Final Fantasy III for SNES, Mint, for $600?

Wow, I'm guessing no. Haven't seen many of those there, though. I've seen FF1 sealed go for $200, same with Chrono Trigger and Suikoden 2, but nothing that high.

What's awesome is I bought a sealed SFAM Chrono Trigger for $20. Dumb people having to stick with the US games. :lol

it looks like its been re-shrinkwrapped

Factory wrap doesn't usually have those nasty bulges at both ends of the seal as seen on the top of this box.

What's even more awesome is that they didn't shrinkwrap Super Famicom games in Japan, so you bought a used game.

Also, that is almost definitely factory-sealed. Note the vertical seam that runs down the back. Not worth $600, but very rare.

I don't know about SNES games, but I know that some authentic factory wrap does indeed have those buldges.

Some have that. I just can't remember if cartridge games did or not. It doesn't really look fake to me, though.

I didn't say shrinkwrapped, though. Sealed can also mean unopened (plus it was like 4 years ago, so I couldn't remember if it had plastic around it or not, guess it didn't). :)

Everything was in brand-new shape, and even unwrapped, but still-in-new condition US versions would go for 5 times that price or more.

I seem to remember some games having nubs like that, looking at some of my shrinkwrapped SNES games, I do see nubs, but not as big as that in the picture.

I've seen 2 of these today at my store, one guy wanted to trade them in, and he didn't accept the 1$ I was offering in trade for each one. These were cartridges only, though.

I wonder why?

By the way, Red Scarlet, you did say "sealed." If there's no shrinkwrap, where was the seal? ^_- They *might* be brand new or they could just be in excellent condition. Where did you get them from? That would be a clue.

Yeah most of them do have those buldges, I bought a snes at a local dirtmall and it came with four sealed games and they all look like that (I only opened one of them)

Maybe the distributor in that local area seales them like that or the store did it? It really does look like a cheap kind of way to seal a game. Nothing like the shrinkwraps on gc, xbox,ps2 games and dvd movies. I will take a picture of my box so you guys can compare. I will use flash so the picture wont look that good.

I've got a copy of FFIII with a manual that needs stapling (easy fix on my part) and no map I bought from a rental place. How much would that go for?

over $600 for Final Fantasy III (FF VI) ... are you FUCKING KIDDING ME ?

I would have reservations about paying 1/10th that, $60. when I could probably find it used for $30 or less.

or free. download the rom.

I have the real game, box, manual, as well as the U.S. and Japanese roms.

why pay a mini-fortune on ebay? you are only lining the pockets of some prick if you pay that much. :lol

wouldn't the save battery be dead by now

I doubt it. I have many battery-based games from the 80's (Gold Zelda 1 and 2, FF1 and 2 for the Famicom), and the batteries all still work for them. Out of all of my games, only one has gotten a dead battery.

Well, sealed box lid! It never looked like it was opened, but I sure don't remember if that's what the auction said or not (I just wanted the cart).

It was an e-bay auction from Japan, with no reserve, and I got it for 20 bucks. A lot of Square SFAM/SNES games seem to be that way, super-expensive for the US version, very cheap for the Japan version (and more often in way better condition).

SNES games did, it was the easiest way into the package. :) I specifically recall tearing through FF3's shrink wrap.

Yeah, Square games are dirt common in Japan. I assembled a complete collection mostly in mint condition and didn't pay more than 2000 yen per, often much less. I think the only exception is Final Fantasy IV Easytype -- I paid 2000 yen but the box was a little ripped.

And... the box lid was sealed? Like, with a sticker over it or something? They didn't do that, either.

Nono, I just mean it didn't look like it was opened (aka little bends on the sides from opening, unless I'm just rough with boxes).
