Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

I don't know I kind of like the ending and what it goes for. Execution could be better, especially the transitions, but overall it's efficient. Both epic and low key.

So....

-Luna died.
-Noctis died, but both are reunited in the afterlife.
-Ifrit is Ifrit
-Ardyn confirmed to be a king.
-Gentiana = Shiva.

Anything else? I'm okay with the ending now that I seen it in English. It's very sad, but the fact that Noctis and Luna are happy in the afterlife makes it bittersweet.

I actually did not mind the ending too much.

But what/who exactly is Ardyn? I only came in on the final battle and it was kinda odd even with English voiceover.

The other 3 also died. They sacrificed themselves to hold off the bad dudes so Noctis could fight against Ardyn

I want to know who the hell Ardyn really is and why Noctis had to die to get rid of him. He says something about being erased from the history books again. Maybe he was the first Lucian king?

I think the Bros died too. I think the two scenes are supposed to give closure to everyone. Noctis gets a scene with his Bros and then with his lover. At least that's how me and a friend are interpreting it.

Ending is weird IMO. Oh well.....

What makes me wonder is why show the wedding scene in the end? What is the point?

Because Romance bruh.

Not gonna lie I kind of teared up at the last sequence between Noctis and Luna. Don't even know why. I'm such a crybaby.

I really liked it too. I loved the ending scene of Titanic and it's very reminiscent of that which I enjoy.

The ending is fine. Most of its emotional punch will rely on all story build-up until that point, but I'm afraid the build up may not be strong enough. Especially if Luna has barely any scenes.

Ardyn mentioned something about demons, but idk what that context is.
Sooo Luna is Etro?

All but in exact name it seems.

He's definitely Lucian, what with the Armiger he has as well. Probably a forgotten King, or something. Maybe a brother that usurped him? idk just spit balling now.

Not trying to argue here but I think it's more of what happens in paradise. Just my viewpoint so far haha.

Titanic was the same. Its basically the same concept, whether you want to consider it a dream, or a heavenly sight is up to the player.

Wait, why is Noctis young again in the stream? Did he load up an early save?

I am so confused.

In Japanese media sometimes they show characters as younger in existential moments to represent their vulnerable sides.

So his friends just kinda die of screen? A bit lame and confusing

They are the type of bros who would die off screen for their bro

Well at least Tabata was being fair to both genders
;p

I don't mind this ending though, At least Noctis reunited with Luna (and probably his bros too) and it didn't leave any space for a sequel. I definitely wasn't a fan of how they treated Tidus and Cecil in the sequel games.

Edit: SE was quick to remove that link:/

Wait I was kidding when I said that Bahamut was Aranea, but apparently she is? For real? Anyone saw that in one of the earlier streams?

Man, I could've pulled a better concept for a "final stretch" out of my ass than what we got here:

- You enter the palace and stand at the lobby, all looks fine, but more you trek into palace, the more it is distorted by Ardyn's dark magic, pulled like taffy, with holes that look into space(or the dark dimension).

- You eventually find your way to the throne room, which has become twice its original size, dwarfing our heroes. Ardyn subdues the bros and the entire battle between Noctis and him takes place in this massive room, the more intense the battle gets, the more it starts to warp.

- Finally Ardyn is defeated and Noctis knows he has to fight Ardyn in the "netherworld", tries to go it alone but the bros, sticking with him through thick and thin, decide to travel with him in this final journey. Noctis summons the KOTR which do him in and destroy the throne room, leading to the bros deaths.

- Noctis confronts Ardyn in the netherworld along side his bros, uses the ring(like in the QTE), but it transforms Ardyn into his "final form"(like Zeromus in FFIV). Final battle against Ardyn's monstrous, COOOOOOL looking final form is tought and ultra-epic. Our heroes prevail, Ardyn is defeated and peace reigns.
