Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Demo Now Available on Xbox and Switch 2

unpopular opinion:

FF6 is the only good mainline Final Fantasy game.
all the others are varying levels of bad

Looks great on Switch 2. Though it's a demo I did wish it'd pick up the pace, hope it's just this section that feels so scripted.

It's a PS4 game, so except for the hair we should expect all PS4 games to run great.

I really don't understand why this console struggles this much with hair rendering.

True, in many areas I'd say it's the best looking PS4 game though, especially that opening area.

176GB/s vs 102GB/s (less in handheld mode). And even so you are all remembering PS4 games with better hair that they had since we've been playing in PS4 Pro or PS5 upgrades version. But even so, massive advantage for the home console.

True, but it's based on Intergrade which changed many vfx etc and was only available on PS5. The result was a much better looking game than what released on PS4.

It's still an impressive port for a $450, thin tablet.

Played the demo last night on Switch 2 and thought it was good. It is more like a reimaging if anything but I was impressed with how it look and played. Rebirth's visual downgrade isn't something I am looking forward to and while I was temped to jump in January 22 I think at this point its just best to wait until the game is actually completed to give it a proper playthrough.

Tried the demo on Switch 2, because I was curious.

My god I have never seen such an awful blur effect. The very second I got control on the character, I tried rotating the camera to see the framerate and how bad I was expecting it to be.
Well, the results were quite obvious. There is a single light in the distance, when the camera rotates, the light was visible 4 times aligned. Absolutely abysmal. Everything is duplicated as soon as you rotate the camera fast. And 30fps of course, otherwise it wouldn't be that bad.

That's unplayable territory, as far as I am concerned.

Runs well on Xbox Series X. Not planning on buying the game anyway.

Looks fine. The Switch version comes with caveats which is always the case. 30fps is a deal breaker for me. It won't matter to others. Visually it looks fine though.

When has framerate ever mattered to the Nintendo crowd?

I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the Gamecube days but unless it's an absolute disaster-class of a game, it's clear they value other things more over visual fidelity and framerates.

The fact that they're claiming an enhanced 6 year old port as one of the best looking games on the console is testament to that.

MP4 looks amazing at 60FPS 4K. It's still a turd. I would have loved it to be 30FPS 1080p and a much better designed game.

Looks awesome on the Switch 2. I'm worried about how Rebirth will look. I will be supporting the Switch 2 releases of the FFVII Remake series. I've loved Remake and Rebirth.

I'm just ignoring the Blatant Nintendo hate. I think the success of the Switch 2 is really getting to them to the point they'll hate anything on Switch 2 if it's not GOTY 4k/60 with PS5 Pro level visuals
Ermm... I'm a huge Nintendo fan. Metroid Prime is my #1 with Ocarina, but MP4 is dog shit. And I waited 8 years for it and went above and beyond to beg Nintendo to extend my voucher so I can buy it (and upgrade it to Switch 2).

Rebirth will be fine.

If they can leverage their DLSS tech, NSW2 users should be getting 1080p/30FPS with decent image quality.
