara Barfira? I wish this game had hard numbers.

I need to find better gear for him, though. I know there's the event whip, which I'll get shortly, but beyond that, I really don't know. I have a bunch of stuff I can get for him (Muscle Belts, Kaiser Knuckles, etc.), but they're TM and will take a while. Lots to plan for.

Very much agreed. I'm hoping she's not perma'd. It's not the same around here every time someone falls pray to the banning scythe, as it leaves a gaping hole in the community.

Someone on reddit said that you have to start the animation before the overkill and hit during the overkill. I don't know how true that is though, I'm on my fourth try myself. Didn't think that the item kill would end up being easier.

He also has built in Aurora scarf; meaning every normal attack is a mini-barrage (4 attacks with DW); however Aurora scarf itself is completely useless on Yun (I've tested)
Some examples of damage he does (with Hero Rime buff). With Inferno Rage (which only seems to work on first hit), and his LB (LV1).

Holy HELL. I can farm the Kaiser Knuckles, since I have more Xiao than I need, and I have around 4 copies of Snow as well as Hayate for the Black Cowl. That's a lot of TM farming, but MAN! No Karl though, so I wouldn't get those Seal of Creation. I do have Fencer though, who's TM should line up well with Yun.Fooled around with Yun. The first few times, I cleared it with Omniveil, but it was really dicey even with units stacked with HP. After moving to using Bar***ra, the boss became significantly easier and really wasn't much of a threat (especially after learning how not to trigger Tooth for a Tooth).
I tried it that way twice and failed both times
The esper hit either has to be:
1) The killing blow itself
2) OR the overkill blow (the next direct hit immediately after the killing blow, but within ~1 second of the killing blow).
For espers, this is particular tricky, as there are two phases to the attack animation:
1) The summoning (unit consumes the summon orbs in an animation): if the boss hits 0 HP while this is occuring, the esper will NOT be summoned (too late).
2) The esper attack: This is the actual spell animation attacking the monster. This has to start **BEFORE** the killing blow (boss HP still > 0 ) lands on the boss to be considered for credit. If the animation starts while the boss has already been killed or "overkilled", this will not count.
You pretty much have to time so that the point in the esper attack animation where the damage is actually applied (varies per esper) lands within ~1 second of the killing blow, or else it won't count. This can be quite challenging to achieve without practice (like in the Earth Shrine).

If Belmodar is a beast, chuck the Tamer Whip on him to get even more damage.

Orlandu is a better unit in the long term but Yun should be pretty competitive depending on fight. Yun's limited in gear selection though, which is his biggest problem. Orlandu will have a better selection of weapons and materia for quite a while.
If you have a few tickets to spare or if you really like his sprite/story, I'd chuck a few to try and get him but I wouldn't go whole hog on him unless you plan on maximizing your teams to use him.
It has Beast Killer on it which is nice. If you expect to use Yun in the future, I'd highly recommend getting it for fights that involve those kinds of monsters.

It's not quite a bad as you think.
Nian on ELT has considerable defenses and a silly amount of tanky HP (it's got 1.4 million health) that pretty much lets you grind him down to the last pixel of life and cast away for the mission credit.
Just remember to keep your Fire and Lightning resists up (as Valentus mentioned earlier, this fight was pretty much custom made for Cerius), and don't attack Nian on the next turn after it does Preparation (including dispelling its buffs; do that on the next turn), and most teams that normally clear ELT will be just fine.

Also, given how Nian is built in this event on ELT with 1.4 million HP, I'd expect the Gilgamesh trial to have similar defenses while being buffed to at least 2 million HP for Global (I'd say that this was a field test by Gumi to see how well players are clearing bosses of this type of difficulty for tuning Gilgamesh).
