This falls apart because I was clearly asking for thoughts on the system. Not actually asking people to do it, so loop back around and you could understand the gambit. Doing a system like that would never actually work, lol.

And no, this doesn't fall apart. All it takes is for one person to actually think this is an ok system and suddenly we have someone outed as vanilla or PR. Gambits are cute but I'm not playing with the potential backfire, sorry. If no one calls you on this then it just sits there and later on someone can quote back to you and start asking for a claim to clear someone. Nipping that in the bud right away.

Oh, someone finally noticed! There were two main reasons for my voting you when Darryl did:
1. I could predict that a Sorian vs Darryl thing would become the theme of D1, so I wanted to see what would happen if I took sides in it before it became full-blown. Personality-wise (in mafia) you are both quite pugnacious so I knew that's how it would go. That's not a bad thing btw, it's a great way to see how others will react to the arguments, especially if you are both Cosmos Warriors. Darryl didn't really seem to care that I voted with him though.
2. I knew I was the 3rd vote on Sorian, I just wanted to add to the pressure. Sorian is not the sort of person who would crack if he were a PR, so I thought it was a good 'pressure' vote.
However, at this point I felt like the spotlight was on Sorian, and I really want to avoid the situation where we ignore other players because they are inactive. That's why I voted for Pop, who is someone who has posted, but hasn't said too much. I didn't want my vote to go to someone who hasn't been active at all, as I'd rather wait for them to get a chance to post.
My vote for Pop wasn't entirely a joke, I just want to "bring others to the foreground" as Nin said. Sure, my reasoning for voting Pop is terrible, but I can't really do much better on this D1. I'm keeping an eye out because Blarg is usually a very easy target for mafia to vote against with little reasoning (if blarg is mafia this time that would be hilarious!)

I think this could be a useful tactic much much further down the line? Like maybe when we are nearing the end of the game and trying to lynch the last scum maybe. Scrafty mentioned that this was a character-based game however (even if there are some job title roles). I'm pretty sure the Chaos warriors would have fake names in that case, which reduces the viability of this plan.
Aren't you being a little over dramatic here? I don't think anybody was planning on outing themselves. Give a little more credit to the people playing this game!

I've seen scum crack under the slightest pressure (Cthulhu lol), I've seen the cop make the strangest day 1 gambit ever (NX lol), and I've seen people claim their strong PR for 100% no reason at all (MGS lol). I want to give you all credit but I think it's fair that I'm covering my bases, I've seen some shit.

Like Sorian, I'm starting to get a taste for putting my D1 vote out immediately for the sake of pressure and to keep a no lynch from happening. I just like to actually target someone for reasons instead of leaving my vote to RNG like Sorian does. And hey, if you want to cut through Blarg's crap, then be my guest, but I'm not spending 6 hours trying to decipher a 20ft. long wall of text that reads less like a post in a mafia game than it does an excerpt of Time Cube. Still, my vote on Blarg probably isn't gonna stand for much longer, as the Sorian/Darryl situation is starting to make me consider voting off one of them...

You all greatly underestimate Blarg. When he is town, he solves the scum puzzle VERY easily but he always gets written off (which is a little his fault but still). Anyway, that's neither here nor there, it's your vote so do what you like but voting off me or Darryl seems like the lazy easy option. I'm biased, obviously, but this seems like two town fighting which is why I'm barely giving Darryl the time of day. He could be scum but I'm not feeling it yet, Darryl does scummy things for reasons, I still don't get it.
And Blarg did not even say a thing so please.
Give the man some space. He played exceptionally good on Harry Potter and will be aswell in this game. I prefer his posts over 80% of the rest of the players since he at least gives the game the time investment it deserves.

Okay, so I don't like nin1000 at the moment. He feels... I don't know how to explain it... Forced. Like he's projecting himself into the game because he has to rather than because he really has anything to say. This in itself is not necessarily a scum tell, as many ordinary townies tend to act the same way due to a lack of power roles.
But his posts give off weird vibes to me. He isn't necessarily saying anything wrong, and he does have the potential to bring in meaningful discussion, but his words actions and habits so far this game all seem to have some kind of disconnect. The thing that put me over the top to vote, however, was this:
I have never liked posts like this. I will never like posts like this. They're super scummy because they're posts that throw shade a people in an underhanded, non- confrontational, passive aggressive attitude that only serves scum so they don't look like the ones who are calling a townie out when they flip. His 'sarcastic' remark made after Sorian replies to the above also fit that bill, and continued to make me feel uneasy about nin.
So yeah, that's why I voted for him.

The only two things that stand out to me right now is Darryl's suggested name claiming system following up right after Scrafty mentioned the ordinary party members, and Sorian asking me questions near immediately after Nin, which seemed like fishing for information. Neither of these are scumtells on their own however, and I would not vote for them because of that.

Just to clarify since I thought it was odd that you called those questions I asked you "interesting." Those questions served a purpose to get something out of the way quick. A lot of boring day 1s eventually devolve into one of three conversations: should we lynch or no lynch, what are people's stances on neutrals, and how many scum do we think are in the game. I don't think any of those three discussions are particularly useful but it's usually good to know people's stances and ideas on the topic for later reference. You are new to me and I didn't remember if you had talked about any of those things in werewolf so I decided to just ask you all of them directly since I saw you had recently posted and figured you would still be around.

If you are talking about the thing that I posted that says Darryl's scum list, that was a tongue in cheek joke, everyone is on that list except for Darryl himself.
To add to this Sophia, I did notice you side stepped the neutral question but you haven't played a game yet where neutrals have come up so I let it slide since you can't really draw from experience there.

Noted. To be fair, I was actually kind of aware of Blarg's actual skill and commitment to the game, but, once again, I just wanted to have a vote out there asap, and I liked having a vote out there for an actual reason instead of just RNGing it, especially since I know I probably won't keep my vote there.
Honestly, yes in this case, since the two of them just seem to be arguing in circles right now, and I'd rather off one of them to let the other one out of the circle instead of having them waste multiple day phases on their crap or, worst case scenario, scum killing one of them and coercing us to lynch the other out the following day.
On one hand Darryl's role claim at the start was incredibly suspect (and stupid, as it'd make him THE target for scum tonight), his arguments look week as fuck and he seems to resist opposing viewpoints to an irrational level. Sorian's defense against Darryl's claims feel a little sketchy, and it certainly isn't a good look on Sorian that he continues to engage Darryl despite continuing to claim that he's not worth the energy. At this point, though, I have to say that I am probably going to have to go off my gut and my experience. I can tell that Sorian is just playing like Sorian, and the further we get along in the game, the more and more of an asset he'll likely be. Now Darryl, on the other hand, I've never played with before, but going off the playstyle I'm seeing today, I think, even if he's town, that he's going to be at best a minor nuisance and at worst a millstone around town's neck, and because of that, I'd probably vote for him between the two (assuming 1: Someone from the scum team doesn't fuck up and 2: we don't have anyone worth lynching for low activity).
I just can't help hitting that quote button. The effort that goes into the post that I respond with is really the key.
Thanks for the clarification. That does ease my mind off that then. I thought it was a bit unusual, especially coming off Nin's request, so I wasn't sure how much information to give. You were right to ask me about them tho. You are also right in that I don't have much experience to draw from right now in regards to neutrals. ><;
Curiously, Star. What's your opinion on Darryl and Xam right now?
