Final Fantasy XV Gamescom Active Time Report - CNN reporting live from disaster scene

That's exactly the reason why I said that it's better to wait for someone to translate the articles LOL!

oimori could probably translate for us? :P

I thought he already said multiple times that release date info will be at PAX/TGS

Anyways, he says he planned to release 'that sort of information' at PAX/TGS. so it could be the release year info that he had to announce it after backlash, not the exact date.

He said he'll announce at PAX when they'll be able to announce the full release date, lol.

I'd only be annoyed at no Cactaur/Tonberry if there was gratuitous palette swapping later in the game. I can imagine they'd be two of the more awkward classic FF enemies to translate to XVs combat while retaining their signature moves like the Marlboro and Bad Breath.

Also, look at the fear in Regis' eyes. He's clearly scared shitless but he isn't even defending himself.

That's the sword in the trailer I think and it's on the FFXV promo shirts. Can we tell if there is that sword in the CG footage?

I actually expect none of this to be true.

You know, recent FFs have gotten us used to logos with huge and really elaborate artwork, but I wouldn't have minded if this sword was the logo (shrunk and moved behind "FINAL FANTASY XV", maybe rotated slightly).

Now that you mention it...
Yeah i can already imagine the banter between the guys while trying to fight tjose things lol

Are you kidding XV's is probably the most beautiful of the whole series imho

About the release date in Dengeki:

"Originally at Gamescom we planned to unfold the development and had also plans to reveal the same kind of information at PAX and TGS. However, the anticipation for an announcement at Gamescom was larger than we expected so we are reflecting on that.

As we said in ATR the date has been set and that will come up with new information. While I can't reveal the release date yet, I want to assure that you will not be waiting until 2017."

I didn't see much anything worthwhile new stuff, I'll read the Famitsu one too though.

I'm just saying this one is great too, although it wouldn't fit nowadays due to how FF logos have gotten bigger starting with X.

Now that I remember, the 2013 trailer has Noctis and Stella as childhood friends right? So I guess things were changed as a result. Is the stuff in the 2013 trailer still in the game?
Her lines from the meeting were still in that trailer. The theory was always they had met at some point when they were young but as Noctis faced some near death experience it's likely he could have forgotten.

"The summon Leviathan is a being close to god and is highly intelligent. Director Tabata ordered me to design her as an elegant/refined female." (Matsuzawa)

"There's a scene where Leviathan comes out and it's one of the peaks of Final Fantasy XV." (Tabata)

Summons have a human form?

The 2013 trailer remains very much a huge ??? moment for me of whether or not it's actually part of Tabata's overall story.

Because it's clearly developed after Tabata took over the project, and while some of the dialogue strongly implies the scene of the Insomnia invasion with Noctis on-set, the visuals they displayed doesn't collerate to the dialogue, which could still be in the game?

This picture from Episode Duscae ending is not just a concept art piece, but it's an ingame artwork that was painted hundreds of years ago by a famous painter.

It's portraying the book of genesis (or similiar) in the FF XV mythology/religion. It displays some summons and they are an extremely important part of the world in FF XV.

The 2013 trailer was the best ever shown, but all these changes being made deters me for some reason (despite knowing and acknowledging the possibility of a project changing during development).

That's true but at the same time it was mostly pre-rendered while Tabata ones where all in game.

I was thinking that, but then isn't that Leviathan on the botton right? Why would she be in the artwork twice, unless one of them isn't Leviathan. Also, Ultros appears to be there. :p

It's some kind of demon / monster, which is being repelled by the angels.

All the summon beings are on the clouds, closer to the gods and humans. They have been said to be divine, wise beings so no reason Leviathan alone would be down there with the "horde".

Some people guessed that it was Siren on the left.

That's an option for sure, but I'm still on #TeamLeviathan after the concept artist said he was asked to design Leviathan to be a refined woman/female. I think he was talking about this piece.

Also Siren doesn't have a fish tail if I remember correctly.

Another thought is that this might not be all the game's summons. Ifrit and Odin are conspicuous by their absence. I know not every 'OG' summon is in every FF, but I would've thought there'd be room for Ifrit somewhere.

So...Knights of the Round protector Etro/the Creator/Godess...

The other "eidolons" are like her children who want to usurp her throne but there's a schism between them...with Leviathan/Bahamut (Luna/Noctis?) on one side and Titan/Shiva/Ifrit etc on the other...

It might not be Knights of the Round though, as they could also be the past kings of Lucis.

Ugh, Siren, Ifrit and Carbuncle all had such wonderful designs in FFXIII. Too bad they were relegated to a single cinematic cutscene. :/
