Any word when they will start selling the PC version again? Digital or boxed.
I haven't encountered a bad group yet, thankfully. The furthest I've been so far is Halatali but everyone did fine in that. I am playing a conjurerer and none of us died. They also refused to role on an awesome staff skin could get it. I guess I've been lucky.

Kinda burnt myself out atm and I really slowed down these past few days. Reached level 46 and all that is left to level is FATE parties, which after 1 hour of dealing with the zerg is enough to put me to sleep... I have no idea why SE could not have added more questing content for the 45+ areas. I never thought I would say this but christ do I miss mindless quests, as they are far superior than this mind numbing fate system that is currently in game. I don't see myself leveling another class anytime soon when i reach 50 if fate spams are still the best method to level.

The RNG is harsh. I just lost the roll four times on a complete Battlemage set in Brayflox

So glad I'm leveling classes simultaneously, by the time I'm around that level with my classes, they'll probably have added more content lol
Wait till you get to the higher level dungeons. The dickhead elitists start coming out in droves. It's particularly worse for me cos I'm on a non-GAF server, and the FC in I'm has almost no 40+ level players, so I'm always forced to use DF. 40+ DF is friggin Russian Roulette in terms of the players you get grouped with.
Yeah I don't understand SE's mentality regarding the lack of quests after 45+

happened to me last night. The whole Uldah was empty and I couldn't see the map then when I warped the game froze at loading screen.

It will be interesting to see how people fate level on low pop servers. I also got very bored of fate leveling.
Felt like that today too but I just went ham and grinded out 2 levels to put myself ahead of the quests. Just get yourself up to Northern Thanalan and put on some music or a movie.
Certain dungeons definitely favor one class in terms of gear.

So I wait 40 minutes to get into Brayfox only to have a tank who immediately dies in the first 4 battles then quits, 5 minutes later the rest of the party follow suit. I'm ruing my decision to roll DPS.
Happened to me as well. Not often, but a good once or twice this week.
I've never gotten anything from dungeons in 50 levels, forget it!

So guys, after doing a lot of thinking I decided to give in and play this (my backlog be danmed!)
That said, it's going to be my first real MMO so how should I start playing this without beeing called an idiot, noob or dickhead? How should I behave? I want to take my time learning the whole system, but I don't want to be in anybody's way.
Also, I like to play RPGs with ranged weapons and attacks. Magic, Bow and/or Lance. Which class should I go for?

Yeah, you won't actually start to do dungeon raids until level 15. Before then, they ease you into the game's mechanics and such just by following the story line.

Is there any way to minimise the game with the duty finder running and get an alert when a party's found ala DOTA2 matchmaking?

Archer might be a good class for you.
There's solo mission right up until level 15, so you won't feel pressure to act a certain way.
Also, if you choose Archer or a mage class, you'll have less responsibility in dungeons, because you'll be DPS, simply following the tank's lead (unless you're Conjurer, expected to heal)
My advice is just to go at your own pace, when you reach level 10, you can switch between classes and try your hand at gathering and crafting. Give them all a go

When can you get the archer class? I don't see a trainer in Ul'dah. Should have never picked gladiator, at least the armors look cool.

at level 10 you can change classes
at level 15 you can go to other starting areas and archer is in gridania
Trying to do the harder than rock quest (low lev pugilist) and can't interact with the rocks. Don't appear to have the requisite material to interact with the rocks. But have finished they preceding quest, so don't see how that happened. The quest is sending me to the rocks and not asking me to gather anything else. Any ideas/ help would really be appreciated.

My retainer is called Bestbuy because you gotta snap those brand names up quickly. My chocobo is called Boco of course. The one true chocobo name.
If you read the text log/look at the side thing it should say you need to use your bootshine combo on them.
