I think I’m finally getting the hang of Eureka. Now I’m lv 16 and cruisin. Even having fun I’d say.

edit: Eureka Animos is done and I have the first relic weapon. Tomorrow is onwards toward Pagos!

Can you solo Eureka? I need to play that next time I am going back to FF14 for the TT cards.
You can’t play completely solo but I run around grinding mobs by myself and then hop into impromptu parties for killing and farming notorious monsters. Then when they die I drop from the party and go back to doing my own thing. Plus you’ll want to play in an instance with other players so that they can res you in order to avoid losing exp.

Ugh the map design of Eureka Pagos. Go to this cliff, walk slowly and drop off at a certain point to fall onto a hidden ledge, then walk slowly past a dragon so it doesn’t wake up and one shot you, and then go into this cave filled with dangerous monsters. And if you die alone the way then shout for someone to come resurrect you so that you don’t lose a ton of experience and go down a level.

Yep that's why I advise Warrior. You can't fight the dragon but you can reliably fight most mob groups with Raw Intuition.

The game design behind how scenario is developed was really insightful. The voice actor segment, as well. Definitely check out the discord TL archive if you're interested.

Good to hear we may actually get better voice variation and they are working on better character customization to go along with the overhaul.
No major job adjustments (reworks) until 6.3.
Banri Oda, Daichi Hiroi and Ishikawa are moving more into supervisor/planning roles in the writing team.

Eureka is finally done! Now I have every Dragoon relic weapon in the game! (until next week when I start the EW relic grind)

Daboya Eureka

Now that I've held the Eureka weapons in hand I like them a lot more than I did at first, especially the Pyros Lance and Daboya Eureka. Hopefully I can do BA this weekend to try to get the Ozma mount.

I never thought I would do it but... I got the Demi Ozma mount!

v93AbnS.jpg

UFnldhX.jpg

I joined a discord group and was able to get it on my first try. It was a bit nerve wracking because I was supposed to be in one of the main groups but then I didn't know that you have to talk to the support specialist first so I didn't get the buff from Ovni to enter BA, so I join the support group instead and start running over to him but then I disconnect. I get back in the game as fast as I can and talk to him to unlock BA, then as we're waiting for the support fate a bunch of portal snipers come over and then some of our portals got sniped but fortunately I was able to get in. Then once inside I died a few times but fortunately I had spirit of the remembered to auto-res me. At the tail-end of the Ozma fight I died and spirit of the remembered didn't res me and Ozma starts casting Black Hole and his health is super low and fortunately he dies right before he can get it off and I survived my first trip into BA! Now I'm going to ride this mount all over Eorzea. I can't wait for the weekly reset when I join a hunt train to farm tomes and then I'll be able to ride my new mount. :)

I got my EW relic weapon today (dragoon). Anyone else?
I was expecting to get shiny version of the first weapon today and a bit more of a grind but I guess we'll have to wait for next time.

They dumbed down the first step of the relics in ShB, reducing them to a mere tomestone dump (first ShB step was just 1000 poetics and done). We'll get the next step in 6.35, and it remains to be seen what kind of grind we'll be looking at. If the new Deep Dungeon comes out in 6.3 then I would expect that to be utilized for relics.

Anyway, I like the idea of Variant Dungeons a lot, especially figuring out the requirements for the notes. Kinda reminds me of 1.0 dungeons in a way. Hope the next one doesn't take too long to release.

Got my Silkie mount a couple of days ago but after grinding the past 2 days I finished Sasukes Blades Zeta earlier this morning, still the best looking NIN weapon.

Got to the end of Shadowbringers... almost a month ago. I don't dare to continue with the end in sight. Shadowbringers was really good.

Started Rogue/Ninja about a week ago and got to lvl 72. Might be my favorite out of 7 I've played. Dancer is very fun to play too.

Just resubbed for a month since we're towards the end of the year and not much else to play. I didn't expect to care about the mount from the seasonal event but as soon as I saw him in game I was glad to get him. Blitzen is the best. Tonight I'm planning to get started on the Four Lords questline since I somehow missed that, and then I guess I'll take one more look to see if there are any other interesting bosses that I never fought.

I've now got all ilvl 620 gear except for one of my rings (610) but I can't wear the same ring twice so no big deal. I'm hoping that 6.3 drops during the beginning of January so I can play it before my current 1 month sub runs out. I may also try to give P7S another try but I got kinda burned out on waiting so long for people to join and then quit after 1 pull in the past so I may just try something new instead, like maybe potd or hoh.

6.3 Famitsu Interview Summary from the FFXIV Discord iluna minori

Myths of the Realm: The God Realm of Happiness Euphrosynē

- The previous 24-man raid Aglaia was well received, far better than what YoshiP expected.
- The 12 Eorzean deities are an existence that "the Eorzeans love and revere so much they can't help themselves", so the devs are maintaining that tension for this tier as well
- This will also mean they're retaining the "festival" feel of the tier, just like before.
- There are deities who are "beautiful and cute", and there will also be deities who are "cool/awesome but relentless in attacks". Since each opponents you face are clear in the concept they're trying to portray, players will be able to enjoy a rich amount of variety in battle.
- Yes, Nophica will appear according to that illustration in particular, but the devs are not going to promise something that exceeds players' expectations on that matter, and if you're charmed by her, you'll be in trouble, so be careful.

On Ultimate, Patch 6.3

- The theme for this Ultimate isn't that much of a twist, so if most players were to predict "it has to be this", then yeah it should be fine to think that way.
- Rewards will be titles, weapons, and Adventure Plate.
- Regarding the weapon, YoshiP has already instructed the devs that, "since we have the next Ultimate, you need to consider on the visual effects, design, and the glow that shows the difference between the two (content)" during the DSR stage.
- It will be once again a reward/graphics where players can be proud of.
- YoshiP himself is pretty fond of the design, so those who got the weapon from the upcoming Ultimate may evoke some form of jealousy.
- Currently, they consider DSR to be the hardest among all, and they're not thinking of overtaking that in difficulty.
- They can't tell you how long this battle will last, but they are not going to make it extremely short
- The person who is handling Ultimate this time, is the designer who planned the bosses for "Criteron Dungeon Savage", he's also involved in the production:
- Assigned to work on the final boss.
- Designers that worked on past Savage 4th floor boss, as well as experienced in creating Ultimate content will be the one that design the first 2 bosses in this Ultimate.

- Meaning, this Ultimate has multiple designers, instead of one this time.
- The story elements for this Ultimate is more toned down, it's not as prominent. They are making sure that the story elements and the direction/animation will not be overdone for this Ultimate and beyond.
- They want to aim for releasing only 2 Ultimates for the next expansion and beyond, and they are thinking that but if they invest too much direction cost, the possibility that it won't happen in the future is high.

Regarding the third Deep Dungeon: Eureka Orthos

- There aren't much story quests for this but the boss design and the map image may allow the players to feel that there's story elements in them.
- The episode for this content is quite interesting so it'd be nice if players can challenge up the the deepest level of this dungeon.
- Since they received comments that the difficulty of challenging Heaven on High solo is just right, they want to make sure that players will be able to have fun challenging this content solo in the end as well.
- Plenty of new mechanics and elements that players can utilize. The basic rules doesn't change, and they won't change how this content can be played casually.
- For players who challenged DD up to this point, they can rest assure that this is just a straight "sequel" to the previous content.
- IF players are just looking to clear the scenario, they will finish this in about 30 floors. It's okay to just think that this basically works like Heaven on High.
- Basically the line of thought for rewards on this content remains the same, and plenty variation of items are prepared for cases where one obtain them from clearing the scenario, and those who explore the floors deeper.

PLD Adjustments

- The overall job is basically overhauled. That's the main objective for the adjustment this time and they are not adjusting this with the goal of "working on its rotation"
- Buffs that are hard to use compared to other tanks has been adjusted as well
- They believed that a large amount of small tricks in this job has been sorted out, and it's definitely made easier to use.
- The details on the concept behind the changes when overhauling the job, including the combo and whatnot will be relayed during the upcoming PLL.

Regarding Manderville Weapons

- You need to finish Patch 6.35 Manderville quest first before working on the next stage of the Manderville weapon.
- The concept for the weapon strengthening this time would be to "be able to exchange for something by piling up the rewards gotten from various content naturally", so players don't need to worry too much.
- Since the main playstyle for FFXIV right now is players playing multiple jobs here, they're plan to balance it so that players can complete the next step of multiple Manderville Weapons instead of just one.
- The visual effects and timing of weapon enhancements will follow the flow of past weapon strengthening contents.
- The Hiildebrand Returns series quest will span throughout the 6.x series overall. 6.3 is not the end of the quest, it'll get "worse"
- The weapon will be badass looking, which is of course different from the silly and comedic nature of the story, so please rest assured.
- The strengthened weapons in the future will have visual effects attached.

Regarding 6.3 Trial

- Happens during Main Story.
- On EX version, it has a brain training elements that are slightly different than Barbariccia, there are also personal mechanics, and other types of mechanics mixed into it as well. It a pretty classic one.

Regarding New Crystal Conflict Stages

- Since the development name is "House Full of Tricks", it's going to have a lot of gimmicks, more so than the Volcanic Heart stage. But in return, the ratio of the gimmick triggered in stage will not be frequent, so this is made easier for players.
- For example, a portion of the stage will suddenly get lifted up, or sometimes you even see rich guys throwing coins all around.

Others

- The addition of spear fishing and water diving in old areas this time are developed and added by the devs themselves, not instructions by YoshiP.
- YoshiP has mentioned that you are more than welcomed to dive into the seas in Upper La Noscea and take screenshots without doing spearfishing (if you don't want to), and post them on your SNS account, when you do so, the staff members will definitely get motivated and work on the rest of the areas.
- While this cannot be told in details, but YoshiP has been hard at work, working with other companies so that players can go "wow, they're going all their way to do THAT?", for both in game and external activities.
- Details will be made public once next year comes (which is soon™️) so please look forward to it.

Ugh
Spend an hour or more waiting on a P7S party to form (harvest prog party), then get in there and people are dying left and right to the first few mechanics. Then half the party quits, then back to square one.
I think I'm burned out on PF raiding. I don't know if I'll ever clear P7S.

We're exactly 4 months into the current tier (6.2 released on August 23rd) so I doubt most hardcore raiders are even subbed at the moment, because at this point they're likely already set with gear for their next challenge. Hell, even casual players haven't had much of a reason to stay subbed beyond the first month of 6.2.

If you keep at it, you'll probably eventually get lucky and find a group of 7 competent players, but prepare for lots of headaches until then...

You should find a Static. There are still plenty around.

You would be surprised. I completed the savage raids pretty quickly and am still subbed. I don't play nearly as often, no real point to as I love the game but treat it as just one of many I am currently playing. It's what makes FFXIV so great IMO. The fact that I can put it down for a few months and not feel obligated to grind.

I mean, you kinda proved my point: the hardcore raiders who cleared early aren't PF'ing this late in the tier. Yes, there are raiders who are always willing to help but I doubt there are many subbed at this very moment. Again, it's exactly 4 months since the tier dropped... that's 4 subscriptions if you resubbed on patch day, and if they are frugal then it is smart to hold off on subbing again until 6.3 drops in 3 weeks. Not everyone has the luxury to just leave their sub going while they play other games - that's money that could be spent to BUY other games, ya know! :messenger_grinning_squinting:

How PLD players feeling about those changes?

Also I need

As for PLD changes, the current combat designers REALLY hate DoTs, huh?

Not quite. I don't know of *any* "hardcore raiders" that ever use Party Finder. They find statics, which are completely different from using party finder.

Yeah, Did you see the others or should I post them here anyway?
Also, they also promised a long-requested character minion that they didn't show yet. Since everyone's favourite Emet is out... (I'll be disappointed if it's Hades).

Yeah, a shame. I know people are split on DoT's but it was nice to manage if a job came with it. Positionals are also near extinction if I'm remembering right.

oh man, I FINALLY cleared P7S through PF.
Today I decided I just wasn't going to give up and then I watched the guide more times and then just kept joining/creating parties. Then someone mentioned using JP braindead death harvest and Inu war harvest and then I started using that going forward. Then finally I got a good group of people and we hit 0.1% enrage, then kept trying until we had less deaths and finally got the clear!

Now the only thing left is P8S! If I can clear that then it will be my first time clearing an entire raid tier (and will also unlock the upcoming Omega Protocol Ultimate).

Today I cleared floors 1-100 of Palace of the Dead and then floors 1-30 of Heaven on High. I was originally going to only do the first 50 floors of POTD just to unlock Eureka Orthos when it launched but then went a little further to get the glowing weapon and then by that point was so close to floor 100 that I may as well have finished it. Then I did HoH just for completeness and to give it a try. I hadn't done the Deep Dungeons before but I find them fun and I'm looking forward to seeing what Eureka Orthos is like.

In the meanwhile I guess it's time to start watching a guide for P8S.

After playing for a month and a half I think I'm almost to the end of ARR. (Just got the scions back together and formed a plan of attack) I have no idea about some of the stuff you guys are talking about in this thread, but I'll get there eventually.

Either they plan to introduce a DoT class or they want to ruin PLD and make it conform to the boring 2 minute meta.

They've only mentioned very vague things. No real concise information. Other then we added a thing we aren't elaborating on and we also took your DoTs away.

Doesn't surprise me with Meleewalker being a crap expansion for combat to the point of boredom. I am thankful Blue Mage exists.

I feel so bad for Healers and Ranged this xpac.

The Heavensturn outfits look awesome. I normally only wear my dragoon class armors but I'm wearing mine along with the moonfire faire bandana and it's a great combo.

Are all event items this easy to get? Blitzen and this took no time l I'm used to mmos where you have to grind so much time getting event tokens to get the rewards. Feels so much better here.

I'm 3 days 11 hours in and somewhere between the end of A Realm Awakens and Heavensward. So many dungeons unlocking, feels like that's all I've been doing the last couple days.

The seasonal events are super easy and fast to do. No dungeons or anything and you’re done in like 30 minutes or less if you don’t skip the story.

One amazing thing about this game is that there's just so much to do. Every time I start feeling like I've almost done it all, there's another thing I've never even touched like PvP for example. I've also only ever played Dragoon so there are also many other classes or crafters/gatherers if I wanted to switch it up. And then there's the new game plus mode that I should definitely do sometime to experience the story all over again now that the original story arc is now complete and also so experience the changes they've made over time like removing/shortening those 100 quests between ARR and HW.

Finally got my empyrean partisian from heaven on high. The highest I ended up getting with a group was floor 89, with my last group. Now I'm just looking forward to patch 6.3 next week!

Edit: Also, I was looking through old emails and saw that I bought ARR on Oct 2, 2016 so looks like I'm now in my 7th year of playing!

It's still long of you choose to see and do everything. Let me tell you.

I'm in the middle of AAR and HW and all I keep thinking is wtf are these Hildebrand quests?

This is the goofiest shit ever.

When do you think we can expect 7.0? Winter 2024 would be my guess
Major patches have been in 4 month cycles. 6.4 will likely be in May/June, then 6.5 in October/November. I am guessing April 2024. Summer 2024 at the latest.

Full 6.3 patch notes

PLD seems a lot more like Gunbreaker now...
Like someone said on the forums they taped the worst parts of Gunbreaker and Warrior together and called it Paladin 6.3 and assimilated it into their Fell Cleave Warrior 2 minute meta design philosophy. Expected but disappointing.

The good aspects about it is that PLD did receive QoL in being more defensive.

But I feel this is 1 step forward 4 steps backward in the long term and it royally fucks the leveling process in any content that isn't at level cap.

The story in the new patch is excellent (MSQ as well as the alliance raid). I’m glad I took the day off work as it’s been a lot of fun. It’s amazing how they continue to deliver after all these years.

Animation team just flexing at what's to come for 7.0 in the cutscenes, lol. I see the eyes are now more lifelike, as well.
A bit hard to care about Zero personally, but the stuff surrounding Golbez and his motive has at least been interesting.

Euphrosyne is fun. Thank goodness I did not have all party members effect at full like last time...

Alliance raid was super fun. Whole lot of death! Even managed to wipe a few times - I feel like I haven't experienced multiple wipes in an Alliance raid since Ivalice.

I made to floor 90 on heaven on high but then the boss did a sudden attack that wiped the entire party in one shot. I'm still not sure what happened lol. I legit thought we were going to clear but I guess not. Getting that "true hero" title is going to be some work I see.
