Final Fantasy XV - 50 min video

Honestly I think people expecting any kind of meaningful or significant visual upgrade because of the delay are just setting themselves and others up for disappointment. It's not going to happen. Expect optimization in terms of performance, frame rate, glitch and bug fixes. And leave your expectations there.

Seriously this. The game is already a mess in terms of optimization. When they used a partner attack with the guy with the big sword the game literally turned into a slideshow. No way its getting visual upgrade with performance drops like that.

YES SIR!
Let's eridciate hope once and for all!

Dude, let them wish whatever they want man, who cares.
Even if it's an insignificant visual upgrade I'm sure they and I would be happy.

I absolutely love everything I have seen so far despite technical quality. If SE could manage to boost up the visiuals a bit, I would be reeeeally happy :)

Lol, apart from fixing the texture pop-ins, which they promised to fix/reduce, there won't be any graphical improvements. That would go against optimzation actually. If they tuned up the graphics a notch the game would run again more poorly. They might even dial back the visuals a little more to make the game run better. ;P

to try and bring this back to the 50 minute video. Watched an analysis vid and some pretty interesting stuff that we've pretty much all missed.
Link here if you want to watch it, has some misinformation in some parts

Its mostly small stuff but basically the bits we missed are:

- Chest icon on the mini-map. Seems like chests are in.
- The Cocytus is an elemental weapon. Always love those :3
- The Engine Blade was a birthday gift (lol)
- Engine Blade makes the same (or at least similar) revving noise heard in the original versus reveal trailer.
- Clinging onto a warp point uses stamina (same as running) so you can't just stay there and be safe out of harms way forever anymore.
- The game will let you know when treasure or mining (elemental stuff) is nearby.
- There's an advert for Cup Noodle on a billboard (lol)
- another Royal Arm(?) called "swords of the wonderer"

and some stuff I noticed that the video guy didn't:
- Chocobo sprinting seems to take out a bit of stamina at a time for a moment of sprinting, its not like a run. But Chocobo's regain stamina over time, its not like FF12's Gysahl Greens (yay!)
- Iris is actually a "party member" in the scenes were they are walking around together. Her HP is measly though, but it does give cadence to the idea that she is an added guest member

I didn't even watch the entire 50 min video, but I am watching this...

So do we believe that is the entire game map that is shown?

Edit: Damn! That video got me hyped! The game systems sound pretty decent.

They could always drop the game down to 720p lol

Sound Rant/Questions

I watched Advent children recently and I really like both English and Japanese Voices,
However I did notice that if you turn the English voices On the sound appears to be on a difrent layer than the ambience noise, does that make sense?

Is sorta like the Japanese Voices blend with the backgrounds, this is very noticble during the part where Vampire guy (forgot his name XD) talks to cloud in the forest.

Anyhow-What's up with FFXV English voices, they all sound MONO or something, as in you can always hear them at a certain layer, as if Noctis is wearing an ear piece, so no matter how far prompto or ignis are you can hear them as if they are always next to you.

"WHERE DID YOU LEARN THAT ONE NOOOOOOOOKKKTT!!??" and gladiou is like 20 feet away fighting a scorpion.

lol this is great

Huh, for some reason I thought a lot of fans would immediately recognize him...

Awesome!
I still couldnt believe my eyes when I saw a 5 man party
the ammount of combos was isane.

I always liked Temp Party memebers, like sephiroth and general Leo.
especially when you can grind with them for extra EXP ( knowing my playstyle, I'm going to take cor with me all over the map before reaching my actual destination)

So was the last weapon Noctis acquired in the video some sort of mechanical bow?

I thought it was the chain saw blade,
during the Duscae behemoth fight.

@RedMakuzawa
The team won't be adding anything extra before release. The extra 2 months will be used to fix bugs and polish FFXV more.

Does anybody know if, for example, SE added some smaller UI/QoL features in the next 2 months, like being able to open the map or quest log during driving, which at the moment isn't possible and some complained about, do they have to go through the rating approvement or certification process again? What about any day-one patches?

“It would take about one month exactly to fit everything we wanted in the day one patch into the disc version. And with that, pretty much all of the technical issues would be sorted out,” he said. “And then we thought that after we got that technical base down and there were no problems there, it’s one more month to polish everything up and get it really great. And that’s why it was two months.”

“If you keep putting more volume and more content into the game, with that comes a load of extra debugging and polishing and optimization periods, so we really are concentrating on getting the volume and content we have at the moment, getting that really solid and really perfect for the final game,” he added.

japanese FFXV Twitter account posted a picture (off screen) showing amazing quality of the visuals, way better than the footage on youtube. Everything seems high res in the picture even in the distant everything is sharp and nice. Whats going on here, is this the PC build with modded PS buttons? lol

That looks great.

But you can still see the "Dreamcast trees" in the distance and such. IMO, that kind of stuff just doesn't matter, as I never notice it while playing the game, only in screenshots where it's easy to pick stuff apart.

As far as I know they specifically said Luna is not going to be in the party. ;)

Beside Cor, who of the characters we already know could I image to join the group...?

- Iris. Maybe as a supporting healer? She doesn't seem to be a seasoned combattant.

- Ardyn. He seems an ambivalent guy, going after his own interests. So I could see him joining the group. According to trailers and the gameplay vid he does hang around with the party.

- Gentiana. If not Luna maybe she will be supporting the group at one point. If I remember correctly they said before that Gentiana was quite important to the story as well.

- Cid! Yeah, why not? He fought on Regis side and it seemed as if he's a bit bored after his granddaughter now runs the business.

Very nice! I really hope they can solve all the technical issues from the Master version. Seems they are on the right track!

Realllllly hoping this is true. The framerate is really the only issue I have at the moment and if they can get that locked down for the majority of the game, I'll be satisfied.

The entire world map was shown through some of the past footage shown to us over the years.

It's huge, what you saw was only a portion of the world map.

We really haven't seen anything at all of what the playable area around Tenebrae or gameplay in the city itself, have we?

Maybe it's just not Chapter 0 but in fact the actual final fight. And Noctis is wearing a different suit, simply because whoever playing changed it

Something weird going on: Noctis is wearing different clothes than what we see in the 50min. video (suit vs Regis-like clothes)
Same boss multiple times?

That doesn't look like a finished scene. It's probably a much earlier iteration of the same fight (as it looks to be the same boss and area).

This brought me some serious Bravely Default flashbacks. Just imagine if the end game portion is anything like that lol
