Final Fantasy XV: World of Wonder video (ft. Florence + The Machine)

After playing previous Final Fantasies (apart from 13), can you really say we are expecting too much? Every single game has looked great. I don't think anyone can deny that.

and most of them did not have the shitshow development cycle of XV and only XIII was multi-platform (with the sequels downgrading to compensate).

SE in general kinda got their asses beat by last gen's tech...so this being yet another step up only adds to the various differences.

In what world does this not look great?

I'm looking forward to this game as much as everyone else, but if you can't objectively look at this video and see how absolute shit it looks during some parts, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm convinced this engine isn't suited for the weak excuses of consoles we have now. PC footage looks great (too bad we won't see it for another 2 years). I really hope there's a Neo version. I haven't picked up a PS4 yet, and it might be able to redeem FFXV.

I'm glad KH3 and FF7:RE are on UE4. They look great, even on consoles.

Not to mention one is targeting a single platform versus the other being multiplatform. Even Witcher 3 took a while to get the balance right after numerous patches.

Yeah but when I compare vanilla Witcher 3 to this trailer, W3 looks much better. Not hating or anything. I willbuy FF15 day one but this tailer was disappointing visually.

I had a big-ass grin on my face the whole way through that. The creature design is incredible, and it's nice to see old creatures from previous games adapted so beautifully.

...aaaaaand, like everyone else has said, I remembered you can probably kill everything, and felt depressed.

Do you bruh.
I got the regular edition
Season pass
Strategy guide(for collection purposes)
Game informed magazine in a frame(lol)
And the DVD/anime Blu-ray

I didn't realise there was a strategy guide - Piggyback, fuck yeeeeeeeeeeeees! Thanks for the heads-up!

And when you judge a game on a compressed as hell YouTube video I can't take you seriously so I guess we're at an impasse

Explain why the Griffin creature in the beginning looks so great then?

There's some serious LOD issues going on in certain parts. You can clearly see some low res textures that shouldn't be displayed that close to the camera.

I don't think anyone's saying this game doesn't have issues. You're just pointing them out. What exactly is new?

I'm not of the opinion that the final game will look like this. They are just releasing some extremely questionable marketing content.

Lol you must not be a long time fan or your memory is just short. XII development time was incredibly long and it switched leadership hands as well
Development for Final Fantasy XII began in December 2000 and was headed by Final Fantasy Tactics director Yasumi Matsuno and Final Fantasy IX director Hiroyuki Ito. Matsuno provided the original concept and plot but was forced to bow out of his roles midway through production due to health concerns. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XII

They look pretty good and if they roam naturally like that it'd be even better. I still want to see more huge creatures though (think Xenoblade X).

Well the adamantoise seems pretty huge to me:

I bet this isn't the only giant enemy.

Damn... do we know what Ito is up to these days? Is he still with Square?

Tbh, the footage looks good to me. Not perfect but not bad. I cannot wait to play this!

These bitrate arguments are giving me flashbacks to The Elder Blood trailer for TW3. Do any of you remember that? It's obvious that this trailer is terribly rendered but at the same time it's a mystery why Square Enix, a massive publisher, would allow this on their youtube channel. Maybe the game does look gnarly outside of specific character and enemy models.

t's not that hard to believe seeing the demos. They also had bad textures for the most part.

Duscae looked fantastic and that was a year and a half ago. Unless they've somehow made the game look worse in that span of time.

I assume that this game has better image quality(?) and physics(?) than Dark Souls 3, but for some reason the latter looks slightly better to me. Maybe it's the art direction, I don't know though because I have little knowledge of what goes into making these masterpieces.

Can't wait to play this, hopefully it's really fun like 6-10 and 12.

While this is not conclusive of a downgrade, most of the footage and official screenshots has looked worse than the Duscae demos if you're really paying attention. This is a good example.

Yeah, art direction. Dark Souls 3 also spent a lot of TLC on environment models and textures whereas FFXV environment models are usually low poly flat and squarish.
