stuck on quest with Marauder called feint and strike. Its a quest where I protect the town from bunch of pirates/enemies and after that, masked magician summons a monster. I can get past the first part, but the summon monster is too strong. Is there a tip or trick for this?

Oh another question. How do you quick tab using the d-pad through *just* enemies? Or rather, how do you toggle which kind of targets you want to tab between on controller?

Yeah, I know, I don't know what it was, but it worked a few minutes later.

My first impressions are pretty bad, it runs like complete crap on PS3, the UI is really inefficient and it's very boring game design wise, the art is pretty awful too. I'll play more later, but yeah, I don't think it looks like something I'll be buying.

Ive played the beta for 2 weekends exclusively on PS3 and was amazed at how well it runs and how good it looks. Not sure what you are talking about...

Make sure you don't attack the Masked Mage, in fact run the summoned monster out of the Masked Mage's range. Also use an antidote if you get venom used on you.

Oh, and bring a Hi-Potion, should be able to find them on Tool vendors surrounding Aethrytes at camps.

Change targeting filtering on Gamepad/PS3 controller by pressing L1+ X, Circle, Triangle or Square.

It should work. But I would edit out 'risky' parts of your post since it's not allowed in the PSN/SEN eula.

Anyway, some Turkish website is giving out 600 beta keys for the PC. I should probably mention that this is also for the EU only.
Go grab yours here. At the moment of posting there are 223 beta keys left.

Register, then click on the "Anahtar Al" button and check your private messages (top right) for your key.

Thanks got a key. Now where do I enter it? :)

I dunno where you are exactl in the quest but it takes you to the other two cities and then you go back to Limsa and talk to the guy next to the ferry in the Lower Decks.

The grindania enjoy quest is marked as complete in my journal and i have no icon from a main quest in the lower deck of limsa.

i have trully no idea where to go.

i already went in the 2 other cities and talked to the main guys ..i don't know what i should do

The guard that let you in to talk to the last leader should've give you a new quest.

oh !

I see .thanks Will look ( currently going to work , will try in a couple of hours when i'll be back )

Thanks for the info.

You have remarkably low standards.

Playing on PS3.

It's not the best game ever but it's not that bad.

The interface works properly with the gamepad and you have plenty of options to change it how you want. I'd ssay they have done a good job with it.

Those things are at least subjective, which is one thing, I think they've done them horribly, but performance is objective, so when the performance analysis stuff comes out from places like DF, it'll be undeniable that the game runs like ass, at least in my starting city anyway.

Here's a few more high quality screenshots in my personal chocobo and goobbue mount. Also a few other pics for good measures:

Riding on my Goobbue mount (it's such a silly ride lol):

Holy has a really cool, but weird animation:

More exploring on my chocobo:

Stopping to take in the lovely lighting:

I like how I float when I'm casting certain spells (Holy in this case):

(Game is on max settings)

how come mine(on the left) is mix of different color while the person on the right has same color for all of the armors? Can you dye your armors in beta?

Yeah, there's a quest to get a few dye colors.

NPC's in Vesper Bay (Western Thanalan), just bring some Orange Juice with you, that's all shes gonna ask you for.

Having a pretty great time with the PC version - they've definitely made some massive improvements since the last time I've played. Still doesn't run very well, which makes me feel like waiting out until the PS4 version.

Have they mentioned whether or not the PC and PlayStation versions will run on the same servers?

Yes,PC and Playstation people can play together...

I always have a lot of fun playing but then I remind myself it's all going away at the end of the beta, don't want to put too much time into it so I've mostly been wandering around instead of questing or leveling.

Well i understand the feelign i had several slowdowns ans frame drops in limsa that were never this bad in gridania for example

Do we have any indication at all about when the PS4 version is coming?

Or any information at all really, other than it's coming?

Sigh... Does anyone else have a hard time playing MMO betas? What happens is I get excited about the beta starting, and then I log in and do a few things. But then at the back of my mind, something just keeps saying "nothing will count, all this progress will be lost"... and since progress is really the main thing that makes MMOs fun for me, it all just feels like a waste of time to play. *shrug*

I guess I just put myself in a really bad position now. I have lvl15 conjurer and it turns out that the next advancement of a conjurer is a white mage. To be a white mage you have to be a lvl15 gladiator. The problem with this is that I have a lvl16 gladiator as another character already, and to make him a paladin I have to make him a lvl15 conjurer. Geez that was a big screw up on my part lol.

I guess I'll try my hand at puglist again since they seem to be a little different then the gladiator and lancer. Might be an elf too since the higher leveled elves look way cooler then other races at higher levels.

Not using 1 anecdote potion makes the quest impossible. I found that out on my pugulist after a few failed attempts that included kiting to regain hp.

Even if everything is going to be reset, I enjoy it because I can get a feel for how the game will most like play at launch. Seeing how quests work, dungeons, and other aspects of the game can be a good deciding factor in an MMO since you will probably be repeating a few things several times anyway.

I've also found that playing a class you don't plan on playing at launch or barely touching on it helps. I'm going 100% whm at launch but am playing a gla/mrd right now. It's a lot of fun and might roll another character just for the classes, but gives me the opportunity to mess around and get a feel for gameplay mechanics without diving too far into my main class/job at launch.

Plus, you can effectively throw all of your money into one or two crafts and not worry about the consequences.

These were the requirements during V1.x. There's a very high chance they will change for ARR, especially now that WHM draws actions from THM and ACN (instead of GLA).

Although I can't guarantee it works 100% of the time, when I did this on my Marauder I ducked behind one of the buildings, the mage stayed out of range (more precisely couldn't use magic due in ability to see me) and I just fought the demon, right before the demon dies the quest NPC showed and I never needed to use antidote. I did this right from the start before even engaging with the mob so I wonder if its because the mage was stationary till hate was generated I forced the mob out of linking range or something once I actually engaged with the mob.

Wow. Wow, combat is leaps and bounds above 1.0

As an archer i feel like my zoning is 100% improved, i can keep my distance and attack with relative ease. And controller implementation is really excellent, holding R2 and pressing attacks is epic.

Cant wait until phase 4.0 so i can get back to my real character.

Besides to play on a different server or something, why would you do that when you can level all classes on one character (before you're at the point where you have nothing else to level on your main and you want to a level an alt just for the heck of it or to level with someone, I guess, I mean)?

Playing as a lv 16 Marauder now and I'm stuck at the "Victory in Peril" quest. Guess I'll have to level a bit more but I can't find any other quests, only guildleves.

Also, how can I get another Job? I'd like to play as an archer but I guess I'll have to go aaaall the way to the archer's guild, in another city-state? :/

Loving the Beta!

Yep. I played the first two weekends quite a bit. Leveled up two chars to 15/20. Gonna play something else until phase 4 starts I guess. That's already a lot of playtime to have to redo.

A mix of aesthetics and if I have friends on a different server mostly.

Does anyone know how to beat the level 10 Gladiator quest? The stupid guy keeps dying and I can't figure out what to do. I use Flash but he still goes right after him.
