I just had my first bad experience with the community aside from the usual woes that MMOs that they have (ie gold farmers, spammers, hackers etc). I was trying to do Sunken Temple for the first time in full and I had tried doing the dungeon with others but we failed lotsa times with the first boss, we beat him but ran out of time for he rest of the dungeon.
Anyways, the rest of my party was partied together and I was alone. Clearly, they didn't like women cause they immediately pointed out that I was a female tank; they also assumed I was a girl and I didn't know how to play. (I'm not a girl and I don't know why they assume girls are bad gamers; a stigma that has to die)
So as we played they kept giving me pointers which is great but cause they assumed I was a dumb player, the tone they used wasn't very friendly. I just ignored them, although taking their advice, and tried to get the dungeon over with. I don't think they knew how to play their classes either since they kept pulling enmity from me expecting that I can hold it all if they unloaded their full dps on everything. They were disorganized and kept pulling the killer bees which would instant kill if it coasted final sting on you. They would then say kill the bees, but then turn around and say don't tank the bees.
After a few bosses, and finally fighting the golem boss, I couldn't hold aggro from that boss for some reason no matter what I did. Is the latter part of the fight supposed to be like that or did the rest of my party do way more dmg over me? After the fight, they just up and left although we killed it without anybody dying or much dmg to the party.
Overall, they were rude, sexist, and impatient. (They want to skip over mobs entirely and rush the dungeon) I imagine it's only going to get worse as I level up. I hear horror stories about the late game where all the assholes have kinda coagulated. I mean so far this is the first bad experience I've had so that's not too bad compared to other people.
