So far my total resources for nier were:

3 multi pulls
70 tickets (maybe more...lost count)
5 guaranteed 4* Tickets
8 daily pulls
1 10+1 free ticket

I do have 2 9s 5 Eves and 0 Rainbows...i feel you Val, missing a limited unit really sucks. I already experienced it with popoi (yes i wasn't able to get the goddamm 3*) ling and yun (i really like yun and always use him when someone puts him up). But thats the way gacha works. I got blessed and this time i got burned. For now i put up Randi (needs a little bit of extra worl, for a better randi use the one from our beloved potato)
Next banners will be on pause and then i'm excited to see kouri...french man ist pulling his 5 onion knights.

What i want to ask. What is your most desired unit? Gameplay, sprite and Nostalgia wise?

For me it clearly is the ff ix cast and then Yuna. But inwon't hard pull cause no need in anyform. I have double luneth and randi, for chaining the holy trio and fryevia and soon Gilgamesh. On the support line i have Marie and ramza(buuh guni) but no delita or elza. Only my healing and tanking is a little bit weak with EV and Wol As the main guys, maybe i should pull a mystair, on the healing side i have tilltih and bench friends. So i don't see why i should hard pull for anything atm. Ayaka and CG Fina would be an upgrade oc though. Anyway, afterwards i'm all in for cg lid. Awesome breaks, awesome animation and i actually like her in the game.

Oh and i sold all my moogles for a2 and 2b...last time i did this i pulled fry.

Seeing as how I got a pretty significant promotion, didn't feel too bad about spending a bit on the game, so I did 10 multipulls.

I did manage to get 2B (and 2 more 9S, bringing it up to 8 of them), but other than that I got 4 more 5*, all dupes (Delita, Emperor, Lightning, Luneth). Three of the worst 5* bases, and one that's fairly useless (since I have FV for finisher, and not much use to a dupe finisher either).

Oh well, at least I can get that insta-Virtuous Contract and get rid of half the extra moogles I have lying around.

Just pulled 4 gold and of course all off banner. Three of them were beach time Fina and I got my 4th setzer. 😭

Whelp, didn't get a second 9S from the 4* ticket from the bundle or any other ticket pulls today and I was getting antsy while trying to watch Defenders, so I said fuck it and yolo'd another 10+1.

100ish tickets and 2 10+1 pulls total on this banner and I got 3 Eves, 2 9S, 1 2B, 1 A2, and D. Fina.

Pretty happy with that. No longer anxious about getting that second 9S and my mind is now at ease.

Before release of GL FFBE I checked the unit list and targeted Orlandu as FFT in my opinion is of the best games ever created and he just steam rolled everything in it so I set out for him and Trance Terra because that FF game was amazing. Obtained them both. Said I was going to the f2p/minnow side of the ocean, then they announced Nier would be released in GL as well and it drove me back into the deep dark waters of the ocean and I loved the hell out of the first Nier and loved the hell out of Automata. Then I heard we were getting a GL exclusive unit and I knew it would fuck me over in my goal of obtaining 2B. Don't get me wrong I love A2 as well but I wanted 2B. Back to the shallow waters I go. Too many changes going on in my life and too many responsibilities to be blowing cash in large amounts. I'll still drop $50 a month but that's it man, no more.

What I've seen so far is that an imperil and associated weapons (fire seems to be the best) is an absolute must as is Dark Resist and damage mitigation. After 50% shit goes south and is a real struggle.

I won't have time till this weekend to earnestly find time for the trail, but is it that hard?

Robo Trail people were hyping as hard, but it was beaten immediately after launch.

I've noticed a lot of mega whales on my friends list stacking Angel Earrings In addition to stat resist on their trail units. Seems like dark resist is important.

I haven't even attempted. I don't know what it is, I just cba with this one. I do think that prizes are underrated but maybe because it's not an instant power creep I'm not really that interested. I looked into it yesterday and knew the team I would take but I don't have everything that I would need. Maybe in a month I'll do this and bloody moon back to back.

Last I saw, at least 2 people beat the trial on Reddit >.>; We had people dropping Aigiaon the day he released in droves... Course, we had time to read up and prepare for the robot, this new thing trial hasn't been out long enough to know what's up. If it had better rewards, I'm sure people would be more willing to go all out on it. Lackluster rewards just doesn't make me even want to try just yet...

I wonder if we have more whales than F2p? I know people were stacking resources like mad since the banner was announced and I was one of them. Then I foolishly spent it all on the Veritas and only came way with numerous Earth V's. I will say that this banner has broken me and I will not be doing any more money pulls. Double 5* banners are fucking atrocious. Stay strong. If I told you spent close to $1k for a fucking 2B you'd call me crazy and stupid and say I'm out of my fucking mind for doing so and looking back that's exactly how I feel about myself. The damage is done and I can only move forward and ensure I don't make the same mistake again. Meanwhile, others were pulling A2 and 2B from Dailys and EX tickets lol, rng gonna rng.

Sorry for another noob question by where can I see the raid orb counter now? It's no longer on the home screen and I can't see how long until my next raid orb comes up.

So A2 perfect chaining... just got mine leveled to 100 and looking to try this chaining thing. Any tips?

I got two separate 25 hit combos but could not figure out how to bridge them...

I figure I can learn this and then tackle aigaion (no easy access 32 but device last week so I have to do it the old fashioned way to get that fist and fist mastery)

You can't, it's one of those douchey things that ffbe does during the second week of the raid :(

Go to the raid level selection, that'll show you your orbs

I agree it's a stupid change, but they obviously spent money on this Ariana collaboration and want people to do the content

I played that first Arianna stage and actually laughed when I saw the framed portrait of Dangerous Arianna and then later the Mog King. Apparently the Bard Spirit is a lonely sad man.

Well, it's more that the banner shows the newest event in the vortex. It's a shame since the raid pop-up has useful information at a glance.

Got a 2nd A2!!

My luck on this banner has been OFF THE HOOK.

In a grand total of one multipull, 45 tickets, and dailies I've scored:

Two A2
Three 9S
Eve
Ten 210's
A bazillion Adams

I mean.... damn. That's an INSANE rate of rainbows/good units off the banner. I think I should get a lottery ticket on the way home today....

I don't think the Anniversary Ring provides XP boost for cactuars.

I dunno if we have more whales, but I think we have members who carefully choose their banners as opposed to chasing everything that looks nice. I'm not f2p but I'm not a whale either (I've paid twice, £40 both times) and I have Fryevia and Aileen. I got lucky with Fryevia but from her datamine I was going to chase. With Aileen I specifically chose to chase her because of her equipment versatility and longevity. Knowing I'm not a whale I wanted a DPS that will last me a long time. I'm going to chase A2 for fan reasons, and if I don't get her I'll be sad, but it's not like the game is suddenly unplayable for me because I have Aileen and solid support. I wanted to be in this position and that's why I carefully pick my banners. Across is another person I believe does this in our thread. Even though he's spent a bit more than I have he doesn't chase the new shiny toy each week. He carefully chooses his battles (at least from what I've seen).

And in regards to money spent I've always believed that if you have money and you enjoy things you shouldn't feel bad spending on them. If you can afford to spend what you spent then it's not an issue. The only issue is when you're spending money you don't have. As you've said, you have a child on the way so you can't be spending that kind of money on a regular basis, but you won't be so it's all good. And GAF is here to keep you in check too haha.

Yeah once the raid orbs go off the front screen there's no way see the countdown timer. It's really stupid and something they need to add to the raid page.

Shit is bugged, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. When it works, it works all the time, you can reset the game and try again with the same time and it will always connect. When it doesn't, don't even waste your time.

There's probably something influencing her frames other than the unit position, probably the weapons.

EXP enhancers do not work with cactuars. They only apply to XP from quests and such.

Something like 2x ignorance, 2x Patriotic Recall, 1x Prodigy Goggles, 1x Ribbon + the usual defensive gear.

I need to finish leveling his LB and I need to farm 2 more Ignorance so he and Rikku have 2 each.

I maxed his LB, have one goggles and one ignorance. Working on 2 mystic skull, 2 ignorance and another goggles. Rikku and him will be all set for their LB moves.

For many units that move towards a target it plays a huge factor from what I've seen people test on Reddit. I did the same with my 2B (holla!!!!!!) and a friend 2B and I'm able to chain much more consistently now.

Also what the hell is up with this new Ariana units skill set, it's like they took skills and just threw them in blender.

Wow really? Seems terrible and stupid like you said. A simple timer on the raid page can't be that hard to put on, can it?

This describes me. I take a judicious approach to banners, targeting 1 or 2 units then re-evaluating if certain events happen. For example, I was originally going all-out on FFX for Rikku and Tidus, but after I got Rikku on my first 10+1 and Orlandu off-banner on a ticket, I said "good enough" and quit.

I think we do probably have more minnows/dolphins and medium spenders than whales but more to the point i think the vocal people in here landing OP units are more likely to be spending than not. So it's probably the same sampling problem r/ffbe has. All I was really saying is that I want to participate in more conversations but without literally any of the bigtime units from Orlandeau forward it's getting increasingly more difficult to do so.

Yeah, moving units are definitely trickier to chain. I tried using macro and magnifying trick, sometimes it worked sometimes it doesn't.
