Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Wasn't the story rewritten by the person who did Dissida, correct me if i'm wrong.

From what we understand, yes, specific changes and major changes.

I don't really care about that as long as the resulting story is good, but biggest issue about the game for me personally is that even the revised story didn't have enough time in the oven to be properly implemented at all, and comes off half baked in addition to the underutilized characters outside of the main 4. Even adryn's actual past is still somewhat vague and debated.

You can't compare holding down button combat to actual specific button press combat regardless.

I think we can say that FF15 is unique in the RPG space in that it can't be compared to many other RPGs in terms of how its system works.

Did Costlemark again and its not that bad. Its conclusion is fixed. After you fought 2 Iron Giants you're on the money and you'll likely get the floor in the southwest (this was it for me in both occasions and guides as well).

All you have to remember there, is to not choose a cube thats in front of a dead end on the map (black space of nothingness). At some point after the Yojimbo enemy (I think), you can choose. One is far ahead in a tip on the minimap, that points to nothing. The other in the back leads to more halls on the minimap. Choose the latter and you're on the way to the boss.

The dungeon doesn't make sense. The generators in the sewer dungeon, okay, that makes a bit of sense and you'll pretty much reach them in order. But this shit? lol.

I actually find KH2.5s combat kinda eh. I prefer crazy-fast (DMC/Bayo) or a little bit slower. KH always felt like some in-between that I could never get into.

I would best describe it. There is a great story there but it feels like much of the story was cut , so some parts aren't fleshes out well. IMO

I like the story a lot because it's easy to piece together what doesn't happen on screen and the ideas are conceptually very cool, but it definitely has problems with the way it's told. I'm glad we got to see it at all, but I wish it wasn't missing so much.

There is a lot of potential for media here. That's for sure.

Like a novel or anime. DLC could work too, potentially.

I understood that Shiva has been dead for a long time and that Gentiana was her ghost, but apparently she dies offscreen after Leviathan gets defeated and Gentiana is just one of the Shiva beings.
Astrals cannot be killed. However the game uses the killing as a plot device to show that by killing them, the person is able to gain a mark of their favor, as was the case with Noctis.

Thanks to Luna, he was able to easily get Ramuh and Shiva. Titan and Leviathan didn't accept him as the true king hence they fought him. Bahamut accepts him as the king near the end, same with Ifrit.

So this became the shit-posting FFXV thread?

K.
TBH, the way the story is told deserves all the hate so the complaints regarding it all valid.

Although this thread is just turning into 'FFXV is shit' thread quickly.

You know what's a real plot hole? Ignis not knowing who Ardyn is when they first met. I mean we saw in Brotherhood he was in intelligence briefings about the empire.

would he know him exactly by face though, if he met him on the street?

Criticism is apart of discussion as well.

KH2 could've had continuous attack strings as well if you hold down the X button..... No difference. Still comparable.

The point is moot because the combat systems are not similar.

It's not a plothole. Most people probably only knew him as Chancellor Izunia and likely didn't know what he looked like. The only person that seemed to know him was Regis.

You keep saying this but I"m not seeing any substantiating evidence.

This is beyond stupid if that is actual reason. He's an extremely high ranking personnel of the nation that is INVADING YOU. Like... there's no way that Regis was the only one who recognized him by face. Ignis of all people should fucking know. I say it's a shit reason no matter the explanation. There's no reasonable one.

Final Fantasy XV OT2: It all happens off screen

.

But, your the one with the burden of needing to provide evidence.

Its not an argument to say "this game has a real time combat system, and this game has a real time combat system and so they are completely similar!"

Also I get what they were going for with the time jump, but I can't say they earned it. It was just like okay this is a thing for the last hour I guess. Actually I'd say that about every emotional beat in the game outside of the core four: lots of ambition, weak execution.

This game is like Arrow Season 3

If that's the case you can't compare any turn-based combat systems with each other, ever, to see what is bad or good about each one. You can't do it for any action combat either. That's incredibly dumb.

Thinking about it, this didn't happen either?

We got train stops but don't recall an indoors station. Another stop along the way intended or just changed stations from indoors to outdoors?

Kinda bums me out a few things after FFXV was announced was shown and cut seemingly. Like most of the Dawn trailer scenes too and showing Tenebrae in the day in the uncovered trailer which never happened. Feeling like Destiny, though nowhere as bad, showing these scenes and they never happen.

Not really... I made a statement. You disagreed but didn't substantiate it. I'm not the one who proposed the conflicting perspective....

Kinda sad you don't really do anything in Tenebrae other than look at it from a distance. Hell I don't even see a way you'd even get to it from the station. I was so excited to explore that place since I saw it in trailers. :(

I really love FFXVs combat and think the combat in KH is boring. Can someone please tell my why KHs combat is so good?

Also, I definetly think that complaines on FFXVs story are valid. What´s there is really good but they really needed to flesh it out more. Hopefully the DLC will be heavy on the story. Would also love to see an updated verision of the game in a year with more story content and some kind of hard-mode. Include all DLC, add more cutscenes and story quests, books to find and more. It´s ok to dream right?

I feel like this was going to be the Niflheim station. The train was only supposed to be for Solheim region so it could be either Niflheim, Tenebrae or the very first mining city.

They appear to have a fully modelled Tenebrae but looking at the story, it seems like they just ran out of idea on how to integrate with the final script, which had it burning.

I smell DLC again.

It is honestly getting ridiculous how many times I have to say DLC against almost every complaint :P. I mean Prompto gets knocked out of the train before Tenebrae, right? So I am just connecting the dots as he will have his own DLC.

This is why I dont understand the praise Tabata gets for completing a project that was in shambles. His plan of attack and direction was clearly a mess as well. An absurd amount of trailer content completely cut, even stuff shown this year

Well, actually, it'd be fine to compare systems with similar parts. for example, you can compare ff9 and 7 because they're variants of ATB.

Kh and 15 are just too different to compare. One is a largely menu based facsimile of ff menus in a action setting, where as the other (15) barrows far more fron strategy rpg's due to its reliance on character positioning and techniques use. You can say you like one more than another, but comparing them as counterparts is silly.

its like comparing 15 and integrity and faithlessness outside of the fact they are both 20 hour rpg's

I'm saying that in general they are not similar, not that they could not be compared.

For the whole battle system, they have some overlap in the team based nature of things, and the fact that there is a dodge button, but outside of that, KH and FF15 generally have no real actual similarities to each other.

KH has individual button press combo strings, different combos for different button combinations, active jumping mechanics, micromanagement for team base priorities, manual blocking, manual countering, manual juggling, manual dodging, manual canceling, manual dashing ect.

Holding a button to dodge, holding a button to attack, contextual counters among other things puts FF15 far away from something like KH.

If you look back, i never actually quoted any post of yours when i posted about the combat system.

I was referring to the conversation going on in general. You decided i was responding to you.

No, it's really not. We don't know what kind of information Lucis has about the empire because it's not setup in the story. So players just assume because he's an important character and has a title of chancellor that everyone has to know him. That really isn't a given. Most people wouldn't be able to name someone besides the President/Prime Minister/etc of a country. If they do then it's maybe by name only.

Ignis said it later when Ardyn fully introduced himself as Ardyn Izunia. Ignis knew Chancellor Izunia but didn't know his first name nor what he looked like. So we knew at the very least that Ignis didn't know anything behind his last name and title.

But this is wartime. How do they not know? That being said, you're right we don't know what information has been circulated around Lucis and that could be a reason but it just seems idiotic this is the case... Eh.

I don't know who the secretary of defense is of Pakistan and I am Indian. Our two nations have been in conflict for half a century. I live in UK and even I don't know who is responsible for defense here...infact I am one of the politically aware guys and even I can't out a face to several names.

Considering Noctis was the kind who despite being a prince never really got involved in things it's not surprising.

Haha, as a Pakistani, I honestly can only name your PM :P

I believe this is part of the outcome from Tabata's story re-arrangement effort.

I remember at one point Nojima/Nomura mentioned in the VersusXIII world Insomnia is a highly isolated society with high techs powered by the Crystal, the rest of the world being under-developed (Like XIII's Pulse and Cocoon). So it would not be a surprise when Insomnia residents don't know about anything outside the city, and vice versa. This could also explain why Cindy doesn't know who's the crown prince when facing him lol

I get noctis not knowing but Ignis?.... idk. Maybe I should just stop.

Ignis is supposed to be a strategist for the royal family. I'm guessing you are not a high level intelligence officer. At least I hope not, for India's sake :)
