Water Veritas received a 30% Magic Mitigation skill on one of her enhancements, this will be game changing and completely trivialize a lot of bosses if not all of them released so far, as long as you make a team with Earth Veritas (LB spam build) and her.

This is low key the best thing in this update and completely fucks the game balance, this is insane.

So enhancements for the Veritas

Dark Veritas: These are very good buffs. DV can basically do DW or DH if he wants now as he gets a moderate 30% attack boost and a 75% DH boost. For DW, you'd use Dark Punishmnet and for DH, you'd go to Dark Blade. The buff to Dark Blade grants him 75% Killer effects too which wild. Impact buff is OK, 30% Imperil is handy enough.

Fire Veritas: So Full Charge Stomp is now 620% with 50% ITD. When you include the element damage, that's basically 1860% for 1 hit? I can see why they left it to random activation. He gets a new trait called Double Axe that lets FV use 2 of the Imperil/Imbue axes at a time too. Not sure how double element maths out but it could be really wild. Axe Mastery is now 100% Attack as well. FV is basically gonna hit cap really easily now so you have incentive to go DH with him if you got the gear for it.

Earth Veritas: Very modest buffs. AOE Cover is 50% Activation with 50% Damage cut for 3 turns. Not shabby but not as good as WoL or Basch. Inflame Press gets DEF as an ATK modifier and a 20% damage cut on it making EV a pretty decent sub for Wilhelm if you don't have him. It's less damage cut than Ozetta but the provoke is more reliable. 25% DEF/HP gain with heavy armor is great too.

Light Veritas: Ultima buff is standard. Saint Shot is now 800% 7-hit Hybrid AOE with 5 Turn -50% Light Imperil. 30% ATK/MAG with heavy armor too. Killer Traits are 75% now. I wonder how Saint Shot's frames work. Might be nice to use with S2 Jake.

Wind Veritas: 30% Attack on passive now. All the jumps got 100% more damage. Potentially good but without some more changes to jump, it's not gonna be terribly useful, lol.

Water Veritas: Whoa, Water Veritas's mag damage reduction is 20 turns after you use it!? If that's not an error, that's sick. It seems like of the 4-star Veritas, WV got the biggest buffs. Waterja with her 100% Water Imperil will make her do 1400% per cast when maxed out. That's a potential 2800% which is great for a 4-star character.

Right now physical damage is a non factor in our game as we can already build 100% WoL that defends the entire team without taking damage. Even if you can't build that WoL, with Earth Veritas maxed LB (pretty easy to spam with the correct build) + 9S TM mitigation skill, we have access to a total of 94% physical mitigation.

We didn't have a magic only mitigation skill, so magic attacks were and will be for us Global players for a long time, the biggest threats of any trial. We could get around that with elemental resistance materias, Mistair/Basch eating the entire damage for the team (by chance) and the usual general 30% AoE mitigation from Rikku or the 54% from Earth Veritas. Now with this new tool for Water Veritas we can have access to a total of 84% magic mitigation for our teams.

Basically, right now it's possible to build a team that constantly mitigate every possible way of damage on JP lmao.

Oh, dammit. The version I was looking at had the formatting still borked. Looks like it got updated. 3 turn is pretty sweet though.

As a new player still getting his bearings in this game, should I summon on the Nier banner? Never played the game so I don't care for the characters at all, just wondering if it's a banner worth summoning on.

Sounds like they just screwed themselves, lol. They can't expect every player to have that setup, but they can't ignore how easy it would make everything. Do they just give dispel attacks to every boss from now on?

I didn't fight the hardest bosses yet, but that would be a good counter measure to this strategy. The latest raid/event trials bosses surely didn't do that though (since FFXIV raid at least).

I have 5* Chizuru, Firion and Zyrus. By resources you mean summoning currency?

Man, JPs and Reddit are a dumpster fire right now about Dark Veritas' enhancements. It's fairly sad and hilarious. He has so much more room to build now thanks to these enhancements and they've kept him from being totally and utterly broken.

Right now his potential best in slot gets him 300% Equipment attack, 220% attack from status. His finisher attack is 900% after standard imperils and imbues or 1200% with a counter. He also gains 75% Killer to Beast/Human/Dragon on his Finisher attack to some of the more common enemy types in the game. This is just with DH. If he had TDH, he'd also get the damage variance. You can imagine how much damage that'll be.

Let me do the math quick.

So if I'm doing this right, a little tired so my math might be off.

Dark Veritas:

Base Attack (Potted): 180 attack
Odin: 60 attack
Passives: 20% Attack, Large Sword Mastery (50%), Darklord (30% w/heavy armor, 75% DH)

Equipment:

Weapon: Sword of Loto (125 attack)
Helmet: Prishe's Hairpin (45 Attack)
Armor: Iron Colossus (15 Attack)
Accessory 1: Martial Gloves (40 attack, 50% TDH)
Accessory 2: Desch's Earring (45 Attack)
Materia 1: Buster Form (100% TDH)
Materia 2: Buster Form (100% TDH)
Materia 3: Sworn Six's Pride - Dark (30% w/heavy armor, 30% w/large sword)
Materia 4: Sworn Six's Pride - Dark (30% w/heavy armor, 30% w/large sword)

(180 + (180*2.2)) + (270+(270*3)) + 60 = 1716

That should be his attack based off that. His weapon will change his final attack number a bit. Excalibur II from Steiner will increase his attack by another 20 and give him Light Element to work with Orlandu. You can equip Glauca's Sword for the same attack but guaranteed dark element. Save The Queen from Beatrix is another option that gives him another 40 attack and is neutral element. If you have Dandelga or Karyuo (both Limited Time units) he can do Fire as well. Dark Edge already has Dark Imbue so it's better to go with something other than Glauca's Sword though.

I also only used Odin which is 60 attack. 3-star Ifrit is closer to 80 attack and can increase his base attack even more with the skill that increases the benefit a character gets from equipping the Esper. It's not as good as the Killers but if we're able to increase the SP of an Esper in the future, this should change. Also, I didn't take into account Friend stat bonus either.

So when you look at this with his 900%/1200% potential on Dark Edge and the fact he has 75% Killer on Beast/Dragon/Human on it as well, it's pretty clear why they didn't want to give him 75% TDH on Darklord

JP has it. It's part of the Friend Level system. The more your unit is used during the previous day, the higher your level. You get a minor stat bonus from it, something like 5% or something, I think? It depends on the level or so. You also get more XP/Gil from quests too, as I recall but I hardly pay attention to it nowadays.

After Jake fiasco, CG Lid finally sets a new ground for breakers. 60% individual breaks (with a 120% buff of that stat on herself) and 70% AoE full break LB. Pretty amazing.

This man said fiasco LOL. Syntsui you may be favourite poster in this thread. I'll admit Jake wasn't what I expected but he wasn't so bad that it was a fiasco haha.

This actually makes me very happy. She is my second favourite after Dark because of her story. I have her on JP as well and a ton of cacs from the raid. I'll start levelling her up I think.

Yeah she looks good. I was going to go for her for the waifu factor unless she was really bad, but she looks good so my lapis is ready. Outside of GL exclusives this is the last 5* base I'm chasing for the foreseeable future.

I'm also hoping this raid gacha is more generous than the Mog King raid. Would really love some King Metal and Snapper Family.

King metal are in the gacha. I need them more than anything else.

This whole situation is ridiculous.

It's pure fuckery through and through and they had no clue how to make him. It's like they said: "Okay, just carbon copy Adam, add a couple of useless skill and make his TMR give opposite buff and call it a day".

Then tossed him into the Gacha to fuck over the player base.

I'm 99.9% sure that Inherited Will is her ability that sacrifices another one of your units to give her full HP/MP, which then unlocks Inherited Memories, which is the DEF buff/LB fill. So it's a two turn thing, plus you're spending another unit's turn raising the unit (presumably reraise will work though, remains to be seen about death prevention skills). Not reflected on the wiki yet.

Her LB also drains 20% (?) of her HP every turn. Small price to pay for 250% ATK, but.

Honestly I don't think Inherited Will into Memories is that important of a skill if you're looking at it for her LB. Berserk is 18 crystals. She has High Tide +, and her Best In Slot is with Aigaion Arm, so you're at 250%. Berserk buff lasts 4 turns so you need roughly 2 crystals to go to her a turn.

The question I have is can the LB damage kill her. And can Retry prok on that damage.

Haven't played Automata (LOVE Nier), but I read that in Automata she has a beserk skill that continues until she hits 1% health?

Maybe that's how this works. Won't kill her but will go as low as 1%.

If it does kill her I would have to think Retry has a chance to proc.


She's still such a monster. I read that BiS for her is something like 1,183 ATK. 1,650 with max LB.

I mean that Materia is indeed nice but that accessory is straight garbage. Resistance 50% to ailments is completely worthless when there are ways to 100% resist them.

Goes with the theme. Add something really good (A2) and add something pure shit tier (Eve). However that shit tier is limited time only. Get yourself an Eve now!

Seriously though, where's the game going to go from there? I know someone mentioned bosses using dispel on us, but is that all they can really do? Pretty annoying. I don't like when the devs don't seem to have a plan of action. I hope they aren't just winging it.
