Me and a full dark light paladin waiting for a healer at Amdakor Keep.

Paladins don't use an axe.

it seems that if I want to move servers I have to start a new character.

I want to move servers but use my 1.0 character (lvl.50 Drg), can I?

Man Odins gear should be better than it is.
Zantetsuken is only 5 more damage than my Goblin Longsword. The Cutlass I get from the GC is at least +8 with better bonuses. and its supposedly much easer to get
Ifrits is +6 or 7 I think

when you defeat a FATE like Odin does everyone get a mantle or horn?

Here's how my copperbell experience went:

Change job to CNJ.
Go to duty finder.
Activate duty finder.
Literally, LITERALLY, wait one second.
Get into party.

Went well. Was super easy and I was dumb to worry. Even got some loot from the dungeon.

WHOOOOOOOP! GOT A RETAINER!

i keep getting random disconnects with error 90000. anyone else?? it will sometimes let me play for ages then suddenly everything locks up and i get booted :(((( really love this game so gutted. I'm on pc

I just did Stone Vigil.

It fucking sucked.
Kept dying, people kept leaving and going. Getting yelled at for my tanking even though Im using all those abilities as much as i can. Ugh. I never want to do that one again.

The hilarious thing is was that the dragon was about 1/4th health left when the mnk got in front of the dragon and died...then the archer got killed so it was the healer and I that were left... with 7 mins left on the time.

I solo'd the dragon while the healer kept me going. It was frustrating cause anything could mess up and stepping or not moving outta the way in time would cost a lot of HP.

Overall, glad thats over..

So I did Ifrit HM with duty finder, most of the time it was fine, even with no blm/smn we can usually manage to beat just fine.

But this one time, I partied with this guy who refused to even fight because we have no blm/smn and told us the repair cost is high. He promptly removes his gear and pulled Ifrit to kill us over and over again, hoping that someone will leave before him. He must have felt smart he claims that he have masters degree, like it would matter at all.

I just found out that this guy is on GAF FC, named Puppy Pumper. I hope someone dealt with him, most people there already reported him.

First time I have ever seen this pet!

It's the rewards from a relatively low level quest in south shroud iirc. I got him too :)

Went in for the first time yesterday and it was a pain..
The tank NEVER turned mobs and when I positioned myself behind he kept moving it around for whatever reason..dps kept breaking my sleep and they screwed up pulls by (for whatever reason) attacking the additional group instead of the roamer the tank was about to pull..so naturally we got all the drakes and roamers and wiped.

First boss we managed to get down (is there really no other way than to stay close to him and try to manage to get on his back when he runs to the wall?) It was the only tactic I could come up with that actually made us beat this encounter. DPS got hit with his Flame breath all the time, too. Those are the moments where I question my decision to go with playing healers in MMOs..
We were just before the second boss when the tank had to leave and we called it a night..

In regards to Fate Grinding. To be honest, no one forces you to sprint to end-game and it's your own decision to do so. Yes, it's a problem with exp/gil ratio and the amount of seals you get but I find it hilarious that people are complaining about it, yes even raging but still do it :p Is it really so freaking important to be max level before anyone else? I am mixing dungeons, quests, levels, story-line and fates equally and don't grind on one or the other. Could I level faster? Sure, but I also don't play insane amount of hours per day. I am lvl 41 now and have still tons of quests in Dragonhead. I also did not do any of the lowbie quests in the other areas so that should let me tons for my other classes to level.

This is ridiculous. Someone like that should not be allowed to stay, no second chances. That's straight up griefing.

Holy shit. Sorry to hear about that man. Hope it gets taken care of swiftly.

Dude you've got a job and you're only just doing Copperbell? You're level 30+ and don't even have a Chocobo? Get it together dude!

What's your characters name?
Dude did something similar in a party with me, Rock and Arturi.

I love dungeons where you get through by the skin of your teeth, and are dead - and your last dude manages to get it done. sogood.gif

That's what happened in my Darkhold (is that the right name for the level 44 Dungeon?) party. The last man/woman standing managed to finish off the boss. Made for a really funny moment.

Okay, typed something up to recap the day, lost it when the site went down, so I'll keep it simple.

Re-did Brayflox, and beat Titan and temple of Qarn. I felt like I did much better today overall, though of course there's always room for improvement. Incidentally, is there a use for any of those junk items that dropped in Qarn?

Also also, am I the only one that wishes they'd use the rumble in controllers, whenever there was a thunderclap, during weather events?

Can someone explain to me what's the use of the white items dropping off coffers in Cutter's Cry, Stone Vigil, Darkhold? And those tokens that the last boss of Darkhold gave?

Most of those whites sell quite well because they are crafting components.

Oh, another note on those playing tanking classes - make sure to always wear the highest level armor you possibly can, because the defense upgrades on plate armor are huge, as opposed to other armor that just gets 1-2 points of defense more per level.

If you haven't got armor from quests or haven't leveled armorsmith, you can most likely find it on a vendor somewhere around the world.

On that note, I have an embarassing story to share. You may not know but plate armor has those pieces of armor that take up two slots instead of one, for example these plate boots you get around 25 occupy your boots and pants slot, and you cannot wear anything in your pants slot. The combined defense makes up for the fact, but it still is only one piece of armor as opposed to two.

Anyway, I was doing Haukke Manor and the first boss dropped some new boots for me. Stats screen showed it as an upgrade an indeed, I was wearing those plate boots I mentioned earlier. Too bad I didn't realize these boots were "regular" boots instead of 2-slotters, so I instead proceeded to tank the rest of the dungeon without pants. Needless to say, my defense was quite lacking and I was on the brink of death on every pull, and even managed to go down on the last boss :p

The lesson of the story is that make sure to always wear the best possible armor you can, because every point of defense counts. And, also make sure to wear pants when tanking.
