Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

He dosn't react, in a credible manner, in that particular scene. That's precisely the point, I'm trying to make. Ardyn dosn't makes any remark about the fact he put his fiancee and father corpses hanging, when he dosn't shuts up for 3 hours in chapter 13.

You were so sure, I didn't played, and now you asking again? Wanna bet?

You keep saying a credible manner. Grim determination is credible and it alone speaks to character development when--the last time we see Noctis--he likely would've flown into an immediate rage. There are lines to be read between here and you're being obtuse by saying they need some kind of dramatic reaction. That's c-grade horror movie bullshit right there. "OH MY GOD LOOK AT THAT!" Any kind of dramatic, over the top reaction would've killed the momentum of the moment.

What a bunch of bullshit. Ardyn is immortal, unkillable by human hand. Which is why he can afford to be personable and in some cases helpful to Noctis because he offers absolutely no threat to him. Ultimately he's just a tool by which he can enact his vengeance.

As he needs Noctis alive and fully empowered in order to achieve that goal, he toys with him psychologically for his own amusement and in order to give himself an advantage in the final showdown.

That Noctis holds it together in the face of this final provocation just shows his personal growth and acceptance of the harsh duties of Kingship. After Ignis is blinded Gladio goes extra hard on him not because he's bothered by his comrade's injury or the death of the Oracle, its because he sees his King faltering. His whole point is that to be King Noctis must face his destiny with strength and stoicism no matter the loss.

Which ultimately is what he needs to do in order to win.

Dosn't really explains why he shouldn't be, even minally concerned about the imagery he's being faced. Even if he's determined to fullfill his destiny and his Kingship, dosn't mean he's prepared to face such visions. Or the whole party for that matters.

I don't want it to be over the top, but more that a single line of "What is that?", sure, it would have made the whole scene much better.

I like your opinion! If it helps, I really can see where you're coming from. I don't completely agree, but I've been back and forth on that scene since I beat the game.

Now that I think about it a little more,it does make sense for Ardyn to conjure up that imagery just to mess with Noctis and kick the final fight into high gear.

Soooo....how 'bout that Prompto guy? 10 years later and all the poor guy can muster is a tiny patch of hair on his chin. Can't even grow a full beard.

You never get ifrit's blessing so that wouldn't make sense.
but Leviathan's summon proves that Bahamut's would totally work.

Leviathan AND Shiva! Both are obtained way after leaving Lucis yet both can be used, why not Bahamut?

Though thinking about it, do we want a summon that has 0% accuracy?

Wonder if the DLC/Patches will add in more summons... Or at least make Bahamut a normal summon.

I thought Bahamut missing Ifrit during that sequence was on purpose. I'll have to replay it, but I remember Bahamut giving you a glance like "I could end this but I'm not, this is just a distraction for you to regroup". I may be way off base here because I can't 100% recall my thoughts on that scene when I went through it.

Other than that one dungeon are there any real surprises in the game or did they actually show everything in trailers and ATRs?

Assuming how all characters are portrayed in the game, yes. And there's another hater in this very page that seems that didn't played the game. Go after him champ!

For the whole game, Ardyn dosn't do the "show don't tell" stuff, is very contradictory considering how he behaves during the whole game. I repeat, he constantly is contradicts that for 3 hours in chapter 13.

Other people seem like they actually played the game.

I took that scene as Bahamut wanting to straight up kill Ifrit, but he was too nimble. Bahamut then has him stuck and motions to noct that Ifrit can't move now, so Noct strikes.

It also makes the scene where Shiva kills him more potent since Freezing, slowing him down then shattering him was really the only way to kill this astral.

You need to stop.

I just realized in the Cosmogony artwork, one of the 6 Astrals is missing:

I think Ifrit is missing?

Are bahamut's eyelashes a hint that its female ?

That's pretty cool.

I liked that Leviathan was female.

Hope we get a mainline FF where Shiva is a guy and Ifrit is a girl. :P

So... did Noct have a mother or something? What happened to her? Not even a mention as far as I've seen.

I assumed that the women holding young Noct in Brotherhood after being attacked by the Kary/Lamia looking daemon was his mom, but I'm still not sure. Still, even then not a single mention. I'm a bit perturbed by that.

This hit me below the belt.

And while trying I lost hair on the other hemisphere of my head too.

Surprised none of the bros started balding.

Pretty sure she was just a maid/baby sitter/nanny. But in my head canon she was Noct's mother because maybe it's better to be killed by a snake lady and at least show up in something than to have your father give birth to you via super miraculous conception.
