Mods are tough
Are you using Windows 8? Some users reported they have to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode. I didn't have to, but it may be worth a shot.Anyone having issues with the launcher? It crashes as soon as I try to play from my Steam library. I can launch ffxiiimg but I can't play it fullscreen without the launcher. Using GeDoSaTo with ffxiiimg still keeps it windowed regardless of the resolution I put in and it won't boot at all if I force borderless window. I try disabling data execution prevention on the launcher but Windows just says I can't run the program without it...
I'm at a complete loss here.
Quick question for adding AF and AA through Nvidia Control Panel... Does the second radio button need to be selected for the game specific overrides to work?

Otherwise, have you tried manually editing the .ini file to set the fullscreen setting to 'true'?

So, this may be a super dumb question, but how do you enable Japanese Audio? Didn't see it in the main menu. And yeah, I keep on hitting escape accidentally too, quits the game, doesn't save my settings.
Why do people take that at face value? It's obviously a gag song. I feel like people are always laughing at how silly it is.. Meanwhile "that's the joke".
Thanks, I'll look into this.I would recommend just using Nvidia Inspector, it's a much more robust program once you get used to it. You also can keep your settings on a game by game basis.

What about the first option? That's what it was on before I set the overrides, but "let the 3D application decide" seems to contradict setting game-specific overrides.I am unsure if application specific overrides will still activate with the third radio button but you can set the general behavior in advanced 3D settings as well. The third button is more of an accessibility thing.
I don't "like" it either.. But you implied its silliness has bearing on the whole soundtrack, when IMO it's a silly, one-off joke track.
That's a matter of taste. The pop music elements give it a completely different kind of appeal.
I absolutely loved it. I'm tempted to call it my favourite OST of the trilogy... But actually XIII's OST is still so good that I can't dethrone it.
LR was very solid, and I liked it too... But it's generally so downtempo that's its my least listened to. I would put XIII-2 well above it.
FFXIII isn't recognizing my DS4 for some reason.

I can't use GeDoSaTo because it removes the message boxes and has a whole bunch of other problems.
Thanks again. The first option means don't force anything and use the game's options. FF13 has no options.
You want the second radio button and then click on manage 3D settings. The Global Settings tab will affect every application that does not have specific Program Settings options.
EDIT - You will want to set a program settings for FF13.
Hopefully this helps. You'll want to enable GPU scaling.Does anyone know how I can get rid of the black bars without using GeDoSaTo on an AMD card? I know Nvidia Inspector has a solution but what about AMD? I can't use GeDoSaTo because it removes the message boxes and has a whole bunch of other problems.
Is there some setting that locks the game at 30fps?
No matter what I do with GeDoSaTo, on or off, the game stays steady at 30 according to fraps. Drops below occasionally in battle but ooc it holds steady.
Do you have a dinput controller plugged in (or is your ds4 being recognized as a "wireless controller")? I had to unplug my arcade stick to get my controller working =\ I hate games that do that.

Otherwise, have you tried manually editing the .xml file?
-Go to Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIII
-Open up the setup.xml file
-Edit the window_mode property so it reads <window_mode>1</window_mode>
Should work.

I was a bit hyperbolic with that statement
I loved the downtempo/ambient nature of LR. It fits in the mood of the game so well. That the world is about to end.
I will say, LR has the best final battle themes of any FF game. Divine Love and Almight Booni is simply top tier.
I'm on Windows 7. There's no setup file. I'm guessing I need to run the launcher before it creates one.
I validated my game cache, redownloaded (yes I downloaded 100GB today), changed DEP setting, but nothing :/
EDIT: nvm
Ok, pass in the argument '-fullscreen' when running ffxiiimg.exe
That got it into fullscreen with bypassing the launcher.

I love High Voltage.

Old FFs had equally ridiculous Techno de Chocobo and Waltz de Chocobo songs.
Dubstep de Chocobo in FFXV please.
(Oh and for the record I adore the XIII-2 soundtrack. Pop vocals and electronic elements are sublime in an FF game)
High Voltage is awesome.

daytime luxerion is also solid gold. Sooo soothing.
The XIII trilogy may have not been the best, but in terms of music, it's the creme of the crop.
You're alive! This morning it sounded like you might be having a Lightning-induced heart attack.
But still. Every single time I boot it up...the feelings, man.
Well GAF, here it is.
I've been a vocal hater of this game for years. But here I am. I promised I would give it a new, fresh, and fair chance.
