Right now physical damage is a non factor in our game as we can already build 100% WoL that defends the entire team without taking damage. Even if you can't build that WoL, with Earth Veritas maxed LB (pretty easy to spam with the correct build) + 9S TM mitigation skill, we have access to a total of 94% physical mitigation.
We didn't have a magic only mitigation skill, so magic attacks were and will be for us Global players for a long time, the biggest threats of any trial. We could get around that with elemental resistance materias, Mistair/Basch eating the entire damage for the team (by chance) and the usual general 30% AoE mitigation from Rikku or the 54% from Earth Veritas. Now with this new tool for Water Veritas we can have access to a total of 84% magic mitigation for our teams.
Basically, right now it's possible to build a team that constantly mitigate every possible way of damage on JP lmao.
She has access to those skills for 20 turns and the mitigation one lasts 3 turns.
