I know the IP is huge, but betting the house on it is risky. If for whatever reason it is not as successful as the previous episode, it could become the new E.T.
Not really betting the house when the house is now GTA online. It's not like GTA Online is going to suddenly drop players if GTA6 is somehow a dud.

I mean, i sw2 manage to be slightly less powerful than a series s then the narrative change (still not optimal and i'm still gonna be a salty fuck for releasing the game on these even weaker hardwares, but that's another discussion entirely)

I just don't have much faith in N delivering a staggering hardware for 400\450 dollars in tablet form.

It's been a long time since Nintendo has pushed the graphical ability of a console to modern levels (almost 25 years), so your trepidation is not without merit. I will say that barring any HUGE surprises, the only thing Switch 2 should be doing is making a more modern hardware version of the Switch. The OG Switch was "old tech" out the box back in 2017 but the way it used that tech was compelling enough to be a powerful deodorant. I don't think the hybrid concept, while still very effective has the novelty factor to get people to jump on just because. So I think they have to push the tech harder than they needed to in the past since there isn't a fresh gimmick or hook to get people to "look in the window."

But Of course I'll say all this and Switch 2 wont get ANY of the big publishers that skipped out on them last gen and the mud on my face will become a mask!

What could possibly support this conclusion?
Their decisions to support whatever they want. I mean that's what banks been doing since eternity, they target smart clients financially by looking at their clients spendings.

I think I'm resigned to the fact that I will go to my grave never understanding the popularity of this franchise.

Mostly with you. I could understand it when GTA3 and VC came out, there was just nothing else like it. But now? I've always hated the mission structure and the sandbox bores me pretty quickly, and plenty of other games do the open world/sandbox thing (and much, much better). I get it - people like the series, but what has them frothing at the mouth for it? Nobody has ever been able to properly explain why.

Since GTA4 I have not managed to end the story, somehow the missions and city driving become random/boring.

Hope 6 is different, this Time Will wait to SEE if the Main story is worth my time and money.

Could be even higher if they'd release it for PC on the same day as well, seeing that GTA Online is the actual money maker here. But I'll just wait, I guess.
